The Harrowstorm grind

Absurd. At the moment on PC/EU I do not have even time to reach before its already done. I am not even joking, there are so many players farming it ,its done in blink of an eye, what is the point of it? These mobs are made of paper ,can you at least increase their HP. I am lost 15 minutes running up and down I have no time to re spec or make my way before its already done and then if I want to use swift travel to wayshrine I get lag. What is supposed to be highest landscape difficulty content you are making it feel as cheese walk.

I felt like a mindless drone, ridding from one point to other ,bosses are annihilated in less than a minute. There were huge amount of players there. It was spectacular at first ,but now hell of an annoying even for a solo player around ,I swear once I had massive lag spike and Was disconnected because of massive influx of players at point.

Its not on going process. Can you AT LEAST reduce the spawn rate of harrowstorms??

P.S. Did Reachwind one in Markarath, it was so fast I barely had time to come and click few buttons to get the credit.

I wonder how many players actually do enjoy going through or they feel "forced" to farm their champion points??

Why are you not grouping up with the others who are getting there first and port to their location? The other option is to stand at one of them and wait for the other two to finish then follow the crowd as they hit the next one.

The other extreme is nobody doing harrowstorms makes it almost impossible to finish 1. If you're having a problem getting to the above ground harrowstorms why not try the ones in blackreach? Also the new perks to have rapids without rapids should get you anywhere fast enough...especially in a small zone like the reach

I never knew people are farming Harrowstorms now... may be because I don't go into W.Skyrim or the reach very often anymore.
Is it for exp or for those new furniture plans what drop now in those zones?

Whenever I go do these it's like 3-4 people at the most. During the Skyrim event it was nuts, but today, not so much. This is PC-NA though.

It's not a great way to farm XP either.

Why are people farming Harrowstorms? XP, gear or something else?
I haven't actually bothered doing them since the event a few months back, normally it was just me, myself and I. And those Shrike enemies are a nightmare solo..

Regardless on what certain individuals say, I will stay firm of my original statement. Harrowstorm Cooldown must be increased or bosses/mobs significantly beefed up. Also the lag cause in Markarath ,It may happen as well with the Dark Anchors in Vanilla regions too.,not to mention they take away half of your screen.

As for farming probably for XP or certain loot, its basically no effort. You can join a massive group and travel to one point to another on map.

This is only true for a few total hours a week, during primetime. A couple hours friday, saturday, and sunday.

    Not an issue.

Anyway, the only thing there is to "farm" is the reliquary boxes, for the plans, and the decent drop rate of vile coagulant which still gets 1.5 - 2k per. I think a significant amount of people also prioritize it near the top of their dailies just out of fun and the still new-ness of the zones.

The ones in The Reach are currently active on xbox EU.

One of the dailies for the new furniture patterns is doing a harrowstorm. A lot of people are smashing the dailies out on a lot of characters to get them.

PC NA here - mostly I find Harrowstorms ignored. Sometimes there are two or three players, which experience has taught me is simply an invitation to wipe. So generally I pay them no mind as I find the fail rate too high to be bothered. Just like dragons, which I totally ignore now.
PC NA(no Steam), PvE, mostly solo

leads furnishing plans drop from both the storm itself and the daily so they are worth doing.

But No buff to them at all one only has to look as Elswyer dragons to see how difficult farming them will be after blackreach comes out, people will move on and anyone wanting anything from the storms will be screwed if there hp is buffed.

The funny thing is, according to the patch notes, the Markarth plans only drop after turning in delves and world bosses. It might be kind of funny if people grind harrowstorms for those with no chance of getting them.

Of course, those patch notes might have considered storms to be world bosses (for some reason), or just have been negligent in their wording.

You can see the difference between the three types of boxes and which of your characters have how many of each. Can't remember if that's from an addon, but I would think so.

as i was moslty farming a lead for the vampire glass window i moslt picked up only the HS daily and i can confirm i got a markarth plan from them so its likly a oversight on the notes.

While we're discussing Harrowstorms, I think the trick for them is to stop a certain kind of mob from getting to a certain place.

Could somebody please spell out an accurate version of that? :) Thanks!

I don't understand, if others can, why can't you? You have all the tools you need: permanent faster mount speed via the Assault passive and the possibility to group with others that are already running the Harrowstorm grind via zone chat.
I am a noob in ESO with about 4 months experience, but hell if i complain half as much.
People, snap out of it. Stop it with the "nerf this, nerf that" topics, it's because of people like you ZOS breaks the gameplay experience for everyone else.

My understanding is that a new HS goes up as soon as one goes down, correct me if I'm wrong, so talking about "cooldowns" doesn't really make sense. As to the rest, it varies depending on the time of the day, but I like being able to do them more than I like laying there in wait for just one or two more people (because that's all it takes for a HS, assuming they're decent) like it happens in Western Skyrim. In the reach, you don't even have to ask in the group chat, just look at the sky, most are visible even from very far-awat wayshrines. If your PC setting don't allow, just shrine-hop till you find the nearest one, if it goes down follow the others. Also never had any real lag in HSs, I think it might be more of a FPS issue.

It's one of the sources of Vampiric furniture plans. The Reach is smaller than Western Skyrim, so it makes a better farming location. Compare Anequina and Pellitine for dragon farming.

Also harrowstorm coffers are the same as delve and WB coffers.

on xbox NA it took 30-60 seconds yesterday to burn down a storm.

Many players, and many giving group buffs.

But I did not see it as a problem. If you want to farm them and have a slow mount, stay at the northern markarth or the south-eastern wayshrine. From each you can reach 2 storms very quick, and if you see none of these 2 coming up, just travel to the other one.

Like this you would not miss them.

not only motifs, but the dailies also drop Arkthanz Sprocket now and then from the reward boxes.
This ingredient is required to create the new Markarth furniture.

Drop rate is pretty bad, maybe each 4th crate. So I used all my 18 toons to run each of the 3 dailies.
Because of demand and bad drop rate, price in guildstores currently is 7-8k per sprocket.

Stop the ghosts reaching the pikes. Enough of them manage it, you get a boss spawn in the centre. You can get overwhelmed if too many are in the mix (like the hateful shrikes). I've done this with my tank and 1 DD. Tank doesn't even need to kill them, just chain/leash them once and move on. They remain stunned in place till they despawn for the next wave.

Tank controls the ghosts, no spawns.. DD only has to deal with pikes and occasional trash.

[Edit] Didn't finish properly. Rinse/repeat till the Harrow main boss spawns...

Is there any downside to a non-tank being a good citizen and slotting a chain skill to take care of it? Or do they literally stop doing anything the first time they're pulled?

Chain/leash a ghost, it stops dead (pun not intended). Doesn't matter if it's a DD, Tank or Healer even... the result is the same

[Another edit] To clarify, chaining a ghost once is enough to stop it advancing. It'll not move again. You could chain it again, but all that'll do is move it somewhere new.

Can't see the problem here. If you're not fast enough to reach another one, just stay where you are and wait - it'll pop up again quickly if they're being completed as fast as you say.

oh but this would demand from players some strategic thinking and patience instead of complaining and there is no forum points for this

Literally what I did in Elsweyr with dragons, before my mount was fast enough. You know what, it actually works ;)

You want the Lost Souls (blue ghosts) to not make it to the Witch Pikes, whether that's through crowd controlling them or just killing them. Every time one makes it to a pike, the pike heals for a bit and it contributes towards spawning another mini-boss.

While any pikes are up, 9 souls periodically spawn. If you have all 3 pikes up the lost souls spread evenly among them, but by the time you're down to the last pike all 9 lost souls will attempt to move towards that one.

southern elsweyr dragon hunts are still active in the evening and I think it's because the dragons are much easier to get to then the northern elsweyr sites

I can confirm that furniture plans are dropping in the Gray Reliquary Satchel's sometimes awarded by the Harrowstorm itself. So far I get the impression you might get furniture from those ("Vampiric" chairs, drapes, etc), while the dailies have a chance to drop structural items ("Markarth" floors, walls, etc) which are selling for a lot right now.

I welcome the crowds and find the fast turnover easy to deal with; lets my low level alts score daily coffers just by showing up in time to land a few hits, and I can almost always run across a storm on my way to/from the delve and boss dailies. Sure, they're sometimes over by the time you get there, but that happens all the time throughout the game. I will say the traffic makes for crazy lag (on Xbox at least): I am often fighting invisible mobs among player silhouettes.

A bit off-topic, but: anyone know if the Wayward Guardian dailies drop those Markarth plans like the delve/boss/storm ones do? You can only access them if you've done 6/9 story quests in The Reach, but they so far drop the same gear as the other dailies. They're much like a delve: go to a site and gather a few items.
