Really enjoy visiting an “Oblivion” city and Blackwood overall is well designed - nice terrain to explore, decent location for wayshrines and interesting new places like Gideon and the smaller Argonian villages.

Been sitting in shadowfen farming bead lead for 12 hours so maybe experience it next week.

That is bumming me out just thinking about it. I quit ESO for a while because the farm for one lead got to be too much and I had enough of it.

    Zone is beautiful. 10/10

World bosses / delves are standard affair 7/10

    Trial is pretty neat 8/10

Story, so far, seems pretty meh (granted I am only a few quests in, but it seems very basic). 2/10

Companions are interesting, and annoying all at the same time. I dislike that they follow right up to you and when you press E to loot, or interact with an object, use a wayshrine, talk to a merchant, etc. You're instead brought to the companion menu. 5/10

So like a 6.5/10. I didn't really see an appropriate answer on the poll for that. Between "very interesting" and "not a fan".

Edit: also noteworthy frustrations for the kilt lead farm. I got all mine, but it wasn't done well.

its ok i guess, nothing great, companions feels hollow as hell what with the janky requirement to do the quest multiple times on alts just to use them more, as well as only having one ultimate on each, both being damage focused.

gates are rare and the one i did manage to find was both tiny and already complete by the time i joined... fun.

unless they add some companions to the base game and improve the current+future ones it feels like a dress up feature rather than a gameplay feature.
PLEASE REPLY TO ME WITH @dsalter otherwise i'm likely to miss the reply if its not my own thread

"Other" for me. I'm used to another MMO and relatively new to ESO. When I heard we get an expansion pack, I was expecting something different, due to my experience with this other MMO. In comparison, I'm a bit disappointed. But it's my fault. I shouldn't compare.

So far: I have not been farther than exploring area and doing some quests:
Positive: I like the landscape a lot.
Negative: some foes are annoying (once more, many traps with long duration). And based on what I saw up to now: only one area?

Ah I will never understand that,I mean they will nerf all those new mythical items soon again anyway so what is the point? Can still collect them the leads once the hype is over.

I didn't buy it after testing companions extensively on the PTS. There is just no way to get decent gear unless you're going to try for years.

I will probably buy it at a discount, or wait for DLC.

The new mythic items don't interest me, as all the mythic items I have found so far were nerfed before I had enough leads to make them, or very soon afterwards. (Thrassian Stranglers, Pale Order Ring, I'm looking at you.)

it's like Greymoor but worse, not sure how ZoS accomplished that, not tried the new companions system as it doesn't interest me whatsoever. New mythic items are an absolute pain to obtain thanks to some high IQ game design. On a whole it's really a $30-40 load of nothing. Very bland forgettable experience.

Spent a couple of hours wandering but not lost, it was enjoyable.

The geography is rather friendly; been chasing N.Elsweyr dragons quite a bit lately, it was a nice change of colour palette and 'navigational friendliness'.

The two WB encounters I had were fun. It was a bit of a 'deer in the headlights' situation at times because I am not familiar with the mechanics but no Ri'Atahrashi-like 'WTF? Why? How?' moments so far.

Looking forward to getting 'stuck in' this weekend, during the week the writs/dailies don't leave a lot of wriggle room to fit more activities.

I wouldn't worry about it being too overrun to enjoy, because apparently everybody is camping out next to the fresh water and water hyacinth spawn locations, so that should be leaving everywhere else fairly horde-free.

It feels like one of, if not THE most open zone. It's also much larger than others, and I love the sense of exploration. The main story is...fine, but I'm loving the side quests a lot. Especially with all the returning characters.

I love it,it is my favourite zone in the game now.
When I first heard of it saw the trailer I thought this is going to be awful.

The story sounded like it was going to be coldharbour 2.0 only how could this expansion compare to the original story, how could we have another daedric prince trying to do what we have already defeated one from doing. And then there was the zone, Mirkmire was my least favourite DLC/Expansion, love the Argonian people but the map was bad, can't even tell you what the story was something to do with a lost tribe/imperials??? While the new feature companions looked like we were going to get a snooty something and a snarky something, that would either be painful useless and annoying or overpowered and everyone was going to have to speak them as their pocket healer/tank and watch them make you immortal.

Could I have been more wrong (still not impressed by the trailer). The zone gets everything right from the rolling hills to the swamp that is now all the flavour of the swamp from Mirkmire done right, I can traverse it without getting hit by every plant or exploding bog zombies. While the towns look beautiful and yet unique at the same time.

The story is a mystery (as much as is possible) with the perfect protagonist in the shape of Eveli both advancing the plot without overshadowing the player. Now I really enjoyed Greymoor, my main in a Vampire, everyone likes Skyrim so what is not to love. But some how the plot felt like it was all about someone else and really you were just the dim witted side kick that put your life in danger bumbling around. Here the plot feels like you are uncovering a conspiracy as opposed to waiting on some old old person far more interesting than you to tell you what is going on when he felt like it.

Whilst the companion system adds another level to the game, yes its slow and yes I'm taking someone that is horribly under geared and under leveled places they should never go. But it gives me something to work on while waiting for the next chapter. And at least my duel sword wielding assassin companion is fun. Game changing no, not yet but maybe when she gets her ultimate and is in better gear but as systems go a lot more fun than digging in the dirt. Though it remains to be seen if she is more useful than my pale order ring.

The one thing I would ask if the devs ever read these or the writing/story/lore team see this thread. Please can you give us a decent title. I am a Vampire and thanks to whatever cosmic power you like Immortal. So please stop having me called Mortal. I also own a number of properties, one which even gives me the title lord, I'm as high as a player can go in the thieves guild, Dark Brotherhood, Psijic Order, Hero of Summerset, Morrowind, Skyrim etc, have millions in the bank, gear and crafting writs worth considerably more, hold the rank of captain in the Alliance War, how am I being referred to as a mercenary. I assure you the 720 gold you are paying isn't the driving force in this arrangement!

Likewise can we please have a moment where my amazing cosmic power is unleashed in a cutscene. All the bad guys seem to have these movements where they can entrap enemies with chains of power, blow stuff up, laugh at puny mortals etc etc while my prowess is shown if I'm like in the blade of woe or feeding but in most of the big fights chipping away at their health till they fall down and then stand around while they expire and I wait to talk to someone. Surely we can be given some fatalities where we get to feel like we struck the killing blow.

Blackwoods seems to be a pretty decent expansion. Introduces an amazing new trial with new mechanics I haven't seen before, the general aesthetic is how I'd imagine blackwoods. The various ruins and scattered wells are a nice touch. World bosses, a little buggy, but will be fixed in time.

My one gripe I can really give, is there doesn't seem to be a whole lot. I've done almost everything but the main story there so far in a single day.
