There's still rare mounts based on skill, if that's the hill you want to climb.

Yas thank you very much ZOS. However, im not interested in the radiant apex mounts in this crate. Ive spent hundereds of pounds on other crates to acquire those crates radiant apex but never got any luck with them. I hope returning crown crates will give the same opton to buy radiant apex with gems.

And no... the exclusivity wont end! Because, acquiring gems is indirectly acquired and is a lot more expensive than purchasing crowns directly, so there will remain a small sub strata within the eso population who only have radiant apex mounts.

Why should someone want to feel exclusive, better than others in a virtual fantasy world? I'm glad people will be able to purchase even if at big cost what they desire.

Especially when it's exclusivity not based on any skill whatsoever but rather on amount of creates bought, pretty strange tbh.

Your mount was obtained with your wallet and a bit of RNG, it isn't exactly impressive. Obtain the Sunspire mount as that is more impressive as it shows your skill.

Uh, was this an early April fools gag or something? I am looking at the crown store in-game right now and you cannot buy radiant apex mounts for gems. They aren't even listed in the crown store, you have to hit 'R' hovering over the crown crates to see a list of stuff they can contain to even know they exist.

So was this an attempt to troll or some console exclusive change, or am I missing something?

No offense but RNG exclusivity seems a sad reason to choose a mount in my opinion. I choose mounts based on what I feel fit my characters and for some that will be one of the base game horses while others use region-based mounts or even something more magical.

Your mount was obtained with your wallet and a bit of RNG, it isn't exactly impressive. Obtain the Sunspire mount as that is more impressive as it shows your skill.

Who told you I don't have it? Also, that mount can be bought with gold. Many have been bought now.

I would like to be able to spend 400 gems and design my own mount with an array of choices of colors and effects.

That's a good change! I wonder how much they'll cost, though. The drop rates in the crates that I've had for the last several seasons made them a total waste of money, so I wasn't really going to bother with crates any more, but I might re-think that now.

You won’t get a radiant apex mount for $50. You ain’t even getting enough gems for a usual apex mount for $50. We‘re talking about hundreds of dollars here, if we assume they’re twice as expensive as the normal apex mounts.

I'm going to hold onto any thanks until we see the amount of gems required. Yes, it's nice to know that you can eventually earn anything from the crates, but there is a huge difference between say 600 gems or 5000 gems and I could believe either of those values to be true at this point.

There are a lot!!! Nowadays, half of the Godslayer mounts and titles have been bought with gold. I know Discords that sell runs weekly.

I think a few groups sell it for like 40m per run or so. No skill involved if I can just buy the reward.
