CP 2.0 does not fix the game. It is time for ESO 2.0.

Maintenance for the week of April 7:
• [COMPLETE] ESO Store for maintenance – April 10, 12:00PM EDT (16:00 UTC) - 3:00PM EDT (19:00 UTC)
The issues have been resolved for the ESO Store and Account system. Thank you for your patience!

It was never meant to be a complete overhaul of the game, only of the Champion System.

I'm sorry you're not that kind of person. I on the other hand love Lore, Story, and Exploration.

I have been telling myself to lets start ESO, with CP 2.0 i even bought 3 month of subscription but unable to continue after a week of game play.

I remember playing ESO for long times have (7,000+ hours in steam) but something has been missing and made me lost interest in this beautiful game.

New PVP content would be great, for sure. And you're not wrong about the lore and story...I always forget that there is even a storyline or lore in ESO, but I am like that with every MMORPG I've ever played. Every once in awhile I see someone mention it and I'm like "..ooh yeah...there's some sort of story or something here...with some characters doing some kind of thing...right on..." then I go back to whatever I was doing.

While I've only been in ESO for a couple months now so I do not know the issues that upset the OP. However, I would note that fortnite and genshin are not MMORPGs so they are not good games to compare with.

Also, I don't think we have an idea as to what revenue Zenimax pulls in from this game. Have they given us any clue about that. This brings me to another thought, looking at the actual competition to ESO.

WoW is the unquestioned king I'm of successful MMORPGs even if it is not the best we have seen. The current FF MMORPG is considered very successful (of course it probably the oldest and largest gaming IP) From what I saw in a recent thread, ESO is on par with FF for copies sold so that seems to show ESO is doing well and attracting new players like myself.

This is what I believe ESO needs:

    1. Considering ZOS brought many calculations server side, they need to get servers that can handle these calculations better, or move some of the calculations back to clients.
    2. Add more in game earnable items (dyes/mounts/skins/etc), but only if you buy the content or the subscription.
    3. Revamp the equipment traits, because some of them are near worthless.
    4. Make new (third, fourth, or more) morphs. In beta, that is what I thought ZOS would use to enhance their horizontal progression idea.

Those are my thoughts about changes to ESO I'd like to see. I have enjoyed ESO's approach to mmo's, and would rather not have any changes if we lose what is unique about ESO.

Copies sold may sound impressive, but the number I'm interested in is the number of unique log-ins over a normal 30 day period, and by normal I mean a 30 day period without a double XP bonus, or limited time loot.
The problem with society these days is that no one drinks from the skulls of their enemies anymore.

Not to be that person but if ESO wasn't profitable it would be shut down. Everyone has their definition of "dead" or "popular" when it comes to MMO's.

I would take your own advice and just find something that checks all your boxes.

it wasn't meant to fix the game, power creep was getting out of hand plus people where complaining the game was too easy, so they nerfed your characters, plain and simple

Green tree needs to be active passives....period.

Agreed. The majority of players have been complaining that this game was too easy. Just recently, I tried to get one of my friends in this game. We were grinding dungeons and he said his problem with this game is that no one ever seems to die. Whenever I join a pug for normal dungeons everyone just steam rolls it and don't even need a tank or healer. When I tank vets, I maybe die only 1% of the time when doing hard mode if I end up with low cp players. Now ZOS is trying to fix this long running issue.

If I cannot provide cosntructive criticism because some players enjoy the game as it is, then we're at a disagreement, not a situation of telling others to find another game.

    That's obvious.

I don't want another game. I want a better ESO.

You should want a better ESO too, and I'd be confused why you wouldn't.

I read through the original post twice. I didn't see one constructive criticism that offers an alternative or better solution. It is possible they were once there and were snipped out or deleted because of baiting and bashing, but part of constructive criticism is that it should be just that, constructive, rather than stuff that violates the terms and the conditions of the forums and thus won't see the light of day.

What makes the opinions of your friends "incorrect" and yours right?

As much as I dislike the CP system, count me as another person who sees basically any system as being miles above the VR 16 post-end game nightmare.

Considering ESO started development in like 2006 or 2007, if there was a planned "ESO II", and they started development in 2020 (let's assume here)....are you ready to wait like 7 or so years? That puts "ESO II" at a launch date around 2028....which is great and all but does not help everyone still here in 2021.

I hate to point this out but champion points were still a thing during veteran ranks, and they even were uncapped up to a certain point. Here is a patch note thread from the Wrothgar update that has references to capping CP to allocate to 501 while increasing veteran ranks to 16 from 14.
