I don't RP but I like that I can mix the skins and costumes/outfits for a desired extra look. I also like the challenge of getting them rather than just playing everything on normal or casually.

No, for some reason almost every existing skin looks like it comes directly from the horror movies. I don't want these abominations anywhere near my character. I'd like to have more aesthetic skins.

I am using just two: the Meridian skin for my high priest of Magnus and the Maormer skin for my Sealady (as a jewelry and cosmetics, not as an actual skin).

I'll use one if it complements the outfit. I found the dragon's viscerant is awful on my dunmer and breton, but really cool for my argonian.

I just wish you could get ones like a warm tan. There are NPC’s who are both tanned and Nord, skin effects that you cannot get in the character creator. Why can we not buy one of these!?

But no, I cannot use it to hide my vampires ugly skin unlike every other elder scrolls game ever made! I can turn myself into an icicle or a fireball or a bush or a shadow but I can’t just have a nice tan!

Seriously, I just don’t get it. There’s so little in the crown store worth buying while this seems like an easy win but they’ve never done it and I just don’t understand why!

Most skins are ugly, and even half of the ones that aren't THAT ugly do awful things to a toons face making them look really haggard and old (vKA skin I am looking at you). But I do have a bunch I love that I wear constantly, like the Dro-m'Athra skin slaps on kitties as does Void Pathosis, my main is a templar breton with the Meridia one from DoM with also the glowy Meridia lines body markings because they go good together.

I use only one skin, the Slag Town Diver, on only one character, because i don't have more than one :))

It seemed perfect to impersonate a nefarious Altmer Templar that went rogue, thief and assassin and refused to fully recover his soul, whom is also wielding a magnificent black and gold cursed high elf spear that can sometimes spew lightning :)

IMO the other skins seem ugly, and surprisingly the paid skins are worse than the free ones that you can obtain in game.

One or two of them are quite well done, but I have no need of them. Besides, I quite like subtlety in appearance. Somebody once said my character just looked like a plain npc and honestly it made my day... ;)

I use them on most of my characters. I especially like the Dark Shaman + Deadlands Scorcher + Cursebound Senche-raht combo, the runes and colour schemes match perfectly and so do the spikey/daedric things.
It goes for most characters - Kyne's Fury, lightning mounts; one of the frosty skins, frosty mount, and so on.

I don't mind the concept of them, and I wouldn't rule out using one if it fit the character, but so far I haven't found any which fit any of my characters so I don't use them.

I like the effect of the slag town diver skin on my dark blue argonian, but it doesn't fit the character so I don't use it very often. Oh, and if I ever wanted to make an Ohmes khajiit I'd consider the sable manbeast skin.

I use sanctified silver on my magsorc, dromathra on my khajiit necromancer (together with the rahdmathra horse), fabrication sheath on my orc stamsorc, meridian purified on my MagDK, sometimes seaborn silver on my PvP blade, sometimes no skin. My spriggan magden permanently uses the spriggan poly, and my tanks either have no bare skin showing or only face markings.

To be honest, I don't really like the way most of them look. The few that I do really like, you can barely see well unless they are naked and since we have so few armours that allow for that much of the body to show properly, the skins themselves are wasted, so I have tons that have never seen the light of day.

I wish we were allowed more autonomy with how we can outfit our characters. I know it feels like we have plenty of options, but coming from other games with far more robust outfitting systems, this is an area of ESO which I feel has a lot of room to improve. Like... by miles! :D

That all said, I have gone recently into using some of them on my Sorc and my Necro, and for the most part I am ok with how they look. In some cases they add a little bit of fun which has worked in their favour. B)

I try out the ones I have briefly but don't stick with them.

Would have chosen "Only to hide ugly vampiric skin," -- but I have yet to obtain (or discover) a skin which can accomplish this without looking even worse.

When I first started playing all I wanted to do was earn my dro trial skin, lmao. It's funny how over the years once I've obtained them all I don't really bother equipping them anymore. I love my skelly poly and natural looking characters :p . I have only a few where I keep skins equipped between two entire accounts. D

Scorpion themed StamDK which I feel fabrication sheath goes perfect for his theme

My trial boi (gal) MagNB main (used only when running content w/ guild) The Z'maja Skin is pretty fugly (especially face & chest) except IMO the deep purple glow'y eyes..so I like my motif and hat for covering up most of all aside from her purple peeps B)...plus we worked our butts off for our +3 clear!

It depends on the character and class, background, race etc.
For me, it largely depends on the theme I want to go for. Not all skins really suit every race, either, nor every costume, outfit, or even body type (that fat towelled Nord that hangs around Vivec City on PC EU, for example, would have some really badly stretched visuals for just about any skin :P).

For my tank family (6 out of 18), I run Z'Maja with Emperor costume in matching colours. They're all more or less the same. I know, very original.
    unknown.png?width=331&height=675

For my DDs, it depends. Some use the Sunspire skin with a similar themed Emperor costume (admittedly I just haven't really changed it since Sunspire came out), mount, and pet, while others like my Khajiit nightblade have the Sable Man-Beast with the Beast personality.

Bath towel is not a skin, it is a costume. However, yes, skins are predominantly "ugly." My characters, particularly the females, are practically supermodels frolicking around throughout Tamriel. So, why the hell would I want to destroy their beautiful appearances with any ugly skin. Same goes with some personalities. Like the Alpha Predator personality, I laugh every time I see it and plenty of them rolling around in the game. They all look like goblins [snip]. Ha ha ha
