It also will make all other UI sounds go away, but at least it might be a temporary fix for now. And it shouldn't affect combat sound effects or environmental sounds or voice sounds.

I read this earlier and just remembered to try it. Haven't heard the sound in maybe an hour of gameplay, but it's also super off hours in NA. I'll update again around primetime tomorrow, but I suggest you all try it as well!

I forgot to mention this earlier because I forgot about the sound entirely, but I just played a bit more with the UI sounds off and had NO bugged notification pings (or any non-bugged ones too of course). So, as Wolf_Eye suggested, the temporary fix is to go to Settings -> Audio, then the UI slider -> 0.

Dolgubon has created a new addon as a temporary fix until they find a way to resolve this. The addon name is Notification Sound Bug Blocker.

I disabled the addon No Thank You, and I thought that was the issue. Need to test it more now.

When You are in big guilds and people completes arenas, trials - You are getting that "ding"( leaderboard notification) often and disable leaderbord notifications does not help.
I hope ZOS going to fix this faster than they "fixed" - potion used sound.

Hello all. I just recently came back to the game. I am enjoying blackwood so far!

I am getting this bug hourly, sometimes more than that. Seems to happen often when zoning.

I am not in a guild, so no leaderboard stuff should be sending me notifications.

Anyway, so I was not sure if this bug has been fixed but for some reason I am still getting it, or if its still coming in a future patch.

I managed to silence it with the FCOChangeStuff addon, although that means I don't get a sound even when I do actually have mail now.

Why did this change in the first place and why is it still happening on both PC and console?

I still get the mail notification sound whenever I change zones on my alt account, but not on my main account.

It's not that big of a deal since I do not often play my alt account, but it still got me curious as to what is causing it. I did make sure those leaderboard notifications are OFF.

I still get the notification sound as well. Every time I change zones, the mail icon flashes and gives me the notification noise but I have no mail. It's extremely annoying.

@ZOS_GinaBruno Is there anything I can do to fix this?

Getting new mail notification every time i change zones and I have no mail what so ever.

Seems to be getting worse again,
logon - mail notice - 8 out of 18 there is no mail for several minutes after the 'noise'!
