Now that Update 32 is on the Pts and The Deadlands zone is added many of us were wondering if The Deadlands public dungeon from the
Blackwood chapter would be renamed, similar to how the prologue portion of Blackreach was renamed to
Blackreach: Mzark Cavern after the zone was added.
As it turns out, the public dungeon is still called the same thing, which is pretty disappointing and causes a lot of confusion. I'm really, really hoping its renamed to something a
little more specific like
The Deadlands: Ganonah before the patch is live. Ganonah is a region of the Deadlands that appeared in
Tes IV: Oblivion, being the very first realm visited by the player through the gate in Kvatch. A nice little callback like this has a slight nostalgia factor, even if the terrain isn't identical. It doesn't have to be called
Ganonah specifically, there's lots of regions in the Deadlands like the Knives of Discord we see in CoA II for example, so the public dungeon could be referred to by literally many other possible names. I hope Zos can come up with even a random Daedric name, that would be better than what it currently is.
As it stands, the Deadlands currently refers to multiple things (the zone, the DLC, the dungeon, edrald's estate, City of Ash II, The Refuge of Dread) so it would be nice if we could avoid plastering the same name everywhere.
