I personally got reshade but ended up playing with the settings myself until I was happy with it. I feel like ESO can look a lot better with reshade myself.

I though so too until a friend suggested reshade, which makes the game look absolutely amazing. I can't go back, I tried. I turned off the edge blur and numerous other options and just ended up just tweaking it to my own liking, everything is so awesome looking now.

Sadly most part of ESO community(and not just ESO) are unaware or ReShade, another part don't like how most popular presets look(too saturated, too black etc) and simply dont know how great ESO's image can be if you use custom settings especially with some other standalone shaders...I'm using custom ReShade in every MMO.

I use HDR, LumaSharpen, Vibrance, and DPX from the ReShadePreset in Performance Mode. There's no change in game performance.

I play with everything (except planar reflections) at the highest settings at 1440p. The game is eye candy of the highest order.

I've used Reshade in other games and the pre-made settings always massively over-do the contrast and sometimes brightness or bloom. I realise some people like that but to me it just looks strange and distracting.

Then I adjust it until I think it looks right and realise it's difficult to tell if I've got it on or off, so at that point I decide it's not worth using it.

After having that experience with every game I did try using it for I gave up using it entirely. On the rare occasions I do want to change the brightness and contrast for a game I can use my graphics card or monitor (which both offer game-specific presets), but I think the only game I've done that for is Dragon Age Inquisition, which for some reason needs the brightness higher than I have it for anything else.

If anyone knows of an addon to sort the bright flashy stuff let me know.

There is no way to turn them off/down even if everything is adjusted to grey they pop on top (thanks ZoS!)

That's what I'm talking about...thing is you have to make your own preset, you can make it look almost like vanilla eso but improved, it's not hard, may take a bit of your time, but in the end you'll be happy with result.

I've made my own preset, to suit my needs...I've tried to keep ESO 'theme', no glowing *** in the dark, no oversatturated colors, but darker nights, removed blue tint which is everywhere and makes image look colder, tonned down a bit brightness so my eyes can relax, added some 'bloom' effects etc to make image more soft, more warm, also much more better antialising without blurring image and so on...happy with result, can't go back.
    You should really try it.

Just a bit of sharpen, and eye adaptation.

I also use Daybreak, which pushes back the distant wall of fog present in every area of the game and its opacity, which I also adjust to my taste.

It's subtle but it creates an overall "fresher" look with a greater scope and depth of the beautiful environment while still maintaining the original flavor.

Not anymore. Had some issues with the sky showing gridlines a lot worse, not sure if it's my tv or something else.
There was also the difference between blue and purple being indistinguishable in the few that I tried, adjusting didn't do much, but if I toned down the strength of the filter to the point it was fine, then I might as well just uninstall it as it barely made the game look better. I've played on ps4 for years, so PC graphics still surprise me with just vanilla.

Reshade is a graphical injection program that allows you to alter the appearance of 3D games in various ways. There are hundreds of different filters that can do things as simple as sharpening textures or adding vibrancy to major overhauls of lighting and shading components of a scene.

So in the context of the other thread on color blindness you could for example change all red or green items in the game into a color that you can see better by applying a color LUT (look up table).

The program has no access to game files, nor is it integrated into the game like LUA. It can simply change what you see on the screen to something different based on it's own set of rules.

With Torchlight 2 reshade the game looks more vibrant, it doesn't have jacked up saturation like a lot of other presets do, so you won't get ultra-green greens or the like. I turn it off for a moment once in a while just to remind myself what it looks like without.

Personally I find ESO looking a little too dry I guess. The vanilla look just isn't as good as reshaders can make it in my opinion. Once I started using reshade I can never go back every time I turn them off to look at how the game looks it's like urgh no I feel reshade can do so much to improve how the game looks.
