This. I really like that they're going back and remodeling the old armor styles. Kinda wish they'd just replace the old ones entirely, but I know some people would probably lose their minds over any sort of change to those (even though the new versions are objectively better). The dark elf style needs one too since, in my opinion, it's the worst of the original armor styles. Though, that would need an entire redesign to look good, while the other armor styles just needed updated models. Going to mainland Morrowind after playing through DLC content and wearing the newer armor styles feels so jarring because of the difference in quality and detail.
I have a bad feeling that it may be a few years before we see ancestral wood elf and other ancestral styles unfortunately. Would have thought ancestral imperial and breton would've came out, but it doesn't look like that'll be the case for this year either.
After Ancestral Dark Elf.
I'm betting imperial will be added with the DLC zone this year since that fits thematically and Blackwood got ancestral Akaviri, which also fits, though it would have made more sense to connect that motif to something PvP related like the original motif.
After Ancestral Dark Elf.
Nah. Dunmer have already gotten an incredible amount of content. You can wait a bit longer. I mean... besides the base game areas of Bal Foyen, and Stonefalls, you have Morrowind, and Clockwork City.
Plus, out of all the races in the game currently, I'm pretty sure the Dunmer have the highest amount of race-themed armors (ie. Dunmer, Morag Tong, Buoyant Armiger, Ashlander, Militant Ordinator, Telvanni, Hlaalu, and Redoran). Dark Elves have gotten plenty of love already, especially when it comes to armor styles.
Bosmer have had very little love in comparison, we have three zones that have basically been untouched in terms of content since 2014. It's time for the Bosmer to receive some love, Dunmer can wait.

But for the end-of-year DLC, it will surely be the ancestral Daedra that has been datamined. Which would make sense for Deadlands.
The ancestral Imperial may be released in two years with Colovia, if the pattern of DLC started with IC repeats itself.

Counter argument: Morrowind motifs need to be re-worked and given the love they deserved when they first came out. All those armours are ruined because they are mostly all metallic, when they should be chitin.

it's cool how they're basically remaking old styles but they failed to remove the hip flaps the 2nd time around....barbaric and ancestral reach are both ruined by the flaps like most others
