Hiding "crotch flaps" and faulds, unfortunately for you guys, is probably even less likely to happen. I'm assuming ZOS would have to go through every one of the hundreds of armor styles and edit the models so those parts can be hidden, which I don't see them doing. The head, chest, legs, belt, hands, and feet are presumably all separate models, which is why you're able to mix and match them. The faulds and flaps aren't. The exception is that the tabards replace the torso of chest armor, but I assume that's an ability they add to every new armor anyway.
Surprisingly, every single option to hide different pieces is already there in the current game and has been there since at least 2017/2018 -- including hip tassets and loin cloth. Being an addon developer, you get to see some of the deeper API calls and things in the game. The options seem to be hidden client side, and locked server side so they cannot be altered via addons, etc (see my other post on another similar topic below). Going off of that information, presumably the tassets and loin cloth may actually be "child" attachments to the main "parented" piece (chest, legs, etc) via X, Y, Z coord or attachment point Ids. This could support why they move differently than the leg/chest armor when your player moves. With this type of trait, visibility should easily be toggled via the game or an addon if they are enabled at some point. Another interesting point to make here is we know that the hips (and sometimes loin cloth) sometimes appear to "float" (similar to shoulders) or appear completely out of place depending on things like character size, etc. To me, this further supports that they may be separate models and not scaled/attached properly to fit. With the parameters from the ESO API, visually seeing the difference in movement, and having worked on 3d modeling for video games - I would bet the aforementioned is likely the case and it is entirely possible to hide what a player wishes to. The caveat here is the community doesn't have access to the actual model files or coded information from devs to confirm everything. We know one thing for sure, the option to do all of this IS in the code, the rest only the devs truly know.
ZOS has no doubt heard this discussion on many occasions, the question is will they.
+1 from me on adding the options and even more amazing customization to the game.

Interestingly enough, if you look in the ESO API, the option is there. The tassets/loin cloth is (hidden) under Settings-> Gameplay in the same spot where you can hide mount appearance features and polymorph helm. The ability to hide other armor pieces like shoulders, etc are in the same spot as the "Hide Helm" option at dye stations but they as well are still hidden/locked out (shoulders, etc). All of these options have been there for years.Enemy-of-Coldharbour wrote: »Get rid of hip flaps and crotch flaps (or at least provide a toggle to hide them).
Case and point, it's there, it's just not enabled for players. I would have to guess one big reason "why" we don't have these options yet is the endless controversy of hiding armor pieces other than a helmet. Some of the same people that boast "let people enjoy things" are the same ones that double-standard it because of the potential to inconvenience their ideal "standard" since people might just end up running around in their digital underwear.Thing is, people already do this anyway by taking their armor off. Personally, I have a feeling extending more options with character customization design to how anyone personally wants their character to appear would FAR outweigh the latter worries in a positive way and benefit everyone in the longrun.

ZOS appears only publicly acknowledge issues they already have figured out a fix. If they happen to have an unsolved issue with hiding shoulders &cet better not hold your breath waiting for response.
