"Version 2" of existing zones?

For base game dungeons we have 2 versions. We have BC1, but we also have BC2 that takes place after BC1.

Maybe we can apply this idea to existing zones as well? ZOS can rebuild base game zones (so rivenspire II, greenshade II, etc.) and sell them as chapters, with a totally new design, new story, new delves etc.

That way ZOS can update older zones in a way and make $$, and we get some sort of continuations in the plot, and the races that ZOS ****ed over(Breton/Bosmer) can get a second chance.

We did, it was Cadwell's Silver and Gold where there were exactly 3 versions of each of the 15 Base game and starter island zones back before one Tamriel and when all 3 factions didn't play together. The problem with that system was it made the game feel so empty, especially the higher you got. Now we play together all factions in the same zones with all levels intermingled, so it feels more active and alive.

Think a base game update to graphics is on the cards, also dungeons etc, the whole base game. A complete rework of quests etc maybe a no.

    But never say never :)

I doubt it will happen till they fill out the rest of the map first.

instead of "more land" just make current land more active. It's dead areas everywhere.

That would be such a mess. Those dungeons are short and instanced.

If they run out of empty space in the world map, I suppose this is an idea. Otherwise, no thanks.

    Oooooh Yeah good feedback.

Okay, maybe just a graphics overhaul to some of the old zones. Windhelm feels bootleg, Riften is falling apart physically and socially (everyone wants to be afflicted with some sort of dark curse these days), and we need to retake Bleakrock.

Well those dungeons were the same map, but you take different routes and explore additional areas.

Completely redoing the base-game zones would be highly controversial, but I would love to see it. We've come a long way since 2014, and there is a lot of stuff they could improve on and lessons they've learned. Fixing weird stuff like rivers that flow in opposite directions, borked scale, incorrect, misfitting maps. We could revisit some of the ruined cities like Bleakrock, Elinhir, Camlorn. High Rock could finally get the love it deserves, and big-name places like Dragonstar and Jehanna, which had great potential to be interesting could get a second chance. There are still stories untold for all the basegame lands. One thing that ESO gets right is the gorgeous landscapes, especially post-basegame. I could not be unhappy if some of our favourite places got this treatment, and there's no reason that content couldn't be completely new in all the ways that matter.

We'll see. Its something that they will have to consider one day, if they haven't already, if they want to keep ESO going for years to come.

The game is already a mess in terms of time and events. Everything happens at the same time, characters we killed are alive, characters we saved don't know us... A second version of zones will turn ESO world into chaos.

Graphics enhancements to older zones and a few new relevant quests, such as a quest to rebuilt Bleakrock so it is not a perpetual burning mess would be welcome. As a soloist, I like lots and lots of zones since it spreads players out and I want a low player density.

What you're asking about is The Elder Scrolls Online II :)

Even though I share your feelings about some changes to the base game, I think that we don't need that radical change. I believe that there should be some kind of... explanation about the game's broken timeline. I've even created a topic about it, but now it seems to be a little abandoned.

However, I'd like to see some kind of TESO II as well. I liked Fallout 76 and I'd like to see an online TES game on Creation Engine... With good technical part of course - the main problem of F76 was and still is it's technical part. The very idea of having a generic Bethesda game with online mode feels awesome to me.
Even though TESO is a great game, it suffers from continuity issues that may hurt narrative experience and confuse lore-caring players. If we want TESO to be a decent exemplar in The Elder Scrolls series, these problems need to be fixed. Please, acknowledge with this information more in this thread. Thank you.
