New dlc,new terrain and of course, new houses.
I know we have some housing fans who are awaiting these 2 new ones already, but do you really always want all new homes?
And those who arent much into housing, does any of those catch your attention?

My opinion on both is:no thank you.I love housing but I dislike both homes and I am getting tired of only seeing massive homes being added to the game and no medium size or small houses.
Even with more furniture capacity I couldnt see myself enjoying decorating any of these 2.I admit Ossa Accentium has an interesting outside and I do love the sky but inside it is too dark for my taste.
But I am happy for those who are already planning to do something amazing with them ^^

What about you?

    Agony's Ascent
I am not too crazy with decorating, so 700 slots will probably be enough for me, and I find Agony's Ascent is what I was waitnig for so long. Though it will be the first and the last noticable house I'll ever buy apart of vanilla's trinity.

I like something small, and cozy. Inn rooms are perfect for me, which they seem to make one of each year.

*Poof!* I get a free teleport, and some extra space if I need it. Currently, I only have my extra storage chests in my Snugpod, as it is my main locus, mostly for the nearby Fence.

The super sized homes? Zero interest. Way too big to be practical for me. Although, I think guilds tend to prefer them.

*sighs* Both massive houses again! I like the style and look of both of them, but why do we need TWO new massive houses? Couldn't one at least have been medium sized? They're too expensive and too big to furnish. There are more than enough giant homes already, with each release we should get a small, medium and large house, not a continual flood of these mammoth monstrosities.

Exactly. It is always massive homes being added each year,4 of them this year or 5? I dont remember now.
Its almost like people didnt request more medium sized homes since 2 years at least.

I checked them both out on the pts. (I forget which name goes with which home.)

One is a fire-y deadric home. And I plan on using the other deadric “event” home as a warehouse. I have an equal disdain for both. Pass.

The other is interesting, but is hampered by the persistent “blue filter” the whole area has. Maybe if I was going to make an icy, “frozen over” home perhaps? But pass as well.

And I also long for a “smaller” cottage home as mentioned above.

At any rate, I get to save a little money in the end.

    I looked at both.

Ossia has potential, but it's another huge house that I can't even imagine furnishing halfway decently with only 700 slots.

Why is there no one-room appartment in Fargrave? I love those little spaces, even if 30 slots isn't really very much.

And yes, I would rather have a house half the size of Ossia, but with 700 slots, so I can indulge my joy in cluttering up my space... ^^

The deadric tower is the Agony one, wich I personally dislike deadric themed houses, however I already own one the Kushalit and that is more than enough for me.I wont even get the free ticket house because it would just be one more empty house on my list.
I cant really imagine the Ossa accentum as a icy home,it has sand outside and on the surroundings where you cant reach to cover it up with snow.

Why do they always do Massive houses - M.o.n.e.y

It all comes down to money, money, money and MORE money. The bigger the house - the more they can sell it for. I wish they would do all sizes too and............................

While we are at it, why not up the storage for the small/medium houses, being that we know 700 can be the max slots? Besides the fact that they can get more money for the larger houses why not have the same limits?

Sure if the smaller houses had the same slots people might not be tempted to buy the bigger houses for the extra slots. But still, let those houses stand on their own merits/other draw cards.

I get your point but I honestly think that less and less people are buying these big homes apart from the housing fanatics, but those people will also buy the medium sized homes if they would release any.
I personally havent bought any of the new houses from last year nor this year.If there would have been some smaller homes Ii may have bought one or 2.

I dislike cluttering but I see why people like it.I am not much into small details when I furniture homes but I enjoy seeing it when other people do it.
Also +1 for more small room apartments, clockwork city could do with one too.

I've only seen Ossa Accentium so far, and although I like the sky overlay and general atmosphere on the courtyard, I don't really like the architecture of it, or the clolour/texture of the materials. Plus, as with all new housing releases, it will be impossible to furnish cohesively with the slot limit. I don't mind that they release huge houses, I just wish they released smaller ones alongside them (or even better, template plots in all zones, so the player can build what they like in the atmosphere of that zone).

I was interested in Ossa Accentium at first, because Fargrave is a really awesome city so I'd like to have a home there. But it turned out to be yet another large manor with so much space that I wouldn't be able to make it feel homey and cosy. :/ Bit of a shame tho.

Sometimes I wish ZOS would create more fitting homes of smaller sizes rather than pump out the next manor or palace. Like a thief's hideout in Hew's Bane for instance.

Indeed, I would have also loved a cottage home somewhere in the reach,a smaller clockwork city house and a Landhouse in Summerset.

The idea translates just fine. "Hard of hearing" perhaps ?

ZoS however have said in the past that the 700 limit is driven by console limitations (and I seem to remember even with that there were outbreaks of console people being stuck crashing on loading in their houses last year)

    Agony's Ascent
I have been wanting a Dark Wizard tower and Agony's Ascent works for me. I especially love the sulfur room.

The other house is nice, but its too much like a maze. I don't care for maze houses.

I'm not very interested in evil Daedric towers, so I Agony's Ascent, while very scenic, just was not my cup of tea.

I did consider Ossa for a time. I'm still a little on the fence about it, but I think it would depend on how my finances are at the time it comes out. I like the outside "constant night" sky and the giant skeleton, but I'm not too keen on the inside as it feels a bit generic. I just don't know; I'll have to see how my bank account is recovering when it comes out :D .

EDIT: As an addition, I do have to agree with you Lady Galadhiel, that I really wish we had smaller houses. I still am holding out for a small Western Skyrim style wooden cabin in a woods type thing. Next to a lake, perferably. I know we got Antiquarian's, but I was thinking something a lot more smaller and rustic, like the Hunter's House in Western Skyrim (which is a crafting station location).

I like the idea of some of the houses, like the Daedric tower, but why must they always be enormous areas?
I'd really like to have some more interesting staple homes rather than even more classic or notable monstrosities.

I was really hoping for an inn room or something in Fargrave, I love that area and it is really interesting with its diverse population. I was incredibly disappointed to see that there wasn't a room available there :(

I think I too, would want an inn room, or at least a smaller house in Fargrave. It's a unique and fantastic zone, but I'm not entirely sure I'd be willing to pay for another notable house just to live there...In spite of the fact that I really really would love to live there.

    Agony's Ascent
I can actually see Agony's Ascent work because it's already pretty on its own and it's well compartmentalized. I really like Ossa's theme but 700 item limit is just not gonna cut it, as it's bigger than Agony's, and not nearly enough lightning and shrubs/pools/ambience is present in the blank-slate version, so I'll likely get Agony's and pass on Ossa.

Console player so outside of videos I have not seen the new homes so no personal experience. On the opinion of larger homes. They must be selling well because if they where not then they would not keep making so many of them. They did add a lot of new housing items this update which is nice. As far as decorating them I have found it is easier to focus on an area in larger homes to decorate and not try to decorate the whole area. Really hope one day they increase the housing limits.

Stay safe and enjoy the journey :)

I like this one but am afraid it would suffer from the same weird lighting color problems when decorating that the Psijic Villa does.

I got that house for free but nothing looks right in it.

If perhaps the devs allow us to customize day/night conditions like some have asked it might be an option.

If you want to do rich decoration with a lot of clutter etc. for attention to detail it's better to get a smaller Notable house.

700 slots is very limiting for most of the new houses IMO.

Hmm, neither grabs me, but I must be especially particular about notable homes. I like either something very open on which I can build as I like (Moonsugar Meadow <3 ) or I have to really dig the concept as a whole.

Of the homes released this year, to my preferences, the best are Varlaisvea, Sweetwater Cascades and Water’s Edge. I only didn’t buy Sweetwater Cascades because I really couldn’t afford to this time.

Agony’s Ascent is heavily themed, like Tel Galen, and either that’s what you want or it isn’t. If I want to make something very much of the Oblivion Daedric theme, to me, the event home suits better with the fires surrounds and “neighbors” and opportunity to build what I want. But I imagine that a Daedric tower will suit the taste of many though so I am glad for that. :)

As for Ossa Ascentium, there are aspects that I like, that I wish I could carve out into a medium size home with extensive outdoor area (so maybe large all-in-all?) but as it is, I don’t know what I would do with the various large rooms. They don’t communicate a purpose to me the way Varlaisvea and Sweetwater Cascades do, each in different ways.

I like notable homes that suit me, but I would also love to see more new apartment through large homes! There are many aspects I liked about Lucky Cat Landing but too many that I did not. I was happy to buy Ald Velothi Harbour House for Crowns (I wanted the furnishings too) and love the idea of a townhouse in Balmorra, actual apartments (not only inn rooms) in Vivec City and the Ceporah Tower, a mystic wooded plot in Summerset (okay, that would be another notable, but I want it), a many roomed smaller building in Fargrave that could be a townhouse, an inn, a store of some kind, endless possibilities.

    (Edited for clarity.)
