Champion Point Nerfs:
After testing out the new nerfs, I have not missed out on the extra stats all that much. Strangely, the stat I am missing the most is actually the 560 health lost from the Fitness tree. I don't believe that we were too tanky, we still have less mitigation (For DPS + Healers) in CP 2.0, and the extra health was nice to offset that.
However, my greater concern with the nerfs to the CP system is that each level feels immensely underwhelming. I need 30 Champion Levels to go up a stage, and a stage provides an abysmal amount of progression. Then when you max out all stages you realize you still get almost nothing. Overall, I understand the new system is designed to bring the floor up and I commend that. However, perhaps we have swung a little too far in that direction.
New Stars:
I love these. In fact, I would like new stars like these introduced for the DPS side of the tree as well. More than just the 2 new flat damage ones.
What makes the new healing ones interesting is their conditionals and niche effects, rather than a flat amplifier. While I heard these have balance implications in PVP, I think they're interesting for build-crafting in PVE.
These stars likely won't be used all the time, but when they are used they will feel impactful to the fight or to the build, and that's more interesting than "Collect 4 10% damage/heal bonus effects".
