Maintenance for the week of April 6:
• PC/Mac: No maintenance – April 6

Releasing no patch for console is absolutely unacceptable.

Console gets the back end of everything and its getting ridiculous. We dont have nearly the support PC does or the features. We never get the PTS, our updates are always weeks after PC, the list goes on. Now you are telling us that the update YOU released that broke many features on the game won't be reconciled for over a month? This isn't acceptable. You aren't even offering any sort of compensation for the console players for this issue. You just say "we broke the game and won't fix it for over a month from now, sorry." Honestly, I'm thinking about not buying the chapter and calling it, I know my 50 bucks won't make a difference to you but I can't justify spending 50 dollars for an update anymore with the lack of support we get.

I had no incentive to buy the chapter as it was, and now I have incentive to actively avoid buying it. Everything about this is utterly inexcusable.

Hard agree. This year so far has been the biggest mess, literally every patch/update introduced tons of bugs and nothing they claimed to fix actually was. I won't be spending anymore money or wasting anymore of my time on this game until they actually get their crap together.

Absolutely. I have always loved supporting them through purchases in the past, but I have lost all desire to do so.

In the queue with Sony right now to try and get a refund on crowns and cancel my preorder. Enough is enough.

I’ve been a player since beta. My pc went crap so I’ve had the game on PS4 since inception. I have bought every chapter pre release . Not this one nothing entices me. Not for £35.! I’ll wait until it’s half price .

Consoles are very limited in hardware. To slim down the game so it would work on consoles but still keep the "feel" and core parts of the game they had to strip down the game to more of a barebones version. They then allowed people to develop addons for PC to add features back in.

As for support, it is typically harder to fix things for console than it is for PC. For one the game is developed on PC and modified for whatever console they support. ALL software is developed on PC and modified to the platform it will be used on. Obviously, unless you are on PC, this is an extra step. With consoles the software has to be fixed on PC, tested on console, approved by the hardware owner, and then released. So it is more work to patch and update.

You don't get PTS because that adds a layer of complexity that isn't necessary. Patches are tested and modified on PC ( PTS) where changes can be easily made during testing. If they tested on consoles then every change would require additional steps which translates to more labor, more money, and slower patches.

Having to do those couple of extra steps, modifying for console and certification from Sony/Microsoft, does take extra time. They also likely delay patching on those systems so they can live test the patch as well on PC. They have had to do fixes soon after the updates have went live on multiple occasions. So our (PC players) first week of live is probably a mass test of the patch and any fixes, the following week will be adaptation to consoles and certification, then release on consoles. This saves time and money, in the long run, even though you may not think so from your perspective.

I agree. When something critical goes wrong with a patch and causes poor QoL because of a problem, most developers rollback the patch to the last working version, if it can't be quick fixed, until they can properly fix the issue. ZOS basically says " Yeah, we will just fix it later, you can still play...sort of."
