Am I the only one that thinks 10 outfit slots are a to few?

There are many improvements ZOS could make to outfitting, increasing the number of outfits is one. Personally I would like to see ZOS untie outfits from gear. So when we save an outfit, we actually save an outfit. Allowing us to freely change gear without ruining our outfits.

Very very late edit: It already works this way. I probably did something wrong the first time I used it.

I have a hard enough time finding pieces for one outfit, because I won't display anything with tassets... which is almost everything...

Two (maybe 3 at a stretch), is "half"? Huh.

The vast majority are "1 is enough, I just change that outfit as needed" or "they're too expensive to justify buying more, so I make do with 1 slot."

They are too pricey for a single character only. I really think sales would jump if they were consistently 1000 max.

On my 'main' several characters I have at least two outfits each. Waited for the outfit slots to go on sale.

It's so hard to see things during fights (separate issue) I consider it important for player characters to be distinctive.

Ideally, group members should be able to tell each other apart with all the dead bodies lying on the ground. Be able to recognize which person in front of them is the DPS vs. tank or healer without having to compare name vs. role. At least when our corpses aren't piles of ash.

I always play with names and health bars visible, but in trials especially it can be really hard to keep track of people. With my tanks, the characters are very tall and gaudy just to try and make it easier.

Though with PvP sometimes you don't want to be bright orange or white 24/7  . I have different outfits for that.

I agree. I bought one when they first came out and thought it was for more than one character, when I learned it was only one, I never bought another...

I'm fine with three (including the one they gave to us). I can't imagine there being ten outfit styles I'd love that much.

I doubt anybody who bought an outfit slot -- without discussing it with other players first -- knew they were getting it for a single character only.

Never in a million years would I buy one of those outfit slots, which are only good for a single character, at the ridiculous price they are charging. But of course I would like to have more outfit slots, since I change my characters’ looks often. So I am forced to ignore the outfit system and use costumes instead, which I can change and dye for free, since I have ESO+.

The whole outfit system is a big /fail as far as I’m concerned, because of the 1500 crown price for only *one* extra slot.

They should have a gold purchase option, in the same way you can upgrade your inventory/bank space with the increasing gold cost, instead of being crown only.

As for a total limit I don't think there should be one, or it should be a relatively high number if people want to buy 100 outfit slots, 100 character slots I say let them, there is only so many they will actually be able to use.

I agree. Bought one, once and resented it too much to dishout for any more

Have 10 and would buy more. So yes. Btw they do discount them in the crown store from time to time, now that I am maxed it gets me mad when I can't get more for my main. Especially when they keep adding motifs... Go to the fashion thread. Lots of people there really enjoy this part of the game. Not your thing? Fine. My thing. My money. I see no impact to player base by adding 5 to 10 more slots for those of us who want em.

going from 1500 crowns to 1200 crowns is hardly a discount, especially for an outfit.

To put it into perspective, that's $12-15 USD for a single slot on a single character. Like, maybe we should stop using crowns in explaining how expensive some of these things are, and just lay out the cash price because there is very clearly(and purposefully) a disconnect when people say crowns.

Probbably I would conside buying one or 2 if they would be per account and not per character.

This is me also. I believe ZOS messed up when they made it character based and not account based. They just refuse to fix the mistake they made despite many requests from people on the forums. It's just one of the many areas where ZOS did not listen to its player base. Get that once something is released, they don't change it very often but people where very vocal about this from the beginning and the longer ZOS ignored the worse and harder it has become to change.

Really just wish they would say hey we decided to change this for our players and to anyone who purchased over the total amount of available slots we will give them some exp. scrolls or something from the crown store in its place of equal value because Lord knows they will not give you money back and I would not expect them to.

To those they want more I see no reason as to why they can't have more if they want them.

Stay safe everyone and ZOS please fix the green tree micromanaging :)

Yes. 😅 But to elaborate a bit more; probably there are others too but I’d guess you represent a minority here. I feel that the price for one slot is way too high for it being for one character only. *If* they’d be account wide, I’d happily pay even a slightly higher price (maybe 2-2,5k for one extra slot for all chars or something like that, and maybe 700 for a slot for one character), but with the current pricing I’ve only bought one extra slot for three characters, and all of those with a discount.

And as a serious question; what do you use all of the 10 slots for? Do you swap between them regularly, based on the zone you’re in, based on the activity, or how do you utilise the slots? Because my solution for “saving” nice outfits has always been screenshotting the pieces and colours before creating a new one, in case I want to return to one later (usually I don’t). The few chars with two slots I either have one outfit for warm weather look and one for cold weather look or two different colour or utility schemes (e.g. one with heavier armours and one with nice dress, or for a warden one nature/green themed outfit and one ice themed).

Pretty much yea. I have some healing themed outfits, more tanky outfits for pvp and so on. I really like a lot of motifs and what you can do with it so I switch my outfit every 2 hours or so.

Same here. I was lucky to read the description that it wasn't account wide upgrade, I'd say most of us does expect that.
So yea 1 slot seems to be enough for me too, until they make account wide option with reasonable price.

    This.
Not paying for extra when I can just change my outfit.
And I have 16 characters on two platforms.
Why would you need outfit slots for just one?

    Yes new outfits like everyday.
I don't toss my ensemble away.
    - I have a pvp look.
    - Some Azura worship garb
    - A bunch of casual outfits etc.
    - Crafting outfits while doing writs etc.
    - Formal affairs for guild etc.
    - sneaky thief look etc.
    - sexy time ;)

What would be great with outfits?
If these were coupled with a load out option. But all I want is the ability to make new combos of new motifs without having to wipe out previous made ones or pick and choose a style over another. Refining my favorite looks has been a mini game in itself. So yeah more please... ZOS I'm buying.

I think I've only bought like 2 additional spots, because not being account wide, they simply aren't worth it.

That, and as many have said, if you need to change your outfit, you can just go change your outfit. I only have one alternate outfit that I want to have saved, and it's because I use it for specific guild event. Otherwise, when I want to run some new motif / style pages, I just change it. Better to spend in game gold than to spend real world money.

My insight on this issue comes from being a rper. I have 18 characters total. I have 1 main character. I have a few that I play semi-regularly. On my main, I have purchased, over time ONLY when they were on sale,. all outfit slots. Only 1 other character has outfit slots, and they only have 3 of them.

My main is a GMC and has most motifs. I collect most buyable outfit and weapon styles even if they are craftable or not. The frequency of which I change my outfits is truly sporadic. I could change it if I unlock a new dye, got a new style, or I had a bit of the giggle lettuce and was just having fun. Or I was just brainstorming. My point being, Having the freedom to change it as often as I can afford to is not limited to my number of outfit slots.

Would I buy more outfit slots if they released more? Yes. I would only do this on my main, and when they go on sale. Never, ever buy outfit slots at full price. I say yes I would because I often rename my outfits and change them because I LOVE options and I make a lot of ideas and like having the illusion of an armory and slipping into whatever I want to gear up in on command, and I have been saving over outfits that I like and I would enjoy more of them.

Eh. The free one's enough. I get a look for every character (60 at this point) and that's it. I'm not into changing stuff once I've got looks nailed.
