i ve been cod mail buyer my items 12 days ago. But i ve been couln't get refund. i opened ticket a lot of times, but my issue didn't resolve. only waiting. there is a scammer?

Yeah this is a pretty serious bug, and the response from support is ridiculous. Why hasn't anyone from zos acknowledged this yet?

A trust send is like saying you want to sell a motif for 20k, so you post it in guild chat or zone chat. Someone agrees to buy it. Instead of attaching the motif and putting 20k COD on the mail, you just mail the motif to that person and trust they will mail you the 20k (or vice versa, maybe you ask them to send the 20k first and they have to trust you will mail them the motif).

Because right now, if you put that 20k COD on the motif mail and send it to the buyer, there’s a good chance the buyer will get the motif AND that 20k that should have gone to you will bounce off you, without your knowledge, and return to the buyer. So, now they have their 20k back plus your motif and you have nothing.

Then you put in a support ticket and get told sorry, nothing they can do to help you recover your loss.

It’s basically made every mail transaction as risky as trying to buy or sell Crowns in zone chat. Because that’s all based on the “trust send” concept as well.

No scammer. COD mail literally got broken by Update 29.

The fact that ZOS has not commented on this is ridiculous. Its in a number of my guilds and on zone chat in PS4Na, its a widespread issue and yet there is still silence.

are those errors lua errors? if so, most likely an addon causing it. as for the need to reload/relog to see stuff in your inventory, that could be an addon thing, too. my guilty addon was item saver. not yet updated. if you use it, uncheck it.
if not, you may have to try to determine if an addon is causing your trouble. glwt; pita, i know. sorry if you dont use addons, well i can't help you

I’m on PS4 NA, which is a console so, no, there are no add-ons.

I hope this happens only with COD/Player Mail and not the ones considered as "System". Just lost 6x stacks of Ancestor Silk plus a 600 Vouchers worth Master Writ contract because of this bug. Fingers crossed to not have System Mail affected too or I'll lose around 3kk worth of items O_O

I've started keeping track of how bad this is and since this was brought to my attention I've done 13 CODs, 5 failed.

Seems crazy they're not even acknowledging this pretty major issue. I know it was the weekend when we first reported but it's now Tuesday.

I also, for the first time this week have brought 2 items from a guild store and they never showed up.
Luckily, they were low cost items, so I didnt bother about it too much, but that's kind of ridiculous. Anyone else had that one show up? (I ask here because it's also mail system related. The store registered I brought them, they vanished from the store)

Thank you for the heads up. I don't use COD that often since the vast majority of my sales are through guild traders.

As for auctions, it may be better to designate a trusted officer to be the intermediary between all transactions. Basically, the winner of the auction sends X gold to the Auction Officer, who then sends the winner their item.

That person could keep track of total gold by putting all of their previous gold stored on their character in their own bank, then tallying up the total amount from sales. On PC, add-ons might make this tallying easier but I am not really familiar with which ones that are used.

I certainly hope this issue gets fixed!

OK, now THAT is potentially a whole new level of bad.

CoD issues can be worked around by trust sending and/or trading in person, and are probably only a small percentage of the in-game economy anyway, but if guild traders can't be trusted any more then theres not really a practical workaround, and a lot more people could potentially be affected directly and indirectly.

Did you try completely shutting down the game then restarting it to see if that'd cause the missing mail/goods to reappear?

We know that some items have been in inventory but invisible to the player until a restart audits the inventory, making it visible again.
Thats just an annoyance, but if its really missing instead of just not visible, and not just some bizzare one-off then every trading guild on PC NA is gonna have a very bad time once word spreads.
Possibly even ALL the traders on all the servers.

Firstly that made me laugh. Hysterically. Because that's how I felt at the time.

Secondly, It was right before I was logging, I ported around a few times to a few different lands, and ported around to my houses. Two mails of other stuff I had brought appeared between different ports. I tried porting around again, and nothing more showed up. Since I had to go to bed, I didnt try a full relog, and I havent had time to log back in since to check if they have now miraculously appeared in my mails, but I did port back to the trader and double checked and 100% the items were gone. The only way I can think that this isnt a bug, is that maybe someone yanked it out from under me in their actual bank store interface, but again, it took my gold for the items, So that cannot be the case >.<

I was hoping it may just be a mail delay, as I've had that in the past (a few years ago I had a weird bug where mail would show up like 2-3 days later after I'd brought something, this was after another small update they'd apparently done to the mail system). But yeah, Im not 100% if they are now there or not. I've been having the usual mail bugs, the items not appearing (from the daily crafting people - It appears with the good old question mark box instead of the actual item picture), or I cant take the items out, or just random blank mails from them. I've had the same issues with rewards for the worthy as well.

I think in general they need to take a deep look at their mail system. So many bugs over the years, Most of them are able to be worked around, but yikes for guilds in general on this one, and players who operate on a trust system that usually works - The amount of distrust it's going to cause is astronomical, especially for guilds.

I'll be logging in, in a few hours, so I'll double check whether the missing items have appeared spontaneously, I'll report back. In the mean time, I reposted this link to some discords Im in to warn people about OP's specific post and told people about my issue and to double check and maybe just write down their transactions so they have a record and can see if things go missing/dont appear. I don't buy anything but housing items, so for me it's not a MASSIVE deal compared to some poor person trying to buy 30x single platings and then only getting like 27 of them in the mail or something, and they dont even realize because their not keeping track. Le Sigh

Could this be affected by a full mail in box?

I actually had a strange mail occurrence today: I sent two items (patterns/plans) from my second account to my first account on PC/NA (because the main on my first account is my furniture crafter). When they arrived I was on one of my lower levels, who was in the mail interface to send something to a friend. The mail sound happened, there was a 1 next to the envelope, and once I'd finished the send, I had the character swap to the incoming mail screen and no mail was there. The 1 beside the envelope went away. So I was pretty baffled, and swapped to my second account to see if something had caused it to go back. Nope.

Scratching my head, I returned to my first account to finish up some digs. About two hours later, I got the notification of the mail again, and this time it was really there. Really weird....

@BlueRaven It could be, if I had had anywhere close to a full mail box. I religiously keep mine almost empty, save for the 3 guild mails I get every week.

UPDATE: I just logged in, my missing mail items have not shown up.

I think it's best to use the physical trade with player via meeting up in zone or using a guild trader until this is fixed.

Even when this is fixed, it will have some everlasting effects on the community where they won't trust it anymore
