I really only see them adding the option to hide shoulders, chests, legs, belts, hands, and feet. Hiding "crotch flaps" and faulds, unfortunately for you guys, is probably even less likely to happen. I'm assuming ZOS would have to go through every one of the hundreds of armor styles and edit the models so those parts can be hidden, which I don't see them doing. The head, chest, legs, belt, hands, and feet are presumably all separate models, which is why you're able to mix and match them. The faulds and flaps aren't. The exception is that the tabards replace the torso of chest armor, but I assume that's an ability they add to every new armor anyway.

Surprisingly, every single option to hide different pieces is already there in the current game and has been there since at least 2017/2018 -- including hip tassets and loin cloth. Being an addon developer, you get to see some of the deeper API calls and things in the game. The options seem to be hidden client side, and locked server side so they cannot be altered via addons, etc (see my other post on another similar topic below). Going off of that information, presumably the tassets and loin cloth may actually be "child" attachments to the main "parented" piece (chest, legs, etc) via X, Y, Z coord or attachment point Ids. This could support why they move differently than the leg/chest armor when your player moves. With this type of trait, visibility should easily be toggled via the game or an addon if they are enabled at some point. Another interesting point to make here is we know that the hips (and sometimes loin cloth) sometimes appear to "float" (similar to shoulders) or appear completely out of place depending on things like character size, etc. To me, this further supports that they may be separate models and not scaled/attached properly to fit. With the parameters from the ESO API, visually seeing the difference in movement, and having worked on 3d modeling for video games - I would bet the aforementioned is likely the case and it is entirely possible to hide what a player wishes to. The caveat here is the community doesn't have access to the actual model files or coded information from devs to confirm everything. We know one thing for sure, the option to do all of this IS in the code, the rest only the devs truly know.

ZOS has no doubt heard this discussion on many occasions, the question is will they.

+1 from me on adding the options and even more amazing customization to the game.

Get rid of hip flaps and crotch flaps (or at least provide a toggle to hide them).
Believe it or not, there is already the option to hide tassets and loin cloth. Interestingly enough, if you look in the ESO API, the option is there. The tassets/loin cloth is (hidden) under Settings-> Gameplay in the same spot where you can hide mount appearance features and polymorph helm. The ability to hide other armor pieces like shoulders, etc are in the same spot as the "Hide Helm" option at dye stations but they as well are still hidden/locked out (shoulders, etc). All of these options have been there for years.

Case and point, it's there, it's just not enabled for players. I would have to guess one big reason "why" we don't have these options yet is the endless controversy of hiding armor pieces other than a helmet. Some of the same people that boast "let people enjoy things" are the same ones that double-standard it because of the potential to inconvenience their ideal "standard" since people might just end up running around in their digital underwear. :o Thing is, people already do this anyway by taking their armor off. Personally, I have a feeling extending more options with character customization design to how anyone personally wants their character to appear would FAR outweigh the latter worries in a positive way and benefit everyone in the longrun.

    @ZOS_RichLambert

Well, there you go. I guess there has to be some other reason why they haven't added it, but who knows? And I'd always assumed that the tassets and cloth have their own bones, or at least the cloth does. I know at least in Blender you can apply a mesh to a bone so it follows it but doesn't bend, which seems to be the case for a good amount of the tassets in this game. Some, however, do deform with the player's legs. I assume the cloth is like the hair, which likely has bones with a specific animation whenever you jump or run, since they always move the same way regardless of model. Anyway, that obviously isn't important lol. I just like guessing at how these things may have been made.

Would love the ability to hide the shoulders at the very least, very cumbersome and unsightly on many outfits!

Oh yes, please. That would be awesome.

Same thing for the body parts who cover the hips.

I see the post about the hide shoulders option being a thing that exists but isn't implemented. I did not know they'd have a hide tassets and loin cloth features. Tassets are one thing, but the loin cloth bits on armor pieces are attached to the geometry, so getting rid of them must take some work at least when designing to some extent. But the fact that it's hidden in the code as an option irritates me.

Why, ZoS? This ruins no immersion and only ENHANCES immersion. It allows players to design outfits the way they want to.

We should be able to hide shoulders and tabards, at the very least. Asking for this is becoming really irritating at this point. They could at least come out and say why they haven’t given us the options.

There have been sooo many of these threads especially on hide shoulders and I've never seen a response.
Especially the shoulders are just ugly and out of place on light and medium armour.
Yes we can use Honor guard shoulders but they are hellishly expensive exactly for this reason, and they drop out of BRP.

I don't buy a lot of outfits or costumes for this reason.
I will not wear anything with tassets, crotch flaps or too big shoulders. It limits me from buying a lot of cool outfits I would buy except all pleasure from them is diminished by the look of all this costume bloat.

If they'd just come out and say that they're struggling with the issue, I'd be infinitely more understanding. But ghosting us every time we ask for this is just infuriating.

Yeah, I am going to agree -- please let us hide some of these things.... especially the Crotch Capes ....While my Orc is all that is orc, that member of his anatomy does not need a cape.

Good point. Plus a lot of shoulder pieces look weird af on "bare" or sparse chest pieces like fang lair. They just kind of float there. You gotta find one that looks feasible which sorta limits the options.

Best options I have found are Skaal, on the more barbaric types -- honor, if you can hide it inside your other armor, or mercenary, as it's a single small leather piece in the light version.......

Not many choices, to be honest.

I have a theory about why they're not giving us this option. When we have our weapons on our back, like a sword or a staff, shoulders decide at what distance does that weapon float from our character model. Let's say you use X chest motif, this chest motif has some volume to it on the back, if you use that same X motif for shoulders your staff will be perfectly placed, if you use Z motif for shoulders it might clip inside X chest motif.

Now, this is already an issue as we combine motifs already and having no shoulders would have the same effect. Let that be our own choice and let us be beautiful ZOS!

If 'hide' xxx armor piece is too hard, then make a new style where each piece of that style is invisible. Heck, even sell the style in the crown store if desired. Years of silence on this so oft asked request is frustrating, bordering on insulting to players.

Looks like U36 contains some qol features that no one asked for. I'd ever so much prefer that ZoS incorporated qol features that so many players have been asking for consistently for years.
