Any magic user who isn’t looking at Ancient Grace jewelry is doing themselves a disservice.
I find PVP DPS to be a bit of an oxymoron, or at the very least, not a stat worth looking at. I believe this thread is in the context of PVE DPS, and certainly, you dont want to use AG for that.
That said, Ancient grace is very strong right now for PVP, since procs are on a 6 month hiatus. Burst matters in PVP, Not DPS.
I believe the most stat dense PVP setup you can get right now is 5 Crafty, 3 Ancient, 2 trainee, 1 Domi, 1, Swarm Mother, but dont hold me to that.
That’s not far off from what I’m doing. 5 crafty, 3 ancient, 1 domi, 1 magicka shoulder of something, and 2 willpower.
But yeah, no worries. I suck against dummies anyway! lol
Why are dummies harder than real people? That’s the important question!
I think it is because dummy parses are always in the context of how you relate to those at the top. PVP is just about you vs the other guy, and the other guys skill level is all over the map. Plenty of ways to kill the other guy that dont involve a perfect weave and casting a skill every second on the GCD with no delay. Any deviation from that approach on a dummy gives very poor results, relative to the youtubers we all see pulling tons of DPS.
The difference between 2 Trainee and 2 Willpower is that basically Trainee gives an extra 1452 health in exchange for 298 less magic. So technically, Willpower will hit harder, but I would take the extra health any day of the week. Trainee also offers a little more flexibility in your gear setup as Willpower is confined to weapons and jewelry.
Thanks for the info!
My issue with dummies is more that my main toon is set up for execute damage and I just wet noodle that thing.
But get it to 35% and I’ll destroy it lol

Pretty much all DPS spec for execute damage on a trail dummy, just FYI. Three bloodthirsty is meta, and any class (Save sorc) with a specific execute ability is going to run it. Most classes have an execute rotation that kicks in at some point.
Curious what else you do to specifically setup for execute damage?
