@ZOS_ConnorG Is there any way for us console users to have an option to turn off zone text chat, but still have our Guild text chat? Every day now the zone text chat gets toxic, people flaming each other, threats, just the general BS.

I'd love to block the whole general zone, but still see what my Guildies are texting.

I understand that the PC users already have this option.

Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk.

I agree with the no price thing, the low balling as crummy as it is. Is part of how zone selling works. I think almost all of us have been cheated by it, but i also learned over time what my items are worth

It's NOT just the buyers/sellers ripping people off.

You got "Crafters" sitting there spamming over the top prices ie. 100k for White Training Sets.....

Come on, several when asked, don't even offer the full set...

    Gear
    Jewelry
    Wpn(s) of choice

And you want me to pay you 100k just to make "TRAIN" on some gear that's WHITE .....

    Ugg.....

    White should be free.....

Now, sell me at that high cost Blue/Purple COMPLETE w/ Wpn(s) of choice....Maybe.....

Consoles can only hide the WHOLE chat....so we are stuck if we want to see GUILD chat, we also have to see these spammer too.....

    ANNOYING!

    Uh... the snot you say!?

I don't disagree that 100k for a full set of white training gear is extremely overpriced. If it's low level, I'd say anything more than 3-5k is overcharging by a huge margin.

But, this, "you should make something for me for free," crap is why I never wear the grand master crafter title, and don't show off the hammer on any of my characters.

I'll make green training gear for free for guildies who ask politely, but I don't owe you anything.

This, probably, bothers a plenty our console brothers

I don't know about others but I've reached the point where I don't even read the ad spam. As soon as I see what is is, it's like it just turns invisible. I guess this is what they call selective reading. Idk really.

Honestly I never understood why people bothered spamming such nonsense in chat... If you want to buy or sell something then do it on the guild trader system. That is why it's there. Spamming zone chat isn't very effective since each zone has different channels. You'd have to visit each one in turn and spam your junk to turn a profit. You'd spend more time visting and spamming each one than you may turn a profit because at this point, everyone is ignoring your sorry butt.

^This. I'm absolutely not making anything for free to people that expect it to be.

Here's some advice for hiring crafters.

When you ask someone to craft for you, you are basically hiring their time and effort. It goes a long way when you show you respect that time and effort. Here's what that means.

    1. It's extremely helpful if you know what set, which pieces, traits, appearance, and quality you want ahead of time. Think of it like writing down a shopping list for your crafter. If you don't do this step, your crafter has to pry what you want out if you (and many crafter have a horror story about that newb they had to pry details out of and it wasn't worth their time.) Stuff like "Oh, I don't care what it looks like, pick whatever style you like" is a good way to get base game Argonian armor in my books.

    2. If you want it for free, you need to provide the mats. Most crafters will have a decent store of lower tier mats, but not always enough for a whole set of gear. If you want CP 160 gear, that's 150 mats a piece or so, so its a really good idea to provide your own mats or be prepared to pay for the gear.
Likewise, if you want a super special trait, like nirnhoned or the extra jewelry traits, you need to provide the mats or be prepared to pay for them. If you want a special appearance with a rare style stone, you ought to provide the style material. Basically, if it's not basic gear in basic traits, it's a good idea to plan to provide your own mats unless your crafter says otherwise.

    3. Even if you provide all the mats and are getting your gear for free, it's nice to tip for time and effort. Not always necessary, but nice nonetheless. If you are paying, you can ask about a tip, but I usually figure that the crafter set their price accordingly.

Your best bet for getting free crafted gear is going to be guildmates. Now, YMMV based on what guilds you are in, but my guildmates will consistently go out of their way to make crafted gear for below CP 160 players when asked. Even then, points 1 & 2 still apply. If that's something you want from a guild and your current guilds aren't doing it, you might want to look for different newbie friendly guilds who're active during your playtime.

    Hope that helps.

    Saucy this is ridiculous.

Also, how much did you pay for those hundreds of master writs during the event that you sold for 50k each?

How about, and this is perhaps a novel idea for some so brace yourselves and make sure you're seated comfortably, have a glass of water at hand; Mind your own business.

Every time I see low ball offer for items in zone chat, I just block that person. Problem solved. Used to call them out and post current prices in chat and received many hate whispers for it, but in the end, it really wasn't worth my time and effort. If ZOS doesn't want an auction house or something similar to help console players then I felt like they are comfortable with new players getting cheated most of the time then why should I care.

Thus, the reason I just block the low ballers.

    Stay safe everyone :)
