Honestly, Alinor and Mistveil are hard to decorate comfortably even with their 600 slots. I never have enough space to clutter how I like. Been saying since Morrowind, they need to stop making these massive houses. Even the Lunar Champion house is way too big, but thankfully you can block rooms off.

I love big houses. Small ones are the ones I never know what to do with but I imagine I'm in the minority on that? Or am I? The big homes keep selling so it must be true. Small ones it feels like they are too cramped for my grand ideas.

@Synthwavius, once cleared(cos -ZoS does like to add crap to "unfurnished" houses) both Moonsugar Meadow and Stillwater's have quite nice area's.

Ok Stillwater is mostly ice but Moonsugar has water and rocky areas and ofc as mentioned above Coldharbour Surreal Estate is a great building platform!

There are so many rocks and boulders available cliffs are pretty easy to build too! :)

True but I want more :D

I really like the challenge of both types of home. I have found some a challenge due to item limits and would like it increased but in some manors I've actually felt like I had to build on extra because I used large furniture and filled it out. I guess I am not a mega clutter person but mainly because I know I'll run out of items to use. I'd use more if I could. I do like to use all of a house.
Small homes are more challenging to get everything in that you want.

In my mind it depends on what you want to do with it. For personal use I like the smaller ones, because they can easily be made cozy and looking lived in. In the end I don't want s furniture shop, but a home. But I like as well an outdoor zone which can actually be used - medium size houses do me well, I'm not that fond of larger ones - but a guild needs more space of course. Some of the larger ones look impressive on the first look, but with a closer look they often appear to be terribly designed with walkways in the way all over the place - hard to give these buildings some character and lived-in look.

Never really liked big houses, as even if you furniture them to a nice degree, they still feel kind of lifeless and lonely. The roaming NPCs you can now purchase for real money would probably help there... maybe there is a connection.

They are still on the shop, sure, whether they are selling well is another matter. Zeni won't share sales data with us though.

People have been asking for an Ayleid house, another Vvardefell house, and large houses that aren't empty with 700 furnishings. Both of these houses offer a lot of square meterage, but much of that space is already interesting—waterlogged ruins, lava space. These houses are more easily satisfied with 700 furnishings than Moon-Sugar Meadow or Grand Psijic Villa. The portals and balconies in Kushalit are like a treasure trove of potential, and hopefully Dwemer & Solitude furnishings will fit in the Ayleid house well

It feels to me like they're learning how to make houses that don't feel too empty, but people who want high levels of detail might have to close off a portion of the house—making it functionally the same as a smaller house

I'm not sure if Proudspire Manor and Lucky Cat Landing are more popular than the larger houses, but I expect them to keep offering a bit of both

I'm pumped for both houses, but will probably only be getting the Ayleid one

I've been using Stillwaters primarily because I want a Dwarven house and it's the only one (I don't count the Clockwork city house because it's not technically Dwarven at all, and it really doesn't offer much of a house but balcony space).

The inside is super easy to fill, and I have the outside lake with my crafting tables not crammed inside of the main house (minus my fancy kitchen). I put a target centurion in the cave and I'm slowly filling out the mundus stones. It's more utility house than sit and look at it house, but I actually like the space. At least it doesn't imply rooms that you can't access (looking at you again Clockwork city house).

I don't know if it is available now, but Frostvaul Chasm is a very nice Dwemer house in Eastmarch.

I enjoy the larger houses quite a bit - one of my favorite things to do is choose a remote location of the instance and build my own structure, often times ignoring what else is in the zone entirely. Having more room to explore and potential locations to build in is a positive for me and I am looking forward to the unique building opportunities available with the new large houses that are currently on PTS!

I agree though it would be nice if at some point things were optimized on the back end to better support an increased furnishing/collectible limit!

Re. the furniture limit- I feel like it would be easy to add 110 additional slots by removing the "collectible" category (seriously, I don't think I've ever had more than a handful in a house, so it's a total wasted opportunity) and just counting them as traditional. That way, the limit could go to 810, which should theoretically not increase any sort of strain or whatever it is that's preventing ZOS from increasing the furniture limit.

I filled strident springs with 600 slots and it still could use at least 200 more spots. To get something the size of grand topal hideaway and have a 700 limit is ridiculous

My problem with houses it that it takes to long to "zone" into and out of them.

Also the small ones don't let me place all my chests. This limit stops me from buying them.
