How about a nice, fun thread?

What is something that occurred in-game that you just simply could not believe your eyes?

I'll start; Last week a Guildmate and I were trying to put together a PvP event in Imperial City. Only he, I, and one other person showed. Whatever, we're a very casual, mostly PvE Guild anyway. So, to IC we go.

My PvP main is an Orc StamSorc that I play like a Brawler/Bruiser. Yeah, StamSorc isn't meant to be played like that, but whatever. I like the style. I have just shy of 700 CP.

We start trying to take the Flag from EP in the Elven Gardens district. Tough fight. One EP player kills two of our team (Daggerfall Covenant), and he zeros in on me. They had well over 1,500 CP more than me. Oh well, here we go.

I don't know how it happened, other than "he zigged, when he should have zagged", but I actually managed to kill him. Before I could come to terms with the amazement, an achievement pops up; Kill a Grand Overlord.

No way. I don't think it's possible for me to top this. I love PvP, but I kinda suck at it. I die more than I kill. Yet, there it is.

So everyone, your turn. Good, bad, in-between, what has happened in-game that has just blown you away?

That's awesome! As for me, the most recent time I was blown away was during the recent Year One event when I entered the Imperial City with my StamDK (EP) and were doing the daily quests. I joined a group but we split up and right after this I come toe to toe with this very high CP fella from AD. I was around 270-300 meanwhile that player was 1700 something something. It all went so fast but surprisingly enough I managed to take them down and that made me blown away. My thoughts were something like "What?! This shouldn't be possible" as I looked puzzled at my computer screen. Lucky me indeed... I'm more of a casual PvE player but don't mind doing PvP activities once in a while :p

I went to Cyrodiil a few years back as a PVE newb for some sky shards and got killed (a lot). I have spent my time since then getting payback... and it has been great fun! ;)

Not exactly sure when it was, but blazing spear could stun.
I went to one of our keeps that was under attack, but it was just one guy in there fighting guards on the back flag. I threw 2 blazing spears on him and got my very first Emperor Slayer.

Me and a friend were pugging vet Fang Lair just to get the mask style. The pug was smooth, we blasted through the dungeon, only one death happened.

On the last boss, our tank ran to activate the HM. Both me and my friend said we're kinda in hurry and informed the group that we were giving only one try at HM.

It only took that one try. When Orwyn the Black fell dead, an achievement popped: Cold Pursuit. For those unfamiliar, it meant no one died to the broken ghost walls in the last phase.

It was a jaw dropping moment, because we weren't expecting to do a smooth run of HM with group finder group. I expected the HM to end horribly, but no. All smooth.

For me is every time I manage to kill someone in PVP :D I usually just die. Soo... the day I'll become grand overlord, is the day when everyone and their mother will get that achievement on XBOX, I expect my inbox to flood with thanks ahaha

Been blown away by the "Close Call Kill" - the other player and I basically died together, and the "Most Valuable Combatant" "me? really??"

For PVE, it's the "Fungi Free" achievement
Defeat the Cadaverous Menagerie without anyone being hurt by Volatile Fungi in Veteran Fang Lair.
we got it without even trying, with a PUG (yay for PUGs!)

I think was during the first IC event, I was creeping my way back to base (I'm a carebear PvEr) and I got spotted, I held block hoping he'd get lost but he unloaded on me, all I had time to do was drop my ult before dying, he started to t-bag me and then he dropped dead too. I guess he didn't realise he was still standing in my aoe, it was hysterical and the salty whisper I got from him was just the icing on the cake. :D

A few months ago I go into a 1v1 with a necro in Cropsford, on a flag.

    That alone isn't really interesting.

But the fight lasted 15 minutes. And the entire time, not a single player from either of our alliance showed up. 15 minutes of a 1v1 in a packed campaign with a city flagged and no-one came and zerged us down.

That was a satisfying fight to win.

My most jawdropping moment might be the "solo" keep defense I did once.
Was on yellow who was underdogs, Red broke down the other door after an pretty long siege but more and more of them arrived, then the blue arrived and they killed most of us, then the read and blue started focusing on each other.
Some at least partial repaired the other door before running and I was alone, I thought I stay because I just needed a few AP for the transmute geode.

I did not realize it then before the fun started but I started doing general fire support with all the sieges left on the red and blue fighting on the walls, ranked up quite an number of kills and since I was the only AD they was solo kills.
Killed some doing counter siege and did counter siege on the ones trying to open the door from the inside :)

Fight lasted an long time for an siege but finally EP won, I did oil them but they breached the inner door so I jumped down and ran away, so much AP I got from that fight, she was level 10 in both the PvP skill lines :)
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

My most incredible moment was when I decided to test out Imperial City and got instantly killed. Like as soon as I exited the sewers. Maybe I'll try PvP again when I'm around CP 3600.

Got credit for returning an Elder Scroll for the quest I accidentally picked up. I was in a group, but I didn't think we were doing anything with that. Still not sure what happened. Maybe someone just killed the person who had it?

Lag wasn't an issue in pvp. Once in a lifetime
    NB enthusiastic:
    1. Woodhippie stamblade - DW hard-hitter / PvE
    2. Know-it-all elf Magblade - Healer / PvE & PvP
    3. Hate-them-all elf Magblade - Destrostaff AoE monster / PvE
    4. Cyrodiil-Refugee stamblade - Stamina Tank / PvE

    Go dominion or go home

A speed no death vscp ages ago before all the big nerfs.

    In a random pug.

Didn't need either though but the 4th was relatively new to the dng so great effort all in really.

Doubt I would ever get a similarly good pug again.

I've done most dlc dungeons speedruns with pugs, I've also gotten some no deaths, MoS HM and, my favourite, FL HM on first try once with pugs. That last one must've been my year's portion of luck though :D

But my most actually 'no way that just happened' moment was probably a spontaneous duel in Cyrodiil that resulted in both of us dying at exact same moment. There was no outside damage, we just both managed to kill the other at the EXACT moment we died. We both laughed really hard I think and friended each other, he turned out to be a very nice guy that I've played with for years:) He no longer actively plays but he's forever on my friendlist. And it all started with that one crazy duel XD

One of my first Flawless Conqueror runs the last boss glitched on the top and never actually went down to the bottom level. So he just stood up top and didn’t move attack or anything so I just attacked him up top for an easy win

Maybe not very exciting for seasoned pvp-ers, but I only pvp casually, mostly for tier 1 rewards, so one of the most 'no way!' fun times for me was when I somehow managed to grab the hammer and yolo'ed with it for a bit. I was laughing my head off throughout, how you can just blast into a keep in seconds, and the skill visuals are so extra and fun! I wish I had paid a little more attention to the tutorial, because I was just smashing all the buttons, but a great time nontheless, and the faction was very nice about my noobness and excitement

I play on NA and EU... my EU chars have waay less CPs since I play there less often. I lack a guild there to boot, since usually who wants players in their guild that are not regular to their activities? No issues for me, this is just background.

Couple weeks ago, having gotten comfortable with running vRG umpteen times now on NA, I decided to try and do it on EU. Went to Craglorn and joined a PuG run. I was group healer for the run. We cleared with little fuss in less than 45min. I was surprised because a) I have never once pugged a trial, b) my healers there have only 700ish CPs, c) the off healer didn't seem to know the kite role and was dead most of boss 1 and 2, and generally during the rest of the run :#

Meanwhile I got my body markings and title on a lowbie healer. :D

Last night on Raven an AD chucked a scroll DC was transporting into the Lava by Rayles. My group managed to chain our deaths and our healers managed to keep the players alive long enough to fish the scroll out of the lava and take it back to Rayles.

It's something I've never seen done before in the 2-3years I've played Cyrodiil and something both me and half the group thought was impossible.

Had one of these today. My first vet pug dungeon. Admittedly it was only fungal grotto but the monster helm dropped in the right weight and trait first time. I got the matching shoulder with 10 keys. Now feeling smug and OP :D

I’m not sure how amazing this is, but after going years in Cyrodiil without an emperor kill, I’d almost given up. Then last week in the space of 3 days, 3 of my characters picked up the emperor kill achievement. Tough week for emperors I guess. 😜

I heard this used to be a strategy years ago, to deny other factions the scrolls, because they wouldn't automatically reset after a certain time - a ZOS GM would have to come retrieve it.
