Skins for our companions ... and a large variety (if they can create igits to hang out in our homes, they can danged well make companion skins).

They fill the store with ugly polymorphs and terrible mounts and whatnot, it is almost as if they don't want to sell anything or make any money.4 -

Oh, heck yes! I haven't even considered buying a crate in well over three years. Before that, I splurged on 15 once, then it came into my knothead what a gamble it was. I'm not a gambler -- I once spent 20 on slots in Vegas and would have had a better time flushing it down a toilet. Same for ESO. Increasingly, I'm avoiding activities where a house-skewed RNG is at play. Means I'm doing less and less and moving toward quitting MMOs after 22 years.1 -

Milk a Whale and you may fill a barrel.
Milk all the fish and you fill an oil tanker or more.
Digital goods have a 'one off' cost to produce and minimal upkeep on shelf space, plus they never expire.
Its better to sell said goods to the masses at a low price than have one Whale buy at a high price.
Thats the main problem with game companies. They listen too the Accountants and Shareholders who we all know have no souls nor concept of what's actually profitable. They see Gaming as something to be milked for as much as possible, for as quickly as possible ignoring the long term 'smarter' sales policy's that will make much more.
Say what you will about media/news companies, they at least know that getting their content out to as many people as possible by any means means bigger profits.
I hate loot crates, but even I would be happy to buy them for say $1 each (Keeping the odds as they are now), that would likely up the sales 100 fold. Sure it will take less per person to get all the items within, BUT when you are reaching a MUCH larger audience then the loss of profit from the individual whale doesn't matter.Edited by Sililos on June 20, 2021 2:18AM7 -

Skins for pets so we can turn our Warden's bear into an animal that makes sense for the race/background of our character.
Skins for skills so players can change the colour of all the sorc pets flapping in my face at the local bank and crafting station.
Houseguests we actually want. It's a fun system, makes no sense why they are afraid to use it and give us the characters they know we want.2 -
