I am unable to fish in Wrothgar

Maintenance for the week of March 31:

    Yup, just checked, same here. Approached a saltwater hole in southwest Wrothgar along the coast, selected saltwater bait, pressed A on my controller. Sometimes the screen blinks very briefly as if something is going to happen but nothing does, but most often there's no screen changes and - no fishing. Never casts the fishing line.

    Wow, me too. PC NA, I can choose bait but not fish...weird.

    I do get the "twitch" like my character is almost going to fish, then nothing.
    Tenesi Faryon of Telvanni - Dunmer Sorceress who deliberately sought sacrifice into Cold Harbor to rescue her beloved.
    Hisa Ni Caemaire - Altmer Sorceress, member of the Order Draconis and Adept of the House of Dibella.
    Broken Branch Toothmaul - goblin (for my goblin characters, I use either orsimer or bosmer templates) Templar, member of the Order Draconis and persistently unskilled pickpocket
    Mol gro Durga - Orsimer Socerer/Battlemage who died the first time when the Nibenay Valley chapterhouse of the Order Draconis was destroyed, then went back to Cold Harbor to rescue his second/partner who was still captive. He overestimated his resistance to the hopelessness of Oblivion, about to give up, and looked up to see the golden glow of atherius surrounding a beautiful young woman who extended her hand to him and said "I can help you". He carried Fianna Kingsley out of Cold Harbor on his shoulder. He carried Alvard Stower under one arm. He also irritated the Prophet who had intended the portal for only Mol and Lyris.

    Order Draconis - well c'mon there has to be some explanation for all those dragon tattoos.
    House of Dibella - If you have ever seen or read "Memoirs of a Geisha" that's just the beginning...
    Nibenay Valley Chapterhouse - Where now stands only desolate ground and a dolmen there once was a thriving community supporting one of the major chapterhouses of the Order Draconis

    Just checked. PC NA, never used or installed addons and I use a controller for gameplay. Can't fish either.

    I tried to fish last night and couldn't. Disappointing this is STILL not fixed, days after it was reported.

    So many bugs reported during this event, and little to no acknowledgement that they've been seen (if so, it has taken days), and definitely little to no fixes.

    I was never one to jump on the bandwagon of complaining about how things like this are handled, but this event for me has been the pinnacle of what others have pointed out before me - there is an absolute lack of care and maintaining of the game, and the players pay the price. What a shame.

    There has been one hotfix and 2 patches since this was reported, we have no update, acknowledgment or answers about it ...

    what is happening with this all the other zones are fine ; can we get some update please ?

    I never fish but I tested this and yes, unfortunately I can fish elsewhere but not in Wrothgar today.

    We understand a logging-into-Cyrodiil-bug was an emergency and warranted a hotfix. We get iit... fishing is not...err... high in your priority list. You should know, however, there is a big group in the community who logs into ESO to fish. We enjoy it, we relax fishing, fish is a trade commodity these days with perfect roe prices skyrocketing everywhere. So, not being able to fish in a zone where many anglers go to do just that is... well... underwhelming for more people than you can estimate. Make a poll. You will be surprised.

    Just as an example: This thread has more views and comments than the bug in taunt... a taunt bug has less interest than a fishing bug. That is... illuminating, I would guess.

    Any update on this bug would be nice. Even if it is the "We are looking into this" update (aka "we will call you"). Just to know you are still aware the bug is there.

    It is not a priority, period. It will be fixed when the event is done, being it is the cause. I can see a dev saying exactly this.. They have all of tamriel, they can go elsewhere until the event is over.. Period.

    How do you know the event is the cause? Or are you speculating, @omegatay_ESO? The bug appeared after the DLC drop, 2 days before the event. In addition, I can fish in Craglorn, which is one of the zones celebrating the event. We would appreciate if you share any additional information that we are unaware of.

    There’s no Wrothgar fishing bug on Xbox so I would suggest the bug on PC is due to U31.

    Of course it's due to U31. As @xpolilla said, it started after the DLC drop, 2 days before the event.

    PC EU, tried to fish outside Wrothgar and it worked fine. In Wrothgar - still doesn't work.

    Here is the perfect example of how this bug affects the entire community, further than anglers. It affects the economy. Check the trends of perfect roe on the price checking addons.

    This is mine (trends added by hand but I am sure JoinPoint, a trend software, would pick it up as well): you can see the change in trends after the bug appeared. The change in trend on perfect roe is a reflection of less quantity of fish in the market, and drives up the prices of all xp potions and food that are made with perfect roe up. Which ends in customers having to pay extra... because of a bug.

    However, it is still not addressed... nor we know if it will... or even if devs are aware this bug remains...

    It's likely that it's a combination of the bug, and the fact there's an event running so no one's fishing much. I'm fishing, but I NEVER sell my Perfect Roe.

    I don't buy the idea that the bug has anything to do with it, because people can always fish in other zones. IMHO, anytime the price on something goes up at the guild traders, it's because the players who are selling it decided to raise their asking prices, and they don't need any reason at all to do that.
