Blackwood portals hard to find?

Probably just me but I ran into a few on the first few days and then nothing, hadn't seen any until last night when I ran into two of them. Are they intentionally hard to see from a distance? I guess maybe I'm just used to dark anchors and harrowstorms.

Same here, the first day or two I saw several and then nothing until last night.

Check out this thread, it has a nice image with the spawn locations shown on the Blackwood map:
https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/576153/blackwood-portal-spawn-locations I just went around from one spot to the next, and usually I could find a portal every 2-3 spots. When you're near a portal, there's an ambient sound, without music it's easy to hear.

That is awesome thanks! Is the sound loud? Maybe somethings wrong, I don't recall hearing much of a sound maybe a little whine last night.

I finished the blackwood main story and left the zone without finding a single portal.

I agree. There's nothing to get from there. I thought there was a chance to get leyawiin furniture from the boss drop, but after many times I only got the deadland ones.

I really don't know if there's something special but I haven't found it yet.

The same here - I've hardly discovered any so far and when I was inside, only the final boss was left and I've never got anything interesting.

I had so high hopes for some TES IV-Oblivion nostalgia with the Oblivion gates, but I am deeply disappointed.

When I'm not looking for them I see plenty of portals but as soon as I decide to change what I'm doing they all disappear.

Easiest way is to be in a few guilds and scan their rosters for folk in "The Deadlands" then tp-ing directly to them.

I hear it everytime a portal is near but since it's an ambient sound I believe it can be made louder from settings, so tweaking them might help, it's like a white noise buzzing kind of sound.
