I was all set to nerf my wallet to kingdom come for what I thought would be an Imperial/Empire themed year.

But the preview gave me lots and lots (and lots) of Dagon and the Deadlands - both hold ZERO interest for me.
They added a wood elf that grated on my nerves when I met her in Orsinium, and some Daedra that did the same in Coldharbour, as the recurring NPCs.
And they mishmashed the zone between Imperials and Argonians (which I don't dislike, but don't find very interesting, either).

The only, but very BIG saving grace so far are the companions, a system that sounds amazing to me. Well, that and the fact that at least the Tamrielic part is located in a lovely area.

So, sadly, I went from "here, take all my money" to "hmmm, maybe I'll wait for the first discount in late summer".
It will depend on what I hear about the actual stories (maybe the whole Daedra-shabang doesn't eat up half of everything), and on how patient I can be to have Bastian as an adventuring companion (probably won't touch Mirri). I'll definitely buy it this year, though.

For the DLC it's similar. If it's all Daedric nonsense I won't buy it at all, and just play it when I have ESO+ the next time. If it offers more Tamriel it'll depend on the story focus if I get it right away, or wait till it goes on sale.

Man i just spent a couple hundred dollars on crowns today. this game is awesome. ya its got some performance issues and could be the greatest mmo of all time if they manage to fix. go out play some other stuff. i did. came back. totally looking forward to learning more about the culture of the revisted region. this game is vast and full of engaging stories.the majority of the player base is casual and this might be the best expansion for those people with the introduction of companions. this game is still on a upward trajectory still. great game and hope the microsoft take over brings stable servers. im betting it does. this game is a big reason they but $7bil on the line. if you dont think this games brings is millions a month your crazy

I'll buy it when it's on sale. I would have preordered if it was going to be all Imperial. I'm not into the companion thing (unless my friend who's really wanting them says they're better than companions in all the other games I've played where they've been garbage - remember Lydia?) I have zero interest in Evelie Sharp-Arrow or Lyranth Sharp-Tongue. I hope there will be antiquities - besides the mythics which I just don't care about - so I'll dig, and get skyshards and explore. And buy the houses.

As for the money, I sub, and I'll continue to sub - two accounts now, plus a third one this summer. And I buy more crowns when on sale. So I'll spend as much as ever, or more even though I'm not real happy about the "meat" of the year/chapter.

I'm planning to buy it at some point. I've been trying it out on the PTS and it seems pretty good for me, plus I like the welwa mount.

I just need to find somewhere reliable I can get it for about £20, because I think £33 is too much for the parts I'm interested in.

This game only be more and more bugs and broken for evry dlc and companion i would never have. Never spend more money in this game. ESO looks like they dont care about players, you see now this craft bag bug not been fixed and i guess people spent millions for buy a trader shop are mad. This game is like a beta. I pay for craft bag and now i cant use it.

I'm done spending money until they stop nerfing character abilities, CP, and sets to the ground. Companions are a poor substitute for the power we had prior to the last update, and the power we had three months ago is a poor substitute for what we could do two years ago.

Unfortunately I pre-ordered it, before I checked it out this past week on the PTS.

Companions die to the most basic of trash mobs and offer little to nothing.

The oblivion gates are actually tiny little bubbles about the size of your player with 2 guards outside of it, that a lvl 3 templar with a lightning staff and training pants can clear on their own.

And then there's the across the board nerfing.. every CP tree pretty much has 500~750 or so left over CP in it that does nothing for you but unlock optional junk you 'might' want to end up slotting at some point for some reason.

Plus the sets have been trashed once again hitting the middle tier players worse than the high tier.

So.. yep not looking forward to Murkmire 2.0 at all.

I already bought it. New zone to explore. Familiar city to revisit. Old enemy to pester. Companions to play mind games with. I like antiquities and Blackreach, but Blackwood looks to be a step up from Greymoor because I think Companions has more utility.

Based on what I saw in teasers, trailers and presentations, I think that I'll not enjoy much Blackwood. I'm more into landscapes like Summerset, Wrothgar or the whole Skyrim region. But I buy everything from ESO, I already bought it as soon as it was available for sale and I'm going to play everything anyway. I'm always interested in exploring new regions on Tamriel, even the ones that I don't like so much.

Oh! and btw... the light and ambient (with pale colours), based on what they showed on the "Gameplay Demo", looks absolutely hideous compared with everything else we know. Maybe it's just something still on work. Let's hope so.

Speaking of PTS, I wanted to see the content before deciding whether I want to buy this chapter or not.

Just finished the main story on the test server.

Decided not to buy.

I already decided that when I found out for the CP changes with this that I would not be spending anymore money on this game beyond my sub. Maybe, if I can get it for $10 like i did Greymoor, but if not, nah. I feel i'm repeating myself, but it just is painfully obvious ZOS only cares about attracting new players and are assuming that long-time players like me are already playing and subbing so why give us anything that would make the game better for us? I get it from a business standpoint--all tech companies are like this, they only care about growing their user base, assuming new users will replace long-term users who don't like changes. So frankly why give ZOS money for content they didn't create with long-time players like me in mind? Plus I played Oblivion into the ground. I don't really care about Oblivion Crisis for ESO Noobs.

Already nerfed it. I was excited after being gone for a few months but now...I'm going to try and get my money's worth and decide what to do after that. It's not looking good. My small pvp guild folded this morning because of the future nerfs and I don't really know what the future holds.

I was disappointed and had very low expectations when they announced companions as the "big" feature for this year. I preordered for the zone, as usual, and having tested companions on PTS, I'm sorry to say my expectations were met with just how bad they would be (basically Sorc pets that talk and die if something breathes on them). Add in pointless CP nerfs (I mean, really? 40 whole stamina off of block cost? 2% healing done? Oh, boy! What am I going to do with such power?!) and I'm feeling very 'bleh' about this whole year so far.

All in all, I'm in no rush at all to buy the chapter for my second account. I might eventually, if it goes on sale at some point, but until then... I'm waiting to see if ZOS can redeem themselves after the past few patches. Really not happy about the armor changes, the set changes, and the CP changes.

At this point, I have to admit that I'm only really still playing because I enjoy running content with my guilds.
