If you log in in any platform you will have the same progress, same character, same everything
So you could link a ps, xbox and the pc equivalent to your eso account (kind of like twitch link for drops) and no matter on what you log on you would get the same character list

And is Destiny2 a game like ESO with guilds and a constant server? Does that mean everybody plays on the same server? Or do character actions not have an effect on the world?
The difference is that FF 14 has +50 servers / realms, ESO has 6 using its megaserver system.like FF 14 and there is no problem

It would be nice to play with more people. Smaller que times for dungeons and BGs, more people in cyrodiil. Better trade and item accessibility. I don't see any harm besides more guilds competing for space. ESO feels empty, maybe time to enable crossplay.

i don't use addons outside quest map and several other players also don't.
the majority of the playerbase probably doesn't.
