They said "some" bethesda titles are gonna be xbox/pc only, if ES6 is one of them then I'm sorely tempted to get an Xbox instead of a PS5. What does it mean for eso? Probably nothing, I can't see them pulling the PS servers down, but if there is ever a sequel to eso, then it might well be xbox only. Time will tell but its definitely looking like xbox is the console to get if you like bethesda's games.
Bethesda games already on the PS aren't going anywhere.
"Live service" (I hate that term) and multiplayer focused games that Bethesda creates will likely be on PS.
It is the single player games (excluding ES6 which I highly doubt will be an exclusive) that are most likely to end up MS exclusives. Think things like the next DOOM, Wolfenstein, maybe Starfield.
How much that means to you is up to you.
Also keep in mind all opinions on the matter are purely speculation for the time being.
All I am saying is that it undercuts your “nothing to worry about” advice for ps5 users. They have dropped platforms is the point. Nothing is set in stone, there is no guarantee of future support.

I've invested so much on ESO on the Playstation console but if ZeniMax and its future outside of ESO are gonna be leaning towards XBOX and PC going forward...then why have a PS5? I mostly play Bethesda Games and I'm trying to not have multiple consoles. I have a Gaming PC...but I know they not gonna let me transfer my PS account to PC or XBOX. In a sense, I'm trapped or start completely over with achievements and all.
So is XBOX and PC bethesda like games in 4 years and Sony PS like anime, Final Fantasy like games? I am more of a role-playing game kinda guy. I dont like playing multiple elder scrolls games on different systems. The reason why I got a gaming PC is because PS doesnt allow mods BUT xbox do...
What should I do yall?
Start over ESO on PC? Only other games I play on PS5 right now is ESO, Destiny, Warframe and Genshin Impact...
What would you do? Does anyone else feel like they being spread thin between the console wars?

If you have a PS5 and a gaming PC, that would seem like the ideal situation. You can play Playstation games on your PS5 (including ESO), and play XB/PC games on your PC. What's the problem? They're certainly not going to cancel ESO on PS5 (not until they cancel it on everything), so what's the need to start over or move your account?
edit: for the record, I have a gaming PC and I've had a PS1-4. I never get new-gen consoles until a few years into the new cycle (my first/only PS4 is a Pro). Never had an XBox, don't anticipate ever having one.
To think that future Bethesda games will be on PS4/5 is wrong. Xbox desperately needs exclusivity on their games and they just got it. And rightly so. You don't see sony Sharing Bloodborne,Spiderman,God of War, FFXIV, ect. And there are many that buy Playstations just for those games.
So yes now that Microsoft owns these trademarks I foresee them doing the same to boost the sales of their console. To not do so would leave money on the table and be a fools errand.

microsoft and sony sell their consoles at a loss and make it up in the sales of their games. selling their games on more devices means more money not less.
This, now the problem with Mac is that they changes their system architecture again and they do this like some people change cars. In 30 years they went from Motorola CPU, to PowerPC same CPU family used by Xbox 360, to Intel and now to their own CPU and ending the Intel line. I rater say its Apple who don't care about gaming outside of phones.Mac was already the red headed step child. PS is roughly a third of the playerbase.

PS4-5 support for ESO will continue as its an legacy product with an large PS player base.
I also agree with others that future live service games where most of the revenue come after the sale will be multi platform. MS might want to keep some large single player games as exclusive.
No consoles tended to change architecture a lot as is much less need for backward comparability. This, now the problem with Mac is that they changes their system architecture again and they do this like some people change cars. Yeah like all consoles kept the same architecture since they started. That’s why backwards compatibility was never an issue on consoles. And for the ps5, there is no need to update the eso client from the PS4 one because the architecture did not change. /sarcasm

First you still have your old console or it would be pretty irrelevant. Yes you might want to play older games of an series but that is a bit niche so irrelevant for billion dollar companies.
And yes if PS5 had selected an radical new architecture ESO might not been ported. Who would be very bad as the game keep adding more armor styles, mounts and other stuff who has to be loaded.
It did not, the world of computing is different from 15 years ago then an 3 year old gaming pc was junk.
An PS5 is an updated version of the AMD laptop setup used in PS4, yes the drive is amazing
No not dissing PS4 and One both good systems who still works well today but getting a bit old.
But none are dropping backward portability, easy to develop for and easy to port to systems for something who give 20% more performance in strong headwind if lucky.
PS5 can run the PS4 version of ESO, pretty sure the performance is better. But it can not use the full potential of the PS5 as consoles tend to work more directly with hardware you run in an comparability mode.
And yes they take their time for something who should be pretty straight forward but it might be issues.

I mean my experience so far with MS games is... disappointing & less than ideal. I have this new MS Flight Sim and it is installed through MS app store... Worst way to install & play the game. No joke.
If the only way to play some MS / Bethesda / Zenimax games in the future will be to install them through that weird app store... You can not even see where the install directory is, nor set it yourself... and all game files are hidden from you...
