Orc racial changes a subtle cash grab?

While I believe the Orc passives needed to be toned down, I thought they would remove the 1000 health. Instead, they lowered the max stamina, which now for any min/maxer will move the Dark Elf into the top stamina dps position. Is this a subtle ploy to get more money from race changes? To me it doesn't make sence to change that aspect from the Orc. Just going by dps, they kept the High Elf slightly above the dark elf for damage (even if it is negligible), I would have thought they would have kept that dynamic between the dark elf and the Orc, rather than pushing the dark elf to be basically the master race.

yeah, they might be (depending on play style) and how well the health regen works and what it ends up being but they would still be right there if they left the damage and stamina bonuses and changed something else. It just seems odd to me to change them from the top stamina dps class and especially make the dark elf the top pure stamina dps class when they are already extremely close in both magicka and stamina.

It's a subtle ploy to drive people away from min-maxing.

Joking, mostly, but watching recent interviews, it looks like players min-maxing (including crazy DPS numbers) isn't something that makes devs particularly happy. Not that they are against it, but it's not something that actively support.

They kind of had it coming I guess. People complained about them since the overhaul and yea, they are a pretty bonus dense race. I think they will still be top. Max Stamina is not that crucial to stamina builds, the weapon damage is.
    Auri-El is my lord,
    Trinimac is my shield,
    Magnus is my mind.

And with 1k wpd given as baseline to everyone its even more important of a Stat now than before.

Frankly this makes orc a bit better for pvp, they've been trailing behind nord for meta Stam builds for a while now.
And a small nerf for pve is fine.
I don't know why ppl get so crazy about small nerfs.

This actually inspires me to conduct a little comparison. So far for magicka builds, gaining magicka% is slightly superior to gaining spell damage%. I wonder if this changed now with 1000 spell damage more, but only 4000 magicka.

I wonder if this is why medium armor was nerfed a bit. Because weapon damage %s will be much stronger now.

Overall, I think Orcs got a strong buff, despite 1K stamina being taken.

They get spell dmg bonus now too (and it makes them better healers than Argonians lol). Also they get quite insane +2K health every 4 seconds.... that is almost like 500 health recovery...

As for the stamina loss - we will get more raw resources anyway (bonus for levelling character to level 50 + New CP). So even if you will lose 1K stamina on your Orc, you will get roughly the same if not more, so this nerf is kinda irrelevant.

Btw. I find it weird that they buffed 2 strongest races in game, but nerfed the weakest one... I do not understand this logic...

It's not really going crazy over a small nerf...but look at how people seem to make a big deal between a dark elf and a high elf now (which is a tiny difference), the difference between an Orc and a Dark Elf will be much bigger than that. I just think it seems odd they would put Orc at the top of stamina dps and then change it to Dark Elf, making them highest in stam dps and pretty much equal in Mag dps to a high elf. To me it would seem more logical to keep Orc slightly above Dark Elf in stamina the same way High Elf is above them in magicka and then having the dark elf a close second in both. Again, they aren't nerfed in anyway, but I dont think you can argue many people chose them because they were top for stamina dps, so for those people that want the absolute top they are they are pushing another race change on them. It just would have made more sense to me for them to adjust their other racial passives.

My point really isn't that Orc isn't going to still be good. Its more to the fact that people chose them because they were top in stamina dps and with these changes they aren't. It would be the same if they decided to lower high elf magicka down to 1000 and add some other passives. People chose those two races because they were the top at pure dps. It just seems like a cash grab on people that want to have the highest possible dps. So what if next patch they decide to lower high elf max magicka down to 1000 and buffing some other aspect of their passives?
