What's your current CP on PTS and how much XP is a single CP for you?

Since they didn't actually share the curve and I'm now stuck at 810 maybe we can reverse engineer it real quick.

It's 362,842 at 810.

I already did this with a small poll in zone chat, the new XP soft cap for the formula is 1020, and yes there is still a 1.5x penalty past that.

I'm not quite sure why a penalty still exists in a system with no hardcap, other than 3600 of course.

Can confirm 1020 is what actually works on the PTS. If it's a typo, then we will exp even faster.

"even faster". If it will be changed to be capped at 1200 cp, we are essentially going to gain cp 1.5 times faster than on live from that point forward, very encouraging.

Iam currently at 1350 CP, i roughtly earned ~670 Million XP (~500 Million with 1020 cap and ~400 Million with 1200CP cap). If the 1020 cap stays i would need an additional 3.5 billion XP to reach the cap. If its the 1200 cap i would need 3.0 billion XP.

Now this brings up some interesting questions:
1.) How am i ever supposed to reach the cap in the first place?
2.) How is any new player ever supposed to catch up to me once iam there?

For comparison, the current 810 cap is ~200 Million XP. For the majority of players we are talking years to reach 3-3.5 Billion XP.

Whats even worse than this is that you need alot of XP to only fill a single role ith CP, since we still dont have multispec we cant forget it to ever filling mroe than a single role without swapping CP around.

2) It will take a new casual player years... maybe a decade or two. A farmer ? two to three years.

These are pure estimations based on somewhat limited knowledge about the new curves, so would suggest to take them with a grain of salt.

To be honest, as much as I want more progression for veteran players it may drive away new players completely.
WOW increased its player base by doing the big level crunch from 120 to 50 and then 10 more levels with the latest expansion.
Sadly, increasing the cap all at once to 3600 may do the opposite to ESO.

To be honest i had hopes for the new system that it would be easily possible to get through with everything in a relative fast time and that the huge amounts of points would be enought to enable players to go into at least 2 roles simulataniously with actives being used as a choice depending on what role you want to pick, reducing repsec needs for players.

I don't think it really matters though. All content is going to become much easier for all levels of players if the changes go live like this.
