The Elder Scrolls Online v7.0.1 activates Midyear Mayhem for testing, and includes a number of fixes involving Companions, Oblivion Portals, and content found in Blackwood. We also have several fixes for Endeavors, Ability Bar Timers, combat abilities, and more. Note we plan to activate Hard Mode for Rockgrove Trial in next week’s PTS patch. The size of this patch is approximately 312MB.

Midyear Mayhem
Midyear Mayhem returns for testing this week! Rally your troops for the war in Cyrodiil, the skirmishes in the Imperial City, or the raucous feuds of the Battlegrounds.

This season introduces the final fragment for the Deadlands Firewalker personality, as well as a new set of weapon styles for the Alliance Banner staves and Alliance Shields, so you can sport your alliance's colors during the fray.
- The Alliance Banner Emblems that allow you to create these styles drop from Pelinal's Midyear Boon Boxes, and when combined with a license that you can purchase from Predicant Maera for 50,000 AP, create a tradeable style page. Bound versions of these pages are available from the Impresario for 5 Event Tickets each.
Speaking of tickets, you can earn up to three tickets per day by completing quests in Cyrodiil or the Battlegrounds (2 per day) and the Imperial City districts (1 additional ticket per day).
Second Legion outfit style pages have moved into the Midyear Grab Bag, while Ebonsteel Armor styles continue to drop from Imperial City bosses (as well as being available on the Impresario).

By player request, 200 copies of the Aetherial Well furnishing item will now be found in The Homeowner's Crate. This crate is found in template-made characters' inventories on the PTS.

Mehrunes Dagon’s model will now properly show up in-game.

Havocrel Duke of Storms now sounds properly telepathic.
Portal music is now a bit quieter in the tutorial.
Updated the sound effects when a Companion’s Ultimate is ready so it is more distinct.
Added some sound effects to the Flame Hound monster.

Companions

General
- Fixed an issue that could rarely cause an active Companion to not automatically appear after zoning.
- Fixed an issue that could cause a Companion to stop following your character or disappear after using a Wayshrine.
- Improved Companion pathing around large objects in the world.
- Fixed an issue that could allow Companions to appear in areas they are prohibited in.
- Removed internal testing reference codes from various Companion dialogue text entries.
- Fixed an issue where a quest NPC associated with one of Mirri's quests would stick around after you complete it instead of disappearing immediately.
- Companion guild progress from dailies now works as expected and progress is displayed immediately.
- Fixed a rare issue that could cause your character to be slightly relocated when exiting the Companion menu.
- Companions will no longer behave as if they were just summoned upon zoning.
- Modified some of Mirri Elendis' conversations to acknowledge the player race of Argonian and/or Dunmer.
Animation
- Fixed an issue where mounted Companions would sometimes make harsh turns while following your character.
- Adjusted the animation for summoning a Companion to begin faster after activating.
- Fixed an issue that could cause a Companion to animate incorrectly when running into combat.
Audio
- Fixed an issue that could cause some Companion voice responses to not activate in various combat scenarios.
- Fixed an issue that was causing a number of Companion dialogue lines to be much quieter than intended.
- Made numerous adjustments to Companion response callouts to improve consistency and accuracy.
- Fixed an issue that allowed some Companion callouts to be audible to all players in the area.
- Slightly adjusted a number of dialogue lines to more accurately match the spoken lines.
Combat
- Reduced the experience required for Bastian and Mirri to reach level 2.
- Fixed an issue that could cause your ability bar to disappear after dismissing a Companion.
- Companions will now unlock with a couple abilities pre-slotted into their ability bar.
- Fixed a rare issue that could result in a Companion attacking an enemy without aggroing it.
- Fixed an issue that could prevent some Companion skill lines from visibly progressing without resummoning the companion.
- Fixed an issue that could cause your skills menu to get stuck if a Companion automatically despawned as a result of a zone jump (such as entering a house).
Customization
- Fixed an issue which could prevent visibility and adjustment of Companion weapon visuals at outfit stations.
- Applying an outfit to a Companion will no longer result in their weapons visibly disappearing until re-equipped.
- Adjusting Companion costumes and outfits will now update as expected more consistently.
- Fixed an issue where swapping to your backup weapon set would prevent you from customizing your Companion’s weapon styles.
UI
- Added a resurrect icon for dead Companions, similar to dead player characters. This will be modified in a future PTS patch to differentiate it from players.
- Updated the companion menu to ensure that at least one collectible in a collections category is available to the Companion for it be displayed.
- Fixed an issue that caused Companion skill tooltips to ignore bonuses.
- Fixed issue that could leave you stuck in a Companion menu after getting attacked and entering combat.
- Fixed an issue that could cause Companion skill tooltips to display incorrectly.

Rockgrove Trial

General
- You can no longer obtain the Light Stepper achievement if you trigger a Lantern Mantis.
- You will no longer be able to obtain the Will of Stone achievement if your character dies to a Deadlands lavafall.
- Fixed an issue where some Sul-Xan would not use their attacks when attacking the same target.
- Adjusted the standing postures for Dust-On-Scales so he appears less fidgety during conversations.
- The devoted Naga followers of Mehrunes Dagon were granted his ultimate favor and have been awarded a new banner to wear.
Oaxiltso
- Adjusted the visual effects to increase client performance.
- Molten Earth will no longer apply twice in quick succession.
- The Havocrel Annihilators now always cast Cinder Cleave after casting Ember Chains, as expected.
Flame-Herald Bahsei
- Adjusted the visual effects to increase client performance.
Xalvakka
- Fixed an issue where you could get stuck in an infinite summoning loop of “Joining Encounter in Progress”.
- Lava will now always rise to the correct level of the tower during the encounter, regardless of how quickly the boss is being defeated.
- If you stand next to the Volatile Shell when it is created, you will now see it correctly.
- Eruption projectiles from an exploding Volatile Shell statue will now correctly damage your character regardless of range.
- Xalvakka’s spoken lines regarding Volatile Shell will no longer display in the chat window.

General

Clarified the acquire hint for the Full-Scale Golden Anvil Replica memento, to more precisely reference the quest this Collectible is obtained from.
Clarified the acquire hint for the Bog Dog Collectible, to more precisely reference the achievement this Collectible is obtained from.
Fixed a minor grammatical error in the description of Crimson Kerchiefs, a Green-quality Justice Treasure.
Because it simply won't do to have two crimson kerchiefs to steal--what a fashion faux pas!--the newer one is now called the "Scarlet Lace Kerchief."
Fixed an issue where Safeboxes in Blackwood could drop a huge number of Treasures. While we certainly want thieves to be able to profit from their illicit activities, that was a little too much.
Updated the locations of a number of books found in the world to better reflect their final position.
Fixed an issue where you could interact with Skyshards even after you had collected them.

Achievements

Updated the "Stone-Kissed" title to "Planesbreaker", and the "Stone-Talker" title to "Daedric Bane".
Traveling to Daedric delves and public dungeons will now award progress towards the "Mirri's Favor" achievement.
Fixed an issue where your Admirer would forget what they last did, thus not progressing the “Most Admired” achievement properly.

Furnishings

Corrected a small region of flickering textures on the bottom of the “Inert Oblivion Gate” furnishing.
Improved the accuracy of the collision for the “Deadlands Tormentor, Chained” furnishing and the “Deadlands Pillar, Tall Inscribed” furnishing.
The “Deadlands Tormentor, Chained” furnishing can now be found in the Torture subcategory, instead of the Symbolic Decor subcategory.
Fixed an issue where inscriptions on the "Deadlands Pillar, Tall Inscribed" furnishing were facing away from your character when initially placed.
Improved the initial rotation of the “Leyawiin Sconce, Gilded Lantern”, “Leyawiin Windowbox, Yellow Daisies”, and “Leyawiin Windowbox, Irises” furnishings, so that they face your character when placed.
Adjusted the “Leyawiin Well, Roofed” so that the interior fades to black as expected.
Corrected a missing “i” in the names for the “Deadlands Brazier, Bladed Tall” furnishing and its plan.
Made some very slight adjustments to the "Leyawiin Socks, Pair" furnishing, so that they are less likely to appear under surfaces when using Surface Drag or Align.

Homes

Fixed an issue that allowed you to walk into certain walls in the Pantherfang Chapel fort area.
Your character will now crouch down when entering trapdoors in Pantherfang Chapel, as well as when using the boat at the entrance.
Removed a stray copy of a lightpost from the courtyard of Pantherfang Chapel.
Improved the accuracy of the collision for the walls in Water’s Edge, allowing you to easily edit paintings that are placed flush with the wall.
Fixed an issue that could cause target dummies to have incorrect health values when placed in Water’s Edge.

General

Remains-Silent will now properly show up in the Outlaw’s Refuge.
Fixed a number of doors that weren't showing proper quest assist locations in Leyawiin.
The Xanmeer interior in Stonewastes now has a visible map.
Updated sound effects across multiple Blackwood quests.
Fixed an issue where you couldn't see group member pins in the Bloodrun Cave delve.

Delves

Xi-Tsei
- Ambient music will now play in this delve.
- Fixed an issue where the Delve icon would not show up or would incorrectly show as completed.
- The Delve completion will now properly fill in after killing the boss.

Oblivion Portals

Monsters no longer have a chance to spawn in world geometry.
Added some rocks to prevent you from traversing unintended areas. Naughty, naughty.
Entering the tower from the Torture Wing will now place your character in the correct location.
Adjusted paths for Ash Hopper critters in the Ironworks section.
Dormant Fire Behemoths will now correctly enter combat when triggered.
Fire Behemoths and Count of Cataclysms will no longer inexplicably end combat and run away.
Increased the health of the Duke of Storms.
The Duke of Storms will no longer get stuck in his Smoldering Guard phase.

Public Dungeons

Silent Halls
- Geysers will now remain active throughout the Group Event and your character will no longer be endlessly stunned when affected.
The Golden Anvil
- Lore books associated with this quest will no longer despawn.
- The stone directory will now be visible to all players.
Zenithar’s Abbey
- Added Slaugherfish to some of the waters in the area to prevent resurrections.

Quests

A Mysterious Event: Fixed an issue where logging out at a certain point of the quest would block progression.
An Abundance of Stibbons: Fixed an issue where one of the doors inside the Xanmeer would continuously put you on the wrong side and block the quest.
Bath Time: Fixed an issue where the Sister of Pools would repeat her voice line.
Competition and Contracts:
- The beams connecting the prisoner in place will now be removed properly if a group member frees the prisoner first.
- Fixed an issue where Bastian would randomly despawn when running after someone in Deepscorn Hollow.
- Updated the visual and audio effects when breaking crystals during this quest.
Family Secrets: Mihrif will no longer rudely walk through the patron of the Stormhaven bar that you are speaking to.
Glittering Lies: Fixed an issue where the quest specific NPC couldn't be spoken to in certain locations.
Heroes of Blackwood: Fixed an issue where your quest bestowal would vanish in front of you.
Rising Winds:
- Fixed an issue where Nuxul wouldn't always properly despawn when he should.
- All appearances of Elossi now match.
- Fixed a visual error that was occurring when using a stone pillar while on this quest.
Room to Spare: Added previously missing voiceover to this quest.

- Yolnakhriin’s Flame Aura, Wing Thrash and Incendiary Wind abilities will now correctly affect Companions.

General

Fixed an issue where synergies would sometimes fail to appear if granted from multiple sources of the same ability.
Fixed numerous issues where certain abilities were displaying improper durations with Ability Timers active.
- Note: This is still being actively worked and we are aware of other specific abilities displaying incorrectly.
Fixed an issue where some Area of Effect abilities that received recent adjustments were not respecting their target caps.

Buffs and Debuffs

Major Gallop: Fixed an issue where this bonus was applying to toy mounts. Sorry about this one.

Nightblade

Shadow
- Summon Shade
  - Shadow Image (morph): The shade from this ability will now spawn directly at your location when activated, and teleporting to it will put you directly at its location as well. These changes should add more precision to utilizing this ability, while also fixing issues where it could occasionally get you in areas you did not belong. Your shadow seems to be a pretty complicated person, perhaps some reflection would do you well?

Sorcerer

Dark Magic
- Crystal Shard
  - Crystal Fragments (morph): Fixed an issue where the special activation of this ability could not be activated when it procced.

Necromancer

Bone Tyrant
- Bone Totem: Fixed an issue where this ability and its morphs would fear targets immediately, instead of after the 2 second delay. It was just really spooky before.

General

Fixed an issue that could cause your character sheet to appear to lose stats when equipping multiple pieces of non-perfected and perfected item sets together.

Jester’s Festival

Fixed an issue with the visual effects on the Sparkling Mudcrab Apple Cider drink.

General

Fixed an issue where you could not use or equip items while seated in chairs.
Updated the default enchantment on the Grievous Ward shield to be Maximum Health. This will not affect Grievous Wards that have had their enchantment replaced.

Endeavors

Fixed an issue where you would instantly complete Endeavors for collecting Survey Reports by collecting just one node in one survey. You'll now only get one tick of progress on that Endeavor when you loot the first node in the survey area.
Added a new center screen announcement to indicate the completion of the maximum allowable number of Endeavors for the current period (day/week).
Completed Endeavors will now display a check mark on their progress bar.
Added icons for the Seals of Endeavor store and Endeavors Activity Finder menu.
Added appropriate messaging for when there are no active Endeavors.
Fixed an issue that could cause items to appear under the incorrect subcategory in the Seals of Endeavor store.
Fixed an issue where crafting multiples of an item at once would not increment a “craft items” endeavor for each item crafted.
Fixed an issue where empty categories would appear in the Crown Store. These categories do not have any products in them on the PTS, so showing the category makes no sense (and to be clear, we are not retiring Crown Gems).

Furnishings

Fixed an issue that caused certain houseguests to refuse to talk to you if you were a late-stage Vampire or transformed Werewolf. They’ve learned to look past your dark exterior and see the kindred soul within.

Housing Editor

Fixed an issue that could prevent your permission list from correctly appearing under certain circumstances, resulting in incomplete or empty permission lists.

General

The game now prevents memory-related crashing when attempting to load in a very large number of players, companions, and pets at the same time. There may still be undesired visual effects in these cases, which will be addressed in a later update.
Reduced loading times from login to character select.

Activity Finder

Fixed an issue where disconnected players could block inviting replacements to a dungeon.
Disbanding a group while queued for an activity will no longer give an incorrect message.
Ensured the “Leave Now” option in instances only appears when it is actually possible to leave immediately.

General

Updated some Collectibles' acquire hints to conform to capitalizations standards.

Ability Bar Timers

Adjusted the layout of Ability Bar Timers to increase the size of the back bar display and refined the timer on the front bar display.
Fixed an issue where ability timers would stop displaying when leaving combat.
Fixed an issue where ability timers wouldn't update when changing your ability bar.
Fixed an issue where ability bar icons would occasionally not properly display when they could be activated.

Gamepad Mode

Fixed a UI error that could occur when scrolling through menus.
Fixed a UI error that could appear when staring an ESO Plus Free Trial.
