I had a pug run on nCoS about a week ago and just got my 'animated blastbones' to IV and I mentioned in group chat I was dying to try it out. One dude said we should all die on last boss and let you try it. And funnily enough the other 2 did die, because the kept moving when they were supposed to stand still. And I went over and tried it and sure enough both of them were alive in 1 second. Then I made a joke, 'yup it works', the 2 guys didn't die on purpose but took it in good humor.

I do daily dungeon on all 6 classes per day and can say I have 'no problem' (never close to dying and have had to rez whole team many times) doing all normal/even DLCs with same setup on all of them. And I use leeching, azureblight, grothdar so can do 8K DPS on bosses and 78K is my highest on a huge mob.

I think the DK can be the strongest but it's least fun to play for some reason.
Templar has amazing sustain if you use repentance often like as soon as a body hits the floor (you heal the whole team too)
Sorc, Warden and Necro have some interesting skills that also make them a little fun
But unlike what most people think, I feel like NB for some reason is the most fun/tanky, seems to never come close to dying and does most damage. And the race is even redguard which is not tanky at all like my warden Nord.

I have done Vet non-DLC occasionally too with just changing helm to bloodspawn or other, and all work. Moral of story any class any race can tank probably any content, more important is knowing mechs and teamwork.

I've started tanking again recently, with the idea of building towards group ult generation for dungeons. I thought the most natural choice would be Necro, because I could also use Necrotic Potency and use more Warhorns. But I found it too difficult to sustain stamina.
Then I remembered that I could play any different class and use the vampire drain that gives ult. Switched to a vampire dragonknight, and it works like a charm! Especially considering Warhorns costs 250 ult! Infinite Warhorns. Infinite sustain. And my group mates fire their ults more often than ever. :)

I prefer DK tanking, but mostly just out of familiarity.

I've seen some incredible Warden tanks though.

Love my Nord DK. A complete hoss. But my Argonian Warden is a close second. Those ice shards are so effective on trash mobs

I don't really tank much, but nobody else has a good alternative to Unrelenting Grip. Yeah, Silver Leash exists, but it's stam instead of mag, which kind of ruins it for me.

I have a DK, Templar, Warden, NB and Necro tank. I like my DK best overall due to the sustain and shields and heals that use up magicka so i can keep stam for blocking and roll dodging.
Second I like Necro, then warden, templar,NB. Never tried sorc tanking besides when i fake tank on my sorc DPS.

I play with a team where two are really really awesome DPS/min-maxers, so the other two of us tend to go for healing or tanking. I also like playing around with races and classes (serious Alt-o-holic here).

    So...

Redgard StamSorc Tank: Pretty fun at times, but still getting the hang of him.
Orsimer StamSorc Tank: In all but the hardest content she wears sets that proc electric damage, and she is really fun to play. She was my first tank, and overland she wears Stormfist, Storm Knight and Thunderbug; everyone just dies all around her.

Altmer MagSorc Tank: This one has been really hard to develop. I have high hopes, but I'm just not good at playing her yet. Partly it's cause the ice staff taunt business just doesn't fit in my brain ... yet.

Bosmer StamNecro Tank: She also has the Time Stop from the psijic line, and it works out really well. Between Bone armor, Ebon and Plague Doctor she can stand in stupid quite well, and it takes pressure off the healer. I didn't start gearing her up until we did Wayrest II on vet, and she just couldn't survive the last fight. We took a break, I did some reworking and re-gearing (there are benefits to being a packrat) and boom. Much better now.

Tenesi Faryon of Telvanni - Dunmer Sorceress who deliberately sought sacrifice into Cold Harbor to rescue her beloved.
Hisa Ni Caemaire - Altmer Sorceress, member of the Order Draconis and Adept of the House of Dibella.
Broken Branch Toothmaul - goblin (for my goblin characters, I use either orsimer or bosmer templates) Templar, member of the Order Draconis and persistently unskilled pickpocket
Mol gro Durga - Orsimer Socerer/Battlemage who died the first time when the Nibenay Valley chapterhouse of the Order Draconis was destroyed, then went back to Cold Harbor to rescue his second/partner who was still captive. He overestimated his resistance to the hopelessness of Oblivion, about to give up, and looked up to see the golden glow of atherius surrounding a beautiful young woman who extended her hand to him and said "I can help you". He carried Fianna Kingsley out of Cold Harbor on his shoulder. He carried Alvard Stower under one arm. He also irritated the Prophet who had intended the portal for only Mol and Lyris.
    ***
Order Draconis - well c'mon there has to be some explanation for all those dragon tattoos.
House of Dibella - If you have ever seen or read "Memoirs of a Geisha" that's just the beginning...
Nibenay Valley Chapterhouse - Where now stands only desolate ground and a dolmen there once was a thriving community supporting one of the major chapterhouses of the Order Draconis

    Warden
While the volcanic theme of the DK is my favorite theme for a tank, the Warden simply has more of a tank/support playstyle with the multiple crowd control.
They're very chaotic and annoying compared to DK who are just solid basic tanks.

Note that favorite, does not necessarily mean best/most effective.

I enjoy playing my Warden most :)

I agree on this, I intended this thread as a which do you enjoy most rather than which is best. :D

This is why I started this thread. I am familiar with DK tanking in both vet and vet DLC stuff, but I've noticed many different classes filling a dedicated tank role.

Since I have a fully leveled Stam DK I could swap if necessary, I've decided to try out a Warden Tank.

I love the available tool kit.

I've made an Argonian - "Guards-with-Shields" + it's my first ever Warden attempt also. So I'm excited lol! Thanks for all the input!

Sorc, but I've only tried sorc and DK, and from the two, sorc is more fun. It doesn't have a lot of group utility except minor prophecy, but you have a crowd control class skill with encase, and a silence with the negate ulti, which is fun for dangerous mob packs (even works on some boss fights, like the incineration beatles in blessed crucible), and situationally streak, which helps when you need to position somewhere faster. Your two best skills though are dark deal and bound aegis, and the latter helps so much for hard hits. Dark deal is great for sustain and you could also use it with equilibrium and you are basically a never ending sustain bot, but... you need the slot space for it, and having to slot the clannfear for burst healing makes it hard. This is the only downside of sorcs, the bar space and the clanky costly heal, because of so many other things that you usually have to run. Finally, in dungeons you can play around with different sets that capitalize on shock damage or consussion as well.
