Mount Speed....

So, after reading all the PvP threads this week, I decided to make a dedicated PvP character instead of throwing my PvE's into the grinder and expecting something good to happen . And since I don't have any characters in whatever-the-blue-ones-are, I decided to create a completely new character, so I could at least join my guild in some weekend shenanigans.

Then I got on my horse and the sad face kicked in again.

With 810+ Champion points to spend and a dedicated master crafter to outfit myself in all the latest threads, I still end up with the slowest mount in all of Tamriel. Seems legit. :|

At least my PvE characters can outrun a few threats. My new guy feels like she should just take her horse to the knackers yard and put it out of it's misery. It's a cruelty making this thing try to run.

By the time I get *anywhere* in Cyrodiil, the fight's already over and I'm just shuffling headlong into almost certain respawn.

And yes, I know about the Crown Store riding lessons, but come on.... speed + stamina alone would be over $100 for a character that I could get to 50/810 in a week. For what could potentially be a throwawy toon? I don't have enough GME stonk for that.

I am confused, level up rapids and put points into mount speed, yes it tales 60 days to max but so did it for everyone else.

It's even funnier next patch when you can increase your character speed with cp. I tested it in pts and my Argonian (not even Orc) can run almost as fast as maxed out mount lmao.

I think the complaint is "base mount speed is way too low, this is ridiculous!", which I tend to agree with.

Before you get any upgrades, the only way it could go slower is if it got on its belly and sadly dragged itself along the ground. Which is pretty close to what it feels like for those first 10 days or so. It feels punishing and stupid; the base mount speed should at least start out at what an injured 12-year-old three-legged dog could manage. Pretty sure I've seen caterpillars cover ground more quickly.

The upcoming changes to Rapid Maneuvers / Major Gallop being moved to Continuous Attack passive are very welcome; but personally I'd be more in favor of getting rid of Major Gallop altogether, and simply raising the base mount speed by that 30% from the start. Then as you upgrade, you go from "hey, this isn't so bad!" to "HOLY HELL, WAAARP SPEEEED!!! :D " as your mount training progresses.

Exactly. All other aspects of new character creation can be handled by any previous characters. eg, acquiring Champion points, crafting gear, farming gear. Yes, you need to get skill points and levels, but at least you can do them at your own speed, and if you're clever you can get everything you need very quickly.

Bu there is literally *nothing* you can do about mount speed, without spending real money.

No one should have to plan their alt two months ahead to keep up with their friends on a mount for PvP purposes. That's ridiculous.

Not without gold refunds for every character I've leveled up aside my main.

Its kind of weird but I created an alt and so far she sits at a stable and logs in every day to do a dungeon and upgrade mount speed. Painful trying to run around with slow mount.

You can also put CP into mount speed I think.
