Spirit Mender does not proc Magma Incarnate

Magma Incarnate (Monster set)
(2 items) When you heal yourself or a group member with a single target heal ability, grant the lowest Health group member within 28 meters Minor Courage and Minor Resolve, increasing their Weapon and Spell Damage by 215 and Armor by 2974 for 10 seconds. Daedric Energy will then bounce to a nearby group member within 8 meters, up to 3 times, applying Minor Courage and Minor Resolve for 10 seconds. This effect can occur once every 15 seconds.

I did some testing and it seems Spirit Mender does not fulfill the 'single target heal ability' portion of Magma Incarnate, despite working with other skills with identical descriptions.

Healing Ward (restoration staff skill)
Call on your staff's strength to protect you or the lowest health ally around you with a damage shield that absorbs 2399 damage. The shield's strength is increased by up to 100%, depending on the severity of the target's wounds. While the shield persists, the target is healed for 33% of the shield's remaining strength every second.

^ procs Magma Incarnate (despite being a damage shield instead of a heal)

Spirit Mender (Necromancer skill)
Conjure a ghostly spirit to do your bidding and stay by your side for 16 seconds. The spirit heals you or the lowest Health ally around you every 2 seconds, restoring 1370 Health. While active, 10% of the damage you take is transferred to the spirit instead. Creates a corpse on death.

The mender is technically a pet according to the game, and it's not you, yourself doing the heal. The wording even reflects that.

    Magma: When YOU heal...etc

    Mender: THE SPIRIT heals you...etc

Damn... That seems rather silly of a distinction. It's a skill that does single target healing, no?

There's a lot of skills and sets in this game that are just really wonky together and questionable when it comes to identification. Some of them don't make sense.

Even Blastbones and the Mage/Archer are not considered "you" for the purposes of several sets. For example, they will not activate Elemental Catalyst.

Yeah pets don't proc sets in any case from what I've heard and tested
Add a Scribing skill that works like Arcanist beam.
    ---
Veteran players have been alienated and disengaged from Overland since One Tamriel, due to the lack of difficulty, and pushed into dungeons and trials; the minority of content in the Elder Scrolls Online. We can't take the repetition anymore, fix Overland engagement for Vet players. I don't even care if it's not combat related anymore, just make Overland engaging again.
    ---
Overland difficulty scaling is desperately needed. 10 years. 6 paid expansions. 25 DLCs. 41 game changing updates including One Tamriel, an overhaul of the game including a permanent CP160 gear cap and ridiculous power creep thereafter. I'm sick and tired of hearing about Cadwell Silver & Gold as a "you think you do but you don't" - tier deflection to any criticism regarding the lack of overland difficulty in the game. I'm bored of dungeons, I'm bored of trials; make a personal difficulty slider for overland. Make a self debuff mythic. Literally anything at this point.

I think the real difference is that the proc depends on who activated a skill that heals.

For the Spirit Mender, the player summons the spirit, but the spirit acts on it's own to cast the heal. The player doesn't cast the heal.

For the Matriarch, the player summons the matriarch, and the player has to command, activate the skill again, the matriarch to heal. Therefore, the player is casting the heal.

In either case, they are both a pet, but in the sorcerer's case, the player has to activate a skill to cast the heal.
