And then have more lore about Dwarves. An Engineering class would be pretty swell too.

The only Dwemer that would make sense lore wise is if we get Yagrum Bagar after he becomes infected with Corprus but before it has a huge negative impact on his body.

    latest?cb=20180407132659

There is about a 741 year difference between the timeline of ESO and when Yagrum gets to the state we see him in Elder Scrolls III.

So it would be plausible that we can see him and interact with him with a more able body.

There would likely be complications lore wise though that would make this not possible. I can't find anything canon lore wise that says the infection rendered him into his mobile spider contraption around the time ESO takes place. But if that is the case then making custom animation for him would be likely more work than the developers are willing to do for a companion.

(In all seriousness, do not bring back the Dwemer....they should stay a mystery.)

Or do you mean a Human or Elf with Dwarfism? because the Dwemer are extinct.

How about no? It would contradict the lore so much we would get a Dragonbreak here on Earth.

Maybe a Dwemer construct companion, could see something similar to the Sorcs pet line on a new class with the spider and sphere as combat pets with the Centurion for the Ult.

The Dwemer are suppose to have mysteriously disappeared with no one knowing the real reason in the lore, which was still the case in the games set long after ESO, so I doubt they would even be able to use the Dwemer in a DLC.

They could find a lore reason to do it, but IMO they shouldn't. It's one thing to discuss the logic and consistency of the lore, but another to talk about the spirit and interest of the lore.

It would demystify the Dwemer and devalue their history too much.

Now, a Dwemer researcher companion ... or one who maybe believes they're possessed by a Dwemer spirit ... now that could be cool and mysterious and expand the lore.

Dwarven Tinker is an awesome idea for an in-universe class (unlike, cough Templar, cough) but no way can you have a Dwemer as a companion. That would explode the lore of the series.

Now, a Dwemer researcher companion ..
oh well there are quite a few noticable ones we already know of so its definatly possible.

A necromancer might be able to summon a Dwemer spirit. In TES III, Morrowind, there were ghostly dwemer that were sometimes present in Dwemer ruins.

With Dragons they had room in the lore to get away with the changes, that Dragon living at the top of the throat of the world in Skyrim left it open that other Dragons could be around, its hard to wipe something out that can fly away to some remote location every time you try to kill it.

Got more chance of getting a snow elf companion than a Dwemer one, with that quest in Dawnguard DLC for Skyrim, with the Small snow elf shrine settlement that had only recently been wiped out by the Falmer at the time.

I cant remember the exact quote but there is a necromancer npc in Fang Lair that talks about trying to summon Dwemer spirits.
It's something like 'I can make contact with every single thing in this place but when I try the Dwemer I get no response'
I think another npc replies to them but i dont remember what they said.

A good idea, we should totally have an Orc Companion.
Here is the thing, the Orcs are the closest I think to actual stereotypical Dwarves you will have in TES. An Orc Companion would fit rather well with that mold . Here is the thing about the Dwemer, they are extinct basically, all wiped out. They broke time and it wiped them out, the only ones that seem to remain is some ghosts and of course the last living Dwemer. All the rest basically got destroyed by multiple deities and outcomes from the Red Moment Dragonbreak, which effected all Dwemer across all of Tamriel.

So its not possible to have a dwarf companion.

Dwarven are only extinct on Tamriel, there is still 3 other continents that have unknown races and histories. And who's to say we won't see a time travelling Dwarf in ESO at some point? He might not know what happened to his brothers and sisters either. As far as lore goes, ESO is outpacing the lore from the single player games with every year. There isn't much left on the map of Tamriel until we'll be exploring the new races. Something to think about.

AND and engineer class would in my opinion make a lot of sense, in terms of it's uniqueness to the current classes. There's already plenty of Dwemer researchers in game, it would be more unique than just releasing a Witch class.

it would be immersion breaking to see 50 dwarf companions on screen from other players

But a beast companion would be just another form of Warden bear. That doesn't fit at all with the concept of the companions as it has now been developed.

I don't think Corpus starts until after Dagoth Ur wakes up towards the end of the second era (2E882 to be precise).
We don't know when exactly Yagrum returns to Nirn, but around this time frame he should still definitely be healthy.
Disappearance of the Dwarves: "Hmm.... I cannot say what happened. I was not there to observe. I was in an Outer Realm at the time, and when I came back, my people were gone. I left Red Mountain, wandering Tamriel for years, searching our deserted colonies, looking for a survivor or an explanation. Then, a long, long time ago, I returned to Red Mountain, still looking for answers. Instead, I found corprus disease, and I have been here ever since. I have theories, if you are interested."

According to this line in TES3., he pretty much immediately developed the symptoms and became a permanent resident of Corprusarium, which currently hasn't been established yet and currently known as Abanabi Cave, a flooded cavern system under Tel Fyr, housing a mysterious portal to Clockwork City.

My guess is that he is still somewhere in an Oblivion realm and I doubt he is gonna have anything more than a cameo apperance for a few quests.

an engineering class? This is not world of warcraft....

the closest thing to the dwarves of "traditional fantasy" are Nords and funnily enough the Orcs
