Give us passives we can use our points on, not more stars we will never switch to or from once we make our builds.

Or at least revert passives utility to it`s previous state when CP 2.0 was released. CP passives in the current state is a joke.

From a tank perspective, I don't really want the new point to be passives. Sure, I will now have almost unlimited sustain and can survive any hit thrown at me, but all would result in is that I will get more CP to be better, not improve my own skill to be better.
Of course I'm not going to use half the stars in there, but that does not mean that those stars are useless to everyone. More novice players don't really care for all kinds of fancy perks making them more nimble and flexible, they just want to stay alive.
PVP and PVE players have clearly different needs in tanking with the addition of things like crit and way more dynamic battlefield.
And among same level of tank there are even differences due to different playstyle, or even different needs depending on the trial you do.
A 1 size fits all isn't the way to go imo, but building around your specific style is. That help you understand your style and level more than just being able to blindly copy a build and be done with it till next patch where you add some more CP somewhere(the very old system).

Though, I do agree that 4 slots might be a bit low with the amount of stars we have now. I think 5 slottable start would eleviate some of the uselessness of all the CP you get past 1000.

    Agreed.

Also, they should not have increased the speed at which people get CP in the earlier stages, if it was just going to be a "hurry up and wait" scenario.

I do both pvp and pve aspects on multiple toons and as soon as I hit the 1200 range, i basically had what was needed for both and had to start throwing points into things that are mostly useless, just to avoid ocd aggro.

CP, with skilled players absolutely added power creep.

False - The original CP was frontloaded to hell and capped for years while power crept along beyond belief because of OP gear sets and poorly thought out attempts at balancing. Skilled players simply took advantage of those 2 things and CP stayed exactly as impactful in any build as it always had been.

1.0 contributed almost nothing to power creep for 2/3yrs or more - the myth it did has been sold by ZOS to justify this watered down and thoroughly underwhelming excuse for an endgame system where they continually reduce our power and options elsewhere to be sold back to us via slotted stars.

They are the used car salesmen of game systems. They will continue to add gimmicky slottables shaving off power from other essentials that will still be ignored for the basics in both blue and red because those things should be passives in the first place.

Maybe the game is more performant with this system and that’s just fine - but don’t sell it along with a pack of lies about choices and options that is just a greasy way to say we’re railroading your builds from now on because your “choices” are all that’s left after we remove enough options.

Under CP 1.0 from CP600 to CP810 I gained probably less than 3K dps. Switching to 2.0 I actually dipped at first but after some adjustments I still got back up to where I was under the old CP. The DPS loss was less a product of the new CP system and more a result of the crit nerf.

Of course they turned around and literally sold us our crit back in the form of mythic pants. They also gave us back master at arms and through a combination of those two things myself and others are now hitting harder than ever. Of course that came about as the result of also nerfing monster sets literally pigeon holing all of us into the same gear.

The next round of armor changes I think is intended to add some flavour back to the game but I don’t see it doing much other than being a time, rss, gold sink at the end of the day.

Of course it looks like they are also selling some more stealth nerfs to passives all in the name of balance. Cutting mag/stam/health recovery does nothing to the top players but again mid and low tier will bear the force of this nerf the most and fall further behind. Real balance going on there right?

    That green tree... :s

THIS I can agree with. Either add more slots for the green tree or make more of them passives. Depending on what I'm doing, deconning gear, fishing, farming, thieveing I have to constantly remember to swap around what's slotted. WHY?? I have the points in them.
All it is is annoying, and getting peeved when I pick up a survey and forgot to switch what was slotted.
It's not addressing anything in the game except making it more annoying.

The green tree is just pointless book keeping, I’ve got the same four stars slotted on every charecter but if I go fishing it’s spontaneous and I cannot be bothered switching back and forth

I would like slot-ables that change "physical" and "magical" damage into Poison, Disease, Bleed, Flame, Shock, or Frost.
    Playing since beta...

The whole point of CP 2.0 was making choices with slottables rather than having everything all the time with passives

No, the real point of CP 2.0 was the lazy man's way to improve performance without making changes to the servers or game engine.

    This.

Really loving the improved performance! They're killing it!
