Dungeon Finder, but for trials

NightwindArcher
Hello, I was just wondering if there was any plans to have a dungeon finder but for trials. Queue up just like for random dungeons but for trials. Seems like a really great idea. Now that I have thought of the idea I don't understand why this isn't already in the game.

Critics say groups will fail because they don't know the trials without taking into account they don't know the trial because it takes forever to get a group for them. Then they'll say "just join a guild" like it's some silver bullet to getting a trial group going for one of the less frequented trials.

That will just put more stress on zos hardware. Honestly i think the existing one need to be reduced for performance.

But isn't that already the case with pugging? Its not like using a dungeon finder will the make players any less knowledgeable than they are right now.

It does take forever. That's why I am suggesting we have a dungeon finder to speed up the process.

I agree with this statement. Being in a guild is not a sure fire way to get a trial group going.

If it can exist for Veteran Dungeons it can exist at least for normal Trials especially with Companions coming up. One possible problematic trial, even on normal, could be HoF in which case maybe it could have a slight nerf if that trial is pugged.

The Groupfinder for normal trials and raids works perfectly fine for every other online RPG that I’ve played. I see no reason why it couldn’t work in ESO as well.

To play devils advocate here a moment, but in other games such raid finder tools don't exactly succeed as intended. A lot of people would zone in and go afk, or do minimal effort and want to get carried, for any role. I am not saying that has/will happen here, only that its what happened in other games.

Just saying the same tools are available to all players, both with good and ill intent.

It can’t exist. You’re asking the group finder to search for 12 members of a group for unique roles. Typically it’s 2 tanks, 2 healers, and 8 dps but as we’ve seen a group doesn’t even need that. I’ve completed nAS with 4 ppl, no tanks or healers, so group composition is important as well as skill.

Organizing 12 players is one thing. That includes trying to constantly substitute members that drop out of queue, join in, meet a role requirement, etc. It’s extremely taxing on the server.

Beyond that it’s an honor system that you’re both queueing for a role you can do and necessary mechanics that you can perform. We’ve already seen with fake tanks and fake healers how that turns out.

It’s best to just go to Craglorn and ask.

I mean....craglorn is full of people picking up groups for trials that they don't know the players or if they know the mechanics....so why not just save people the trouble and have a que for them?

How would it put more stress on ZOS hardware? And if it does perhaps they need better hardware.

There actually was one originally but they never got it to work so it was removed.

There was even one for zones...

I agree they need to upgrade hardware.
But do I really need to explain to you add a que is adding work load?

Just a lobby would be nice. Like it takes forever making a group
