I was able to update my PTS and login, create a character and play around a bit yday. But today I can't seem to login at all, I am stuck in the loading screen that comes right after the login
Have you turn on multithreading? It crashes your game like that...
I had it during my first run, but later I switched off the option since I wasn't able to go out of the loading screen, no change
Try changing it in the usersetting file. If you change thing in game but have an unsuccessful log out (if you need to kill the process for example) it often does not save your last settings adjustments during that session.

If you are playing on Steam you'll need to locate your Documents folder, select Elder Scrolls Online and then PTS. Open the UserSettings.txt file and edit the line SET RENDER_THREAD "1" and change this to 0. Save the file and then restart the game. This will turn off Multithreaded Rendering.
If you aren't using Steam you can accomplish the same from the account login page. In the upper left corner select settings and set Multithreaded Rendering to off. Select back from the options on that page then quit in the upper right corner. Restart the game and it will no longer be active.
