Exactly. They forget that the "strong group" they're referring to had to prog for weeks, if not months.

Godslayer, not only because you need certain skills, knowledge, builds, and time/effort for it, but you need 11 other people doing the same as well. The first two certainly also need time/effort but you can do them on your own.

Clearly Godslayer, imo. Our trial guild is decent but if we go back to prog'n GS I think we'll loose a few guildies in the process like before...some had a wee bit too many rage moments/blame game :#

Kudos to everyone who has earned this glorious achievement!

lol it doesn't take that long to get the mechs and timing down which is the key to trial runs, especially the dragons in SS because they don't move about so they do roughly the same things every run in the same spot. I used to be in a trial guild with a core group that was a well oiled machine with matching sets and everything so it would only take a couple runs to get trifecta...sadly it fell apart due to drama and irl issues and I haven't found a good replacement guild since that is hardcore without being toxic.

    Master Angler, definitely.

I mean where do people find the willpower to stand there pressing 'E' to pull the slot machine arm over and over and over again? How do they do it without becoming desensitized to their own dopamine? How do they keep their sanity?

Godslayer, the players I know that got the title got into a progression group, trained, coordinated, worked towards a goal for weeks - longer if you consider the effort they put into knowing their chosen class/build well enough to even get into a progression group to start with - and eventually after drama, carpal tunnel syndrome, hair pulling frustration, sweat and tears they got it.

It was an exhilarating experience for them, so much so that it was contagious. Akin to watching 'your team' win even though you were just in the pub downing pints and contributing zilch to the whole outcome.

Master angler is the opposite, at least to me; is one of those miserable undertakings that you cannot wait for them to be over even before you start.

I can manage maybe a zone a year, and that is being generous. And only because once every so often I gut a fish and I get perfect roe, which is useful to me. So I tell myself that I am doing it for the perfect roe.

lol I already answered the first 2 naysayers...believe it or not some us find it easier to complete tough combat challenges then farming ones. I have some of the tough ones done but I'll never get master angler or the skyshard hunter (forget name) because going around doing bland, repetative things is like needles under my nails torturous. I'm probably one of the only mmo players who loathes all forms of farming...been playing since release and I still haven't even farmed enough materials to be able to purchase the furnishings like the ore, trap, etc.

A good trial group already knows their own classes and each others well so half the battle is done before stepping in to any trial...that leaves learning mechs and timing. Learning those by jumping in the deep end for a new trial is indeed hard so we would wait until others cleared it and posted mechs online so all we had to do is put it into practice and get the timing down.
I'm not the best but I wonder why so many people struggle in trials like they're noobs who never used their class before. It's like 1 night I joined a nKA pug as a dps with 2 tanks and 2 healers, everyone at least 800cp and up yet I was the last man standing at the giant boss by the ship lol

YOu're comparing a raid team (group of people who have planned out sets/strats BEFORE setting foot in the instance) and a PUG. That's apples and oranges.

Here's the best example I can give of the difference a sold, set team vs a pug:

A guildie was organizing vSS grind groups, and they were VERY strict on linking your clear on that role. Still, 3/5 runs he'd be back in guild asking for a raid lead to come in because the group was falling apart. Every person in there has cleared at least once, they know what to do, and it still falls apart. Having a good leader, and knowing your teammates makes all the difference.

Groups offering carries are either substituting 1 person into a group that is prepared for dead weight, or are part of a guild that is ONLY people who are prepared to "pug" a carry. Also, I have met a lot of really good players who struggle with mechanics. They can't "see" interrupt lines, no matter how many times I stream examples or post screen caps. Some can't handle watching for un-telegraphed charges on bosses. (tank can aim the Haj Mota in vBRP into the wall but sometimes the DPS have to dodge out of the path. I'm not a goddess)

P.S. - I also realize a lot of trial title carry groups will ask for your login information because there is no way to complete a trifecta with someone who is guaranteed to die. Since that's a clear TOS violation, not talking about that.

the original question didn't ask if godslayer was harder to pug...of course that would be a resounding yes lol. I only mentioned the weak pug in my last post because it's always been mind boggling to me how so many struggle in trials as if this is the first time they're using their class in a group..people who are mid-high level cp running around like chickens with their heads cut off or tanks who act like they've never had to hold aggro on a boss and survive before.

If you haven’t done it yourself you can watch streams or YouTube videos. From my personal experience progressing to ttt, gh, gs, etc could take months with several raids every week. If that would be easy why it took several months top raiding groups to get it? Even with new trial most still progressing hard modes, not tri festa. It’s true you can get in experienced group as a replacement and get it relatively easy but as you can imagine it’s fairly rare. And carry for godslayer cost 200-250 mil gold, I’m not aware of anyone who bought it.

I'm saying it's much easier and takes less time to progress if you already have a solid trial team and research the mechs and mishaps beforehand from other teams who have completed it first. My team never tried to be the first to complete new trials because that's much more frustrating with lots of wipes....even with research and planning vSS still has wipes even when you know it's coming like the death headbutt lol because human error is always a factor

I genuinely find fishing in this game enjoyable and relaxing. I do it for fun sometimes. I have master angler. I understand how finding it mind numbingly boring and as a result nearly impossible to complete would make it hard, but making that a reason for it being harder that godslayer for example doesn't feel correct to me, don't really know why. Maybe I'm too biased
