Problem too many transmute crystals?

Have you ever been able to store transmute crystals or can I put them somewhere? I have barely any inventory space left and have well over 1400 now. Iv already used lots up to put into gear just for the sake of having it and using some up

Transmute crystals are not in your inventory, they are in the currency tab. You also can't have 1400 of them, because the cap is 1000 with ESO Plus, unless I'm mistaken.

Do you mean... I don't know, soul gems maybe? Or glyphs?

They could be geodes that haven't been claimed yet

Well if OP is talking about geodes, then I don't think that you can store them. You could try transmuting item to Nirnhoned and then deconstructing them for a chance to get Nirncruxes. Will need the deconstruction recovery passives. That is if all of that still works, been a while since I've had a lot of crystals.

Don't you need a potent nirncrux to start with to transmute it?

i have 1 special character for geodes from cyrodiil rewards (at the end of campaign i login with him at take rawards from mail) and several chests in the home with reconstructed items (reconstruct any item with 25 crystals and when you need them back just deconstruct it). this really helps with storing transmute crystals.

This is the answer for the lucky people who have to many.

Does transmutation use trait items now? I took a longish break from the game, but it used to be that it didn't.

    Yes

Sorry, was on my phone, did not see the Traits in that statement, must the Mats. It used the Tempers.

No they don't. Reconstruction only uses transmute stones and any gear quality upgrade materials.

Has anybody tested whether breaking down reconstituted gear always gives you 25 crystals back?

If that's true, then you can always make extra copies of your favorite mythic items. For example, I think a lot of my characters may soon have Rings of the Wild Hunt.

    You can't deconstruct Mythic Gear.

But you can convert it to something that you know all items for (easy ones are arena special bow/resto since there's only 1 to get) Then "store" geodes in those items, at base level they are made (so you don't spend improvement materials)

Can also make untraited weapons, use stones to convert to nirnhoned, and deconstruct for potent nirn.

By the way -- I used to keep every box or geode unopened that had more than 5 crystals. Then I raised that limit to 10. It's now up to 50; I have 60 50-crystal geodes stashed away, as well as ~900 individual crystals, and I intend to keep spending to stay below the 1000 cap.

For example, I'm on my way to having a number of Burning Spellweave staffs -- one Infused with a Weapon Damage glyph for the backbar, one for more frontbar uses, one with a Prismatic Glyph to front-bar against daedra, and then I'll consider whether I want more yet.

Transmutation does not use a trait stone. So converting a weapon to nirnhoned and deconstructing it gives you a good chance at Nirncrux.

That's how I've been keeping on top of my transmute stones.

If you have any set collection maxxed out, you can just craft a bunch of items at base quality, so it will cost only 25 crystals each. Then store the items in a chest or bank. When you need the crystals, take those items and deconstruct them. You will get back 25 crystals each.

Pretty easy with arena weapons like maelstrom bow because they only have 1 item per collection.
