It was a very bad design decision and it's a shame that ZOS can't see that while a large amount of players can.

I know this is about to get locked but uh.. bit dramatic huh? It's just small perks. Choose things you like or grind enough CP to have all the ones you like slotted at once.

I have a few gripes with the new systems, mostly that there isn't enough variance in builds.
DPS almost always takes all the same Blue and Red CPS.

We need more variety. A magdk and magsorc run basically identical CP. Make more CP stars that emphasize DOT damage so that Magdk gravitates to that. Make max magicka traits actually good so pets in magsorc want to take it.

Overall though, I like the new system.

Hey all, those of you on the Xbox One EU server may know me as The Killa Bunny (or my new gt - A Cosmic Elf). You may have seen me wander about on this game since release. I craft, quest, explore, gather etc on my stealthy Stamblade main. In all those years hardly a day has gone by without logging in. However, the update has left me feeling so broken hearted about the changes to the way I like to play, putting a championship slot mini-game in the way of pretty much everything I used to enjoy doing, that I could previously do seamlessly on a whim, without thinking ‘oh do I have this slotted?’ - this is just one change too far. I don’t enjoy playing like this. I don’t want to play like this. I refuse to play like this. I have cancelled my ESO+ and will not be returning to the game unless changes are made to that green tree.

I have earned my stripes, guys! I deserve to have all of my hard earned crafting abilities and stealth and exploration and gathering abilities up 100% all of the time. I don’t want to keep opening this menu just so I can play at the same level that I used to play at before this change. They haven’t added value to the game for me with this update, instead I feel like they’ve taken hard earned skills away, and stuck them behind this god-awful new system, that doesn’t let me wander about and play like I used to. They should all be passives.

I feel like I’m grieving because this is no longer the game I knew and loved. We’ve all had to cope with so much in the past year. I can’t cope with this and I don’t even want to. This isn’t fun anymore. It might sound sad but I’m in bits about it. I’ve lost sleep and suffered a migraine over this. But I am resolute. I’m not prepared to play like this. I’ve been through a lot over the years and seen many changes to the game, most have been for the better. None impacted on my daily life on ESO like to the extent that this has. Honestly, I can’t even work out who this change does benefit. Certainly not the day-one veteran who crafts, gathers, quests and explores on main.

I always thought that I’d be on this server the day they switched it off, like you’d have to drag me away from ESO. I never would have guessed that years down the line they would make a change like this that would put me off playing at all, but here we are.

It sounds like a break from eso would be good to you, it's only a game after all and if you have had migraines then you're way tp invested lol

No one really cares that you are leaving. Players leave games every day without an announcement on the forums. Actually the people who announce it on the forums usually do it as an ultimatum. "Game sucks now, i am leaving" but then they lurk because they don't want to leave, they want things to be different. Those that really want to leave just leave without any fanfare, usually. There are exceptions.

If you really want your voice heard and are really quitting then leave legit feedback to support and leave a honest review of the game. That will do more to get your point across than a goodbye thread that will just get locked.

I didn’t post this because I thought any of you would care. I didn’t post this because I wanted replies. They can lock it all they like.

Did you know that in all my time of playing this is like the first time I’ve ever posted on this forum? Because I know it’s garbage.

If you don’t think I’m serious then really you don’t know me. All of my guildmates and Xbox live friends will attest that I’ve been gone since they updated with this mess. It’s not like I don’t have anything else to play. I have 6 years of catch-up on my gaming pile of shame, currently playing Fable anniversary, I have four AC games, The Witcher and a Tomb Raider game - stuff that just sat there while I was addicted to ESO.

The only thing these people understand is money, and I vote with my wallet. Thank god I didn’t pre-order Blackwood.

You can all be good little sheep and adjust to this style of playing if you wish. Personally I can’t see how you’re enjoying it more than how we used to play. Funny how no one can tell me who this change did benefit, huh?

Off you go now to play your championship slot mini-game. Have fun!

That’s what the OP did. ‘Legit feedback’ on the game’s official forum.

And OP, sorry to hear you’re leaving. There are different ‘last straws’ for different folks but I do hope Zos/Microsoft will take these feedback into account. It’s easy to block and censor but harder to listen.

Yes its a very bad System. I think its one of the worst design decision I have seen a company make in recent years.
I guess they all had halluzinations from being sick with Corona while they designed that green tree.

But dont you think you overreact a little?

I too dislike the star-swapping minigame that replaced my previous fluid gameplay of logging into Belkarth, doing my writs, deconstructing my junk, repairing my armor, stealing/pick, pick, stabbing a few people, fencing the loot, then heading out for the morning coffee & mat/chest farming loop of Craglorn without ever having to slot or unslot anything.

But, alas, ZOS has decided that they like the star-swapping mingame.

Nor do they allow quitting threads. So before they lock this, best of luck to you!

This is well put. Read a few threads and didn't get the fuss but reading this and I get it.

I do get the need for balance around things that affect others offence, defence etc impact PvP and change was needed.

But these changes for folks who want to do as Varanis seem a really foolish Change.

We all know computer games are a waste of our time, but when you become Cognizant of it - and it's often a small change like this that can do it, it's really dangerous and players can switch off.

I'm not personally impacted as only PvP now. But I very much used to play like this so I'm in solidarity with the case here.

Honestly though, I agree with you somewhat, ZOS doesn't seem to listen to constructive criticism until enough people make a fuss. We need more stars like Homemaker or Liquid Efficiency and fewer like Angler's Instincts or Meticulous Disassembly that I'm only going to use for one thing and then swap out. Master Gatherer and Plentiful Harvest should be passive. Please don't strip away the basic features we've grown used to and then sell them back to us as limited edition.

I mean.. not everyone likes this update, I get it.
But seriously.. You gonna judge it and decide that it's garbage and leave and you haven't even given it an honest try of at least a couple of days?
I mean.. aren't you judging a book by its cover right now pretty much?
You're reading the first page and is like "Nope, this whole book is garbage".

At least try it out some more before making such a big decision.
You might still not like it.
But maybe you can find something that'll make it endurable enough.

Also, calling people who can adjust to things "sheep", I mean, come on..
Nothing wrong about being able to adjust to changes.
I'm pretty sure you've adjusted to changes this game has had during all the years it's been online.
Or are you telling me you were still playing ESO 1.0 up til now and ZOS forced this patch on you?
well then I can understand your big outrage seeing how that's years of changes all together.
Must've been too much to handle in one go.

Tbh, you can absolutely play at that same level you could before the update without really engaging in the swapping minigame, since only like 6 of the actives were present in CP1. And even then, only 4 really matters (Master Gatherer, Plentiful Harvest, Treasure Hunter, Steed's Blessing), as War Mount is an overpriced star with a pointless benefit and cost reduction on reparing is also unnecessary since I'm sure we all have like a billion repair kits saved up.
Even the speed increase (Steed's Blessing) is pointless imo, but that's only an opinion.

So really, if you only want to be at the same level as you were before the change, you can absolutely can be without ever swapping actives. Some of these returning actives even got buffed to high heaven, like Plentiful Harvest's max benefit is now 50% instead of 10%.

That being said, the green tree iS rather badly designed, the stars have too narrow usecases.
