We need nerf crystal shard

Hey everybody, Im old school player, [snip] We need crystal shard to be nerfed! you may ask why, because snipe will get again nerfed for 20%+ and this is not the first time!!! today I died from crustal shard 4 times in pvp, so we need to nerf it(yes yes I understand what you may think... to be honest I'm with you guys), but I dont give any [snip] about that, if ZOS likes to nerf everything they MUST nerf also crystal shard, snipe already got nerfed many times. Another thing, IMHO stamina players MUST do more dps than mag players, both pve/pvp wise, because stamina players melee and standing in the middle of aoe and doing impossible to survive and do damage plus they dont have any shields!
So once again nerf pls crystal shard its doing very high damage @ZOS_GinaBruno

The nerf to snipe is good, instead of ganking please just actually start fighting for once.

Also, if you somehow didnt notice, Crystal Frags has been nerfed numerous times and clearly does not need another nerf, while snipe actually didnt get changed as much as Frags.

And to the second part, stamina already does more damage than mag, while still having the overall better defense.

Pretty much all of what you said there makes me think that

fits quite well as more experienced players are rarely going to complain about those things.

Where do you see mag above stam (at least pvp wise)?

Also no shards are absolutely fine.

Crystal shard frequently gets minor nerfs. Last patch, its damage was reduced a bit and the coming patch will reduce it a bit again.

I constantly get killed by shalks in roll dodge, so please nerf it...
Seriously, I am happy when people manage to kill with their abilities rather than procs. We should not discourage this further.

Crystal Shard and Snipe on the pts currently have the same cast time (0.8s) and the same damage at base (2404 IIRC). This was tested on a character which was butt naked with absolutely no CP allocated of passives unlocked. The unique proc of Frags is again, a unique proc, that requires a condition to be met before it is available.

There is absolutely zero reason at all for either the base ability or the special proc version of it to be nerfed, whatsoever.

you just need to look at the screen and do a rolldodge, the crystalphrag does 0 damage in 70% of cases

Frags is still bugged. You cast it several times and it gets delayed until you manually stop weaving. It's seriously annoying.

Crystal frags has been a joke for years! So many times I get hit by it in pvp for nearly 80% of my health. If snipe gets nerfed then Crystal frags is definitely more deserving of a nerf. Mage scrolls online continues.

I am not sure any skill in ESO has been hit with the nerf hammer on more separate occasions than crystal frags. If anything, this skill could use a small buff, or just reworked as the second morph is virtually unused.

Also, Stam is more damage in both PVE and PVP. Sorry a sorc killed you a few times, but your premise is faulty. Mag sorcs arent even close to the top of the food chain in the current meta. Stamina is stronger than magic in PVP.

A few big differences.

Crystal frag needs to proc for full damage, snipe doesnt.
Crystal frag needs to be in combat to proc, snipe doesnt. We cant sit around in stealth waiting for someone to come around and gank them.
Crystal frag is not a weapon skill line, snipe is. Meaning crystal frag cant proc trap. Crystal frag lost its stun years ago snipe has a stun if your using trap poisions

I am not calling for a nerf Merciless Resolve and the spectral bow proc, but it is certainly the best skill to directly compare crystal frags to. Frags is certainly easier to use, but its damage is laughable compared to the bow proc. Any decent sorc would trade Frags for Merciless in a heartbeat.

Instead of a nerf, how about a buff? Crystal shard needs a morph called Crystal beam. Turn the shard launch into a channelled beam strike that does the same damage, but also roots you, incased in crystal, with an additional DoT. Sounds like a good idea to me!

I definately would once it gets its minimum travel time fixed.
It may be a unpopular opinion, though I also think crystal fragments could use a buff for once. Damage constantly gets reduced. We lost 3% just in the last 2 patches. Who knows when another % is taken and then another.
