What’s your Harpooner’s Wading Kilt leads experience?

From all the nightmares posted about Shadowfen, I was quite scared when farming leads yesterday. But here is my experience and data.

Shadowfen - Farmed 6 water hyacinth (40 minutes)
Blackwood - Killed ritual world boss twice (10 minutes)
Murkmire - Foul fishing, 2 separate sites (10 minutes)
Bal Foyen - about 20 covenant troops (10 minutes)
Mazzatun - normal run, got on first run (15 min)

All in all took about an hour and half for me to get the Kilt on NA-PS5.
What’re your numbers?

I haven't been farming it, but I did go through Shadowfen for a quest yesterday, and was astonished by the amount of people running and swimming everywhere, as well as standing around near the water.

When we went to Stormhold, Mirri said "Some people don't like the bustle of cities, but it reminds me of my large family."

And I was like, "Mirri, it's not normally this busy out here."

Kit took me about 2hrs+, because I had to switch toons everytime I get a lead. You guys can believe the hamster mathematicians with spreadsheets or superstitions but this is what has been working for me. I always farm leads with my pvp toons, and before they do their daily writs, bgs, ect... I got the water hyancith lead on my first node, literally as soon as I found one, bam it gave me the lead. The fishing lead took me a while though.

Zoal monster set, farmed it as soon as ps4 na went live after the update. When there was literally 0 people in Imperial city. It’s a pretty damn good set, like the old Deaths wind but super effective especially when there is lag. Again I do the opposite, farmed it on my pve toon with pve gear. It took 3 kills then it dropped. I do feel sorry for people that gotta farm it now and getting ganked over and over again :).

Not farming it but a lead did drop from the boss in Blackwood the first time I killed it. Didn't even know about it.

    None.

I didn't buy blackwood. By the time I do, if I do, not only will the various lead points be sparsely populated but zos will have nerfed it into the ground anyway.

I am 12 hours in, no shadowfen lead. PC NA about 2 hours of that was trying to find a node to interact with.

Thanks for posting this, OP, as I had no idea where the other four leads drop. Now that I know, I might consider farming them.

Re: Shadowfen, I actually enjoy the zone. The crafting setup isn't nearly as horribad as it is in some of the other base game cities, and I spent a good deal of time there on one of my alts while progressing through the Ebonheart Pact story line. I know a lot of players who finally found the lead were saying in zone chat that they were never again going back to Shaowwfen, but I thought it was actually kind of nice to revisit the zone-- that is, when I was running around and not just standing by a node.

Farmed pure water for 6 hours, went insane, saw people being more toxic than I have ever seen in any other game, and ultimately quit without success - completely frustrated. Farmed water skin for 1hour and got the lead two days after, for a total of 7 hours.

Got the Worldboss lead on my first try.

Spent an hour or two in Bal Foyen killing Covenant soldiers.

Spent 10minutes fishing in the wrong holes before realizing it was Foul only, then got the lead on the last fish in the first Foul water hole.

Got the Mazzatun lead on my 5th run.

I love how the kilt plays and I am glad I did it, knowing I can now replicate it infinitely, but It was certainly the least fun experience I've had in this game to this date and I recently had a tank hold a dungeon run hostage because we were "wasting his time", but he refused to leave group to avoid getting a penalty for leaving, insisting that we kick him (which we didn't until he eventually did leave).
This Bosmer was tortured to death. There is nothing left to be done.

Shadowfen - Farmed pure water for 45 minutes, got the lead, realized I was on the wrong account.
Shadowfen (Take 2) - Farmed for days. (Probably about 10 hours.)
    Blackwood - Third World Boss
    Murkmire - About 30 or 40 casts.
    Bal Foyen - Negligable
    Mazzatun - Fourth Run

Never going to use that mythic. The bonus is far too easy to break.

    Shaowfen-30 minutes
    Murkmire-2nd cast
    Bal Foyen-15 minutes
    Blackwood-4th boss
    Mazzatun-1st run

Guess RNG was on my side for once.

Small tip for people farming in Shadowfen , it's better to farm water skins in public dungeon. There is like 5 spawn locations with fairly quick respawn time and public dungeon is instanced location with way smaller limit then Shadowfen map.

Shadowfen - Farmed around 40 nirnroot (3 hours)
Blackwood - Killed ritual world boss once (5 minutes)
Murkmire - Foul fishing, 10 separate sites (90 minutes)
Bal Foyen - about 30 covenant troops (15 minutes)
Mazzatun - normal run, got on fourth run (60 minutes)

I expected a terrible grind so was pretty surprised to get the Shadowfen lead that quickly.
Mazzatun I just ran on normal with my stamplar DD +taunt so I could get instant queues as tank.

I have bad RNG, so some of mine are probably outliers:

Shadowfen: ~10 hours in 1 sitting, 17 hours in total
    Murkmire: 10 minutes
    ROM: ~30 runs
    WB: 3 bosses
    Bal Foyen: ~25 minutes

Was put off by amount of people in shadowfen camping nodes but another morning was on a daily quest or smth and there was almost empty small part of it so runned around 15-20 mins and got my lead painless, did others in about an hour so it was pretty okay. Now I'm payed back with Vivec outlaw refuge lead lol.

Shadowfen: ~19 hours and still going... spawnrate of camped node is often between 2 = 8 minutes with when i timed an averag of 3.53 minutes. Its less crowded now so i can make a 'route' of sorts.

    Murkmire: ~40 minutes
    ROM: ~1 run
    WB: 1 bos
    Bal Foyen: ~30 minutes

15th (or 16th, I lost count) Mazzatun run and still nothing...

On the other hand I got Gaze of Sithis lead from Cradle of Shadows at 1st run... I dont understand RNG in this game.

Is there some kind of hidden timer / cooldown that reduces your chance of finding Mythic leads ? ? ?

I ask because this is my observation since Scrying was introduced. If I dont try to find one for 1 or 2 days - I got one imminently or at 2nd attempt. Then I can try to find a lead and it will have close to 0% chance to drop.

btw. Does it matter if you do Mazzatun on normal or vet has higher chance to drop mythic lead ?

Shadowfen - Farmed over 200 of a mix of water/water plant nodes (13 hours)
Blackwood - Killed 3 world bosses twice (20 minutes)
Murkmire - Foul fishing got from second fishing hole, north Murkmire site (15 minutes)
Bal Foyen - Probably about 40 troops (20 minutes)
Mazzatun - First run on normal, it dropped (the puzzle room bugged out so it took longer to run it) (25 min)

Speaking as one of those hamster mathematicians, you just got lucky. Oh so lucky. I switched toons just like this (I have 12) for the Shadowfen beads, because I've had a similar experience in the past with this approach. It seems like the first lead of the day for a particular toon drops faster than expected when you go out and about - but this did not apply to my Shadowfen grind. Swapping made no difference for me, and it dropped for me on my main on Day 3 after I'd already gotten other leads from other stuff the same day, but I was grouped with other farmers who turned autoloot off.

I believe that what you're saying might be right, but there is no proof out there, and it didn't work in my case. I tried, believe me.

Shadowfen - 1 water node and 1 hyacinth, 2 minutes.
Blackwood, Murkmire, Bal Foyen, Mazzatun - 0 minutes because i don't need Harpooner’s Wading Kilt.

I was just walking through the Shadowfen to complete the quest and saw a couple of nodes along the way. Tide-Glass Beads? Oh, this is the thing that makes people dream of turning the Shadowfen into a PvP zone! Cool, thanks, ESO! But that doesn't make sense to me.

I'm not surprised that this is how random works. :)

Shadowfen - 2 hours, maybe 40 nodes, not node camping though, and some of that time was ducking in and out of the delve for the sithis lead
Blackwood - it was pretty much right away either first or second boss
Murkmire - 4 fishing holes, maybe 10 minutes
Bal Foyen - I went in for 5 minutes or so, left, then went in for another 5 or so and got it.
    Mazzatun - second run

Shadowfen: 7 hours, somewhere around 250-300 nodes
Blackwood: 6 bosses, 30 minutes (this was the only part I enjoyed)
    Murkmire: 30 minutes
    Bal Foyen: 15 minutes
Mazzatun: 6 runs, close to 2 hours

Total: 10 hours of my life for this kilt... 75% of that was standing in place, pressing E, on water nodes and fishing holes. This is not engaging gameplay.

I'm well known for a very poor RNG record so...

Shadowfen - 3 hrs so far - nothing....
Blackwood - Killed world boss twice (10 minutes)
Murkmire - Foul fishing, 1st cast (10 minutes)
Bal Foyen - about 250 covenant troops - nothing yet
