Are PC users going to use the armory system?

Gonna use the thing, but 2 free slots is criminally low. Not getting the assistant though as I'd rather waste respec gold, I don't swap that often

I might use the what they make part of the game. I won’t pay crowns for any part of it.

I will buy the armory npc, and I don’t think zos is being greedy. The company has to make money off the game somehow, and I think this is the best way to monetize: Give EVERYONE something really cool, for free. Then allow people to pay for something a little bit cooler (the npc and extra slots). Greedy would be been if the basic armory system was not free to everyone. That was a huge gift to the community.

I have 0 issue with ZOS monetising their product, I thought I was clear on that. I even said I'd probably spend more on it if the unlocks also provide racial unlocks, so the armory system effectively lets you run multiple toons on one in a complete package.

My problem with over monetisation is not actually the money part. It is the introduction of additional tasks (like spawning an NPC) and providing an inferior product to addons that it has created.

If they could provide a system with fewer tasks, more streamlined, more functional, it could even cost more, and I'll be all in.

This system fumbles on the 1 yard line, and as many have stated, which I too will be doing, we'll only be using it to adjust the base line stats of our characters and morphs, and then do the primary work of our build changes with addons. If this was a complete package that was more convenient than addons, which it could have been, I'd be yelling take my money in a second. ZOS should make money out of their content, but any user considering the value they get for their money from this new system in contrast to what already exists probably won't be parting with much of their money.

Armory sounds nice for stuff like overland builds for tanks or swapping between PvP and PvE build.
Dressing room is more for changing between DD and healer and how much you focus on healing and buffing in dungeons.

As I understand the limits is just for trials, arenas and PvP, not dungeons.
And yes the limit of not in trials is stupid and people will just swap around manually as before.
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

all I can see useful in armory system is changing between vamp / no vamp builds without doing vamp quest , nothing more.

I'll definitely use the armory, but it is not remotely close to a replacement for Alpha Gear/Dressing room. I think ZOS did themselves a disservice by even suggesting that the armory serves a similar purpose.

It's a great way to quickly swap from a stam spec to mag spec or from werewolf to vampire or maybe from pvp to pve build, but it was never designed to quickly swap weapons and gear on the fly in the same way addons do, even though they used wording that might suggest that it was designed for that. The limited slots as well as limited areas it can be used in will cause it to have added restrictions that addons do not have, but that doesn't mean it's completely useless, just different.

Be happy Zeni is putting tools in game. I have never seen people complain about stuff like this. You could be poor Elite Dangerous players and have to go through the FDev madness of either getting extremely poor in game tools to no tools where you have to use outside tools meaning outside sites or external apps. And if any of you are Elite players you know what I speak of. There are many ESO hills to die on and this is not it. Also if you like the addons more just use those and ignore the new system. Or complain about how we only get two gear slots to start with the rest locked in the crown store like some mobile game. That is a hill to die on.

I wished I could give multiple agrees to your post, at least 10, because I agree so hard with this.

As a former Elite Dangerous player (who made the really bad mistake of buying the expansion earlier this year, which, I shouldn't have been surprised to find was no better than the base game), the difference between that and the ZOS team, which clearly do care, is night and day.

Whilst, sadly, ESO may lack the technical polish of FFXIV, ZOS do put a lot of thought into the quality of life gameplay issues that players face, they've really done a good job of the Armory system and it is a shame to see so many people complain here.

I applaud ZOS for trying to add such a tool to the game and appreciate that this will be of great benefit to console players but it is a shame that they haven't gone quite far enough. I like that you can switch around more aspects of a build with Armory that any of the single add-ons I currently use. I particularly like that you can swap morphs. But there are two main reasons why I will stick to using add-ons as a PC player. (1) The inability of Armory to change set ups inside an instance and (2) the limitation to 2 set up slots before you have to buy more from the Crown Store per character. Having to buy an assistant to change a set up is messy and feels like a money grab on top of having to buy extra set-up slots per character. The proposal would be significantly improved if:
    • set-ups could be changed within an instance out-of-combat (bearing in mind that you can change them currently with add-ons on PC and you could change them manually anyway)
    • remove the assistant (though I could live with this as long as it was cheap in the store)
    • make additional set-up slots per account rather than per character (unless they were very cheap I guess)

These suggestions sound very good, especially making the slots account wide.

Because sadly the crown store doesn't really know about "cheap", let alone "very cheap".

I would be happy to buy more slots, I'd be happy to shell out for an assistant, but as a console player I expected that if zos brought out something like this it would put us on a more equal footing with PC players as regarding timed content, but they've decided that the one place it's actually useful we can't use it!

That's ridiculous. So PC players can still have their dressing room addons making dungeon speed runs and trial trifectas easier, but we can't.

    Edit:
I know many of you aren't interested in Godslayer or Planesbreaker but it also applies to vet dungeons. Your group has a fake tank? You can't switch to your tank build in the dungeon. Your healer is bad? Can't switch to solo build on the fly. All the places that it makes a difference it can't be used.

Everywhere else, it's just a time saver. Nothing else.

I'm really looking forward to this as a console player. I have a little wish/hope that they put armoury stations in cities (next to outfit stations) so that I don't have to travel into my house if I don't buy the assistant. Yes they will be still be in a static location but people will be moving around cities anyway rather than having to travel into a house

Armory can change CP points (this becomes redundant as you gain more CP as you can buy the ones you'll want outright)

I am not entirely sure, but what was said and shown in eso live did not state that the CP point assignments could be changed for each build. I interpreted it as that you can change the slotables only. That would still mean you need to have high CP to unlock all slotables for all builds. But I can be mistaken. We'll see tomorrow in PTS.
