    Maybe it's the leather squeaking?

Could be, to me that's a more likely source than purring. If that sound is supposed to be a purr, someone at Zos needs to spend more time with cats. A) No cat on this planet purrs like that; B) cats don't fart audibly.

I'm not asking for much, just a small change to a single audio file.

Ok so I logged on and have been staring at little Khamira for like ten mins now and have yet to hear a single fart. I am disappointed.

You don't hear that sound? Others have commented that it could be squeaking leather, like I said it could be because it's more of a rapid fire ruffling sound, not a loud belching sound. Maybe try playing around with your ambient sounds.

I would change my ambient sounds but I'm not about to sacrifice enjoyment of my world environment because of some high-velocity cat farts.

Uh... this is very much not true. Like everything else, it varies by cat. I had a cat who farted quite loudly. Had to change food (no rice!), because they were stanky, too.

Whoah! I've been a cat person all my life and I've *never* heard a cat fart, but I believe you (and you have my condolences)!

Real life aside, ESO cats should *not* fart audibly imo.

I think I heard what you are talking about and it is really just a gurgly purr.

Nope. It is a fart. Or as we said in Thailand (phonetically) "toot poot"

My Thai isn’t great but… like tood phud? Butt speaking/saying? I haven’t heard that expression before but that’s pretty funny.

Also, spent like 10 mins with three guildies waiting for little Khamira to fart, none of us heard it 🤷🏻‍♂️

Have this pet. No ‘fart’ noises.

And yes, did test out in the middle of nowhere.

The noises are normal cat noises. OP you say you are a cat person - have you never had your cat make noises other than purr or meow?! All of mine used to make all kinds of noises, from ones similar to this, to chittering at birds, to screeching when fighting.

It’s a normal cat noise, and I DON’T want it ‘fixed’.

I don't know about you, but all of my cats have been "fixed", so I'm not worried about that.

Yes, cats make all kinds of noises. But this sound (which may not appear for everyone, perhaps) is a fast, rather high-pitched ruffling that is not a purr, not a meow, and nothing like anything any of my cats have ever done.

I'll try and make a video and post it for public consumption. Um, that didn't come out right, but you know what I mean.

If that isn't a fart, I don't know what is. He even stands up and raises his butt a little.

    Lol, I'm crying... Hahahahaha.

I see where you get the idea of fart from. For me, sounds more like a stretching sound, but I see where you're going with it. :D

Since this thread started I was dying to hear it. Now that I have, it sounds like a stretching purr to me. Slightly disappointed :(

Still want fart or belching emotes 😆

A stretching purr? My IRL cats never do anything like that, but ok, let's just say it's not flatulence and it's just stretching, purring, rapping, whatever you want to call it ... it's too loud relative to the environment. Now admittedly, I have all the other sounds turned off except for Ambience in the video, so it's not as loud in cities or overland crossings, etc. But again, I'm a thief. I sneak. I'm quiet. I paid real dollar$ for this pet and I love her, she's adorable. But could we please tone down her faux fart just a bit? It is quite immersion breaking to be sneaking around quietly and stealthily, and suddenly have my pet let out a big one.

    I'm the one who's disappointed.

That doesn't sound anything like a fart to me. It just looks and sounds like he's stretching as he's standing up.

The cat makes this noise at all times, no matter what she's doing: walking around, getting up, sitting still. It may be *intended* to be a stretching sound, but it doesn't correlate to any in game animation, it just happened to be at the time she was getting up in that video.

Regardless of what it is, it's still obtrusive, unexpected and immersion breaking to me and I'd like to see it toned down.

All my cats (and I've had a LOT of cats over my lifetime - probably closing in on 50....) have made oddball sounds like that - not that exact sound, things that aren't purring or bird-chattering, or growling but are part of each different cat's vocalizing.

One of my "growlers" (he spent a lot of time on the back of our couch staring out the window at squirrels and chipmunks, growling at them - and the times raccoons, foxes and larger animals showed up on the deck or outside the fence, he'd get serious about it, sounding like he was going to explode!) did sound quite a bit like kitty pet Khamira. Now I'm really sorry I didn't buy her.... Shadowfax has been in kitty heaven for nearly 10 years, and I still miss him....

If I hadn't seen the cat getting up and only heard the sound, I would just think it was a purr. I know you want a quiet cat because you don't want it blowing your cover, but not everyone who has this cat wants it to be quiet.

It would be great if they added an audio slider specific to pet sounds so players could control this.

That's not the only pet that does that sound. I'm pretty sure all the feline "cub" type pets do it. The Dro-m'athra kitten does it too, for example. Always thought it was meant to be some sort of distorted, baby growl of sorts.Like when they yawn or stretch.

God, now I want this pet even more than ever.

That sound effect is supposed to be the vocalizations of a baby of a large cat species. Look up videos of a lion cub trying to roar. (Or watch the Lion King, but the real lion cub is cuter.) Now listen to the Khamira senche cub again. Much more adorable than when you thought it was a fart, no?

    Greetings all,

We have decided to close this thread, given it is about a year old, and as there have been many updates to the game since. If players feel this is still an issue, please feel free to create a new thread to continue the discussion with any and all updated information. We would also recommend submitting an in-game bug report about the matter as well.

    Thank you for your understanding,
