Can bombers and sorcs counter ball groups?

if a well coordinated group of bombers and sorcs with negate magic attack a ball group, can they be successful?

    Yes, but likely we’d need VD procs to seal the deal. Some groups if you can drop half of them or sometimes even the right 2-3, they go full retreat or start to wipe. Group builds are highly compartmentalized with little to no redundancy in certain support roles.

    Short answer:

    1. You need at least a Necro and a Bombblade (Harmony!). If your damage is good enough, you won't need a Negate, and the Negate won't work anyways against StamWarden- based ball groups. Only Borrowed Time works here (sometimes).

    2. At least 4 Inevitable Detonation throwers (usually MagSorcs) are a threat to 90% of the ball groups.

    3. You can combine point 1 and 2.

    YES! please let there be at least ONE ball group that do damage. I’d love to see a ball group that don’t just act cool by spamming heals and purge in a pvdoor keep across the map.

    Negate is good at shutting down a group, but it is very limited in usefulness. The group needs to be stopped somehow. For example, dropping a negate on a ram is great, it will most of the time shut down the ram as all of the players on the ram die to oils and cannot heal. But a negate dropped on flags or a ball group needs to be coordinated with roots and snares. Because the players have more oppurtunity to just move out of the negate.

    If the ball group are pro players that don't really need to be balled up and know how to roll, block, and move, no amount of negate or bomb attempts will wipe them. It only takes one good healer to negate even the most offensive focuses groups and pushes.

    Defense is stronger than offensive options across the board once the numbers increase greater than the standard AoE limit.

    Lol, no. Siege and overwhelming numbers, or another ball group usually does the trick.

    Bout the best ball group in this current patch is on EP side from a guild called Cutest Boys.

    Much props and respect to those kats. They are seriously hard to take down and usually you don't.

    1. offense is generally stronger than defense, because defense is capped.
    2. my record with Inevitable Deto stands around 130k in one burst, there is no way I could dish out similar healing numbers
    3. real ball groups avoid blocking, as it affects speed and group coherence
    4. pro players or not, a group skill setup leaves a number of classes VERY vulnerable when split up. So almost no ball group splits up, since they can't respecc to solo setup on the run.

    Not right now, because procs are disabled.

    When VD works, sometimes. You’ve got to catch them in a vulnerable position, like when they’re reversing course from being negated in a choke point, or are all in a stairwell and not expecting it. Even then though you’ll probably only get a few.
