Pretty legit patch notes

Looks like quite a few of the long-held complaints about pvp have been addressed. Ball groups, over-powered ganks, stealth nonsense (as a magblade it's constant), etc. Addressed destro staff deficiencies.

I am pleased :3 I am curious to see what criticisms folks in zone have, as I see a few, but this is a much more interesting patch than the last two.

I'd also like no-proc to be alliance locked... The alliance lock is the thing that really brings pvp alive, and I believe unlocked factions are responsible for a lot of the toxic behavior on non-grey host servers. Perhaps switching alliances for the next campaign should be more clear, and only a single _non_-alliance locked server should exist. Sub-50 can be whatever.

It's terrible if you play PVE stamina.

I personally wish they would just fix the way certain proc sets work rather than take them out of cyrodiil

I would like these notes if they weren't deleting my home campaign in Cyrodiil.

Hard to get excited for new sets and balance changes when they're banned in the content that you play the most.

They didn't really change anything from last patch. It's not terrible for stam it is the same, unless I am missing a clear nerf somewhere.

I liked these notes for the most part. Much more than the last 4-5 updates. As a pvp stamplar main, potl not being absolute trash sounds great! Our guild in cyro plays in ravenwatch, and the removal of procs from that is a bit annoying. Having to have different gear for cyro and bgs is frustrating.
Other than that, unleashed terror got nerfed again, so I'll likely be dropping that.
    Still, decent notes!

Medium Armor apparently no longer provides Critical Chance which will set it even further behind Magicka in PvE.

The armor changes are a little strange, Stamina builds may want to wear some Light Armor pieces to build crit chance and physical penetration, since medium only gives weapon/spell damage and crit damage now. Still need some medium pieces for sustain I assume.

I actually think that they’ll remain mostly in medium armor, since Alkosh was buffed and a similar tank set was added that can stack with it, penetration will be no issue. So stamina builds may lose up to 7% crit chance in exchange for some crit damage, but they also have access to some excellent crit sets like Advancing Yokeda, so I don’t believe they are entirely dead.

It doesn’t appear to be in the patch notes. I might have missed it, but there’s only one light armor change under the “Armor”
    category.

    Pretty big thing to omit...

ETA: Oh it’s buried under passive changes. Should be called out in the armor section, imo, especially as that’s where they have previously put all armor passive changes.

Lmfao. They "addressed" ball groups alright... by making them stronger. We're gonna see two new powerful weapons this patch: a stamina VD, and a set whose bonus prevents "zergs" from spreading out to avoid ulti bombs.

From the perspective of an actual "ball group" organizer: Absolutely fantastic. Couldn't be better.

But from the perspective of someone concerned about healthy game balance: This is a poorly conceived solution to the problem because it fails to understand what makes ball groups powerful in PVP, and ignores the underlying incentive structure that overwhelmingly encourages and rewards "farming" behaviors.

Proxy Det also dynamically scales for stamina builds now and does much more damage to larger groups than it did to smaller groups.

Patch notes are horrible. Nothing will die in PvP, they force everybody to slot a freaking PvE taunt skill, they kinda nuke no CP campaign by disabling sets which aren't an issue anymore and combat will be more boring than ever (still cast times on ults, tons of buff skills instead of actual fun to use skills). Like one of the worst patch notes I've seen so far tbh, makes me really wonder if the devs even care about PvP anymore.

@doesurmindglow Bring a templar and have them wear Dark Convergence and Hrothgar's. When the zerg follows you into a tower, one ritual means everyone is snared, pulled in, stunned, and hit with a 10-20k damage proc each.

Templar drops the nova from the center, rest of the group rips on the templar, everything dies.

I'm not terribly creative and I rarely run comp and even I can see how this is gonna be busted af lol

They add all these cool new medium Stam sets only to make them useless thanks to medium armour passive nerfs. Kinras is no longer viable outside of NB and necros. I think it pisses on build diversity to take the crit chance from medium armour. What is the upside to this change?

Yeah maybe meta classes are fine on Stam by why change this? What is their goal? I think they would be getting a lot less back lash if they but a dev note here, it's arguably their biggest change since CP 2.0.

At first I was upset about the patch notes but honestly now I dont mind the changes.
I had someone tell me the numbers on the PTS and honestly they buffed us especially StamDK lol. We lost 7% crit chance in exchange for 14% crit damage and crit healling. If your wearing the BiS setup which would be 5 Relequan, 5 Tzovgin, 1 slimecraw, and haroonpers kilt with 7 medium, then its a huge buff. In your wearing daggers then your still going to crit over 70% and I think over 80% fully buffed with minor and major savagery. With Two-Handed your still going to crit around 64% and fully buffed 70%. You could also go 1 light and 6 medium for an extra 930 penetration and 1% crit.
At first I was upset about the PTS but now im ok with it. I wouldnt mind ZoS reverting the crit nerf on our CP from 320 back to 640

Also our 14% extra weapon damage from Agility will be buffed to weapon and spell damage so really good for StamDKs and other classes that can utilized hybrid builds
