Transmute crystals are not in your inventory, they are in the currency tab. You also can't have 1400 of them, because the cap is 1000 with ESO Plus, unless I'm mistaken.
Do you mean... I don't know, soul gems maybe? Or glyphs?
But I don't think you can put them into gear
Well if OP is talking about geodes, then I don't think that you can store them. You could try transmuting item to Nirnhoned and then deconstructing them for a chance to get Nirncruxes. Will need the deconstruction recovery passives. That is if all of that still works, been a while since I've had a lot of crystals.

Don't you need a potent nirncrux to start with to transmute it?

No

No they don't. Reconstruction only uses transmute stones and any gear quality upgrade materials.Viewsfrom6ix wrote: »Does reconstruction use trait mats or no?

If that's true, then you can always make extra copies of your favorite mythic items. For example, I think a lot of my characters may soon have Rings of the Wild Hunt.
If you have any set collection maxxed out, you can just craft a bunch of items at base quality, so it will cost only 25 crystals each. Then store the items in a chest or bank. When you need the crystals, take those items and deconstruct them. You will get back 25 crystals each.Have you ever been able to store transmute crystals or can I put them somewhere?

Pretty easy with arena weapons like maelstrom bow because they only have 1 item per collection.
Yep, I have a chest filled with 40+ maelstrom bows. That's 1000+ crystals there aloneThat's all I do, my storage chests are full of monster masks I reconstructed
