This. I really like that they're going back and remodeling the old armor styles. Kinda wish they'd just replace the old ones entirely, but I know some people would probably lose their minds over any sort of change to those (even though the new versions are objectively better). The dark elf style needs one too since, in my opinion, it's the worst of the original armor styles. Though, that would need an entire redesign to look good, while the other armor styles just needed updated models. Going to mainland Morrowind after playing through DLC content and wearing the newer armor styles feels so jarring because of the difference in quality and detail.

I have a bad feeling that it may be a few years before we see ancestral wood elf and other ancestral styles unfortunately. Would have thought ancestral imperial and breton would've came out, but it doesn't look like that'll be the case for this year either. :(

This is the original concept art of the heavy Dunmer style. It just needs to look more like that and it's all good. No need to reinvent the entire thing (we have the Great House styles for that after all).
This Bosmer was tortured to death. There is nothing left to be done.

I'm betting imperial will be added with the DLC zone this year since that fits thematically and Blackwood got ancestral Akaviri, which also fits, though it would have made more sense to connect that motif to something PvP related like the original motif.

I could also see ancestral argonian added later this year from a thematic standpoint, and would have been happy to see ancestral khajiit introduced with the Elsweyr event later this summer, but I doubt it since we've had no whiff on pts or datamines. But like dark elves, both khajiit and argonians have had additional styles with Elsweyr, Murkmire and other dlcs.

But I too would love ancestral woodelf to be added, even if I have to wait years for it :'(

Nah. Dunmer have already gotten an incredible amount of content. You can wait a bit longer. I mean... besides the base game areas of Bal Foyen, and Stonefalls, you have Morrowind, and Clockwork City.

Plus, out of all the races in the game currently, I'm pretty sure the Dunmer have the highest amount of race-themed armors (ie. Dunmer, Morag Tong, Buoyant Armiger, Ashlander, Militant Ordinator, Telvanni, Hlaalu, and Redoran). Dark Elves have gotten plenty of love already, especially when it comes to armor styles.

Bosmer have had very little love in comparison, we have three zones that have basically been untouched in terms of content since 2014. It's time for the Bosmer to receive some love, Dunmer can wait.

Agree for the ancestral Akaviri style.
But for the end-of-year DLC, it will surely be the ancestral Daedra that has been datamined. Which would make sense for Deadlands.
The ancestral Imperial may be released in two years with Colovia, if the pattern of DLC started with IC repeats itself.

Counter argument: Morrowind motifs need to be re-worked and given the love they deserved when they first came out. All those armours are ruined because they are mostly all metallic, when they should be chitin.

Yes, I agree with you 100%. I wrote that without realizing the DLC zone was in the Deadlands and not Colovia. But what do you mean "in two years with Colovia"? Is there more roadmap that I missed during my time away or just educated guesswork and extrapolation from the past DLCs?

Because that is what they use in the lore and TES: 3...

The initial RNG chances for Ancestral helf, orc and nord were OK. With the "fixed" RNG chances it doesn't really matter what is released: breton or welf, akaviri or delf. Not worth the time, not worth the effort.

Yes please. Also still wondering where the datamined Ancestral Breton and imperial are.

Although one thing that bothers me with the ancestral styles is that they they only do tier 4. I wish they gave all the tiers a makeover, because in many I prefer the lower ones.

This. The Ravenwatch was modeling it off so I assumed it was next. Nope. We've had three racial ones (high elf, Nord, orc) and two rare ones (reach/barbaric, Akavari) but Breton and Imperial are just sitting there finished and unused...

They removed the back flap on the ancestral imperial and it looks awful without it. Imperial is one of the fewer sets that looks nice with all the flaps, and then they decided to remove the back one and only the back one, making it look very weird,

You say "Ancestral Wood Elf when?"

I say "When do we get to see the real Falinesti?"

I would suggest to ZOS at some time in the future, that the answer to both those questions could be the same answer :-)
