Hi all, here's a thread to show off / discuss the new Housing content coming alongside the Flames of Ambition DLC in Q1 of 2021! New year, new housing content, huzzah! 🎊🎉
_____
20 new Dwarven furnishing plans
We’ve added a new set of 20 Dwarven furnishing plans in the Markarth style. These have a chance to appear in Markarth Reward Coffers, which are awarded for completing world boss and delve daily quests in The Reach. These plans include various platforms, pillars, and stairways, as well as other structural components—including plans for a fireplace, a double door, and a tower!

New Undaunted Furniture from the Dungeons
bolczv4eqqe2.png
Fountain of the Fiery Drake: At first glance, this draconic accent seems straightforward, but a quick adjustment allows it to breathe flame. Basalt Pillar, Glowing: Though touching this lava-formed pillar bare-handed is inadvisable at best—it contains a molten core—gently blowing on it might just brighten its glow a bit. Try it and see!
^ Those two are from the Undaunted Vendor. The effect on both can be turned on and off. One has a slight orange glow, the other is breathing fire.
Plus 2 Trophies and 2 Busts

New Crown Store furnishings
Including a special Aetherial Well utility furnishing: This furnishing can be found in the Crown Store, or in the Services category, under the new Recovery subcategory. When placed in a home, you and your guests can draw power from this ancient relic to fully restore your Health, Magicka, Stamina, and Ultimate.

Surprisingly, also a number of other furniture purchasable from the Housing Editor (not confirmed, may change on live):
Aetherial Well resource utility on the left. Daedric items from the new Chimer/Daedric house and the Editor on the right.

Also a GIANT Sheogorath statue, a GIANT Ayleid Chandelier wich casts pretty blue light and shadow patterns, and a few GIANT trees. These are included in the 2 new houses, hopefully they will be purchasable directly from the Housing Editor for other homes as well.

2 new Houses
Kushalit Sanctuary: The recently abandoned Sheogorath shrine that locals call Assalkushalit features a statue to the Mad God within its stony hall. Whether you revere this Daedric Prince or want a home nestled in Red Mountain, this portal-ridden sanctuary can be yours!

Varlaisvea Ayleid Ruins: Ancient pillars along the Abecean Sea mark the site of once-soaring Ayleid architecture. Though none know the original purpose of these structures, some claim that soaking in the retreat's indoor crystal pool heals the spirit

Fast Travel Outside of Homes
There are many reasons to visit your lovely home, but sometimes you just want to use it as a handy fast travel point! For times like those, you can now select the “Travel to Outside” option when traveling to any of your homes, and it will take you right outside the front door without any extra loadscreens. You can of course still travel straight inside, as before, with the “Travel to Inside” option.

Furnishing & Houseguest Preview Improvements
You can now preview furnishings and furnishing plans directly from your inventory. No more guesswork when deciding whether to learn a plan! In addition, Houseguest previews on the Crown Store now include a selection of voice lines, so you can get a better sense of their overall identity.
_____
I'm super excited for the new Structural furniture, and the Quality of Life changes seem really good too! Using homes as a wayshrine will be a lot easier, I'm sure console players will appreciate having the preview from inventory function that PC players had through AddOns, and the voice line preview seems to be a direct response to the Sereyne controversy  Overall, nice changes! What are all your thoughts? Anything in particular you're really excited for?

I am unspeakably excited for an Ayleid ruin player home with more Ayleid furnishings! This has been a personal dream ever since I first played TES: Oblivion over 12 years ago!

I'm a bit confused that they would implement the fast travel to outside homes , which i dont see anybody asking for, but not implement free travel from inside homes.... which has consistantly been asked for!

Yeah, that's a good point. Though maybe they noticed that a lot of people use houses as wayshrines. Like, using Pariah's Pinnacle to port close to Maelstrom Arena, or using inns to quickly travel to cities; so now people can do that without having to go through a loading screen. Agree though that wayshrines from inside your house would be super useful.

    Meh.......

What housing really needs is the following QOL changes:
Exit wayshrines: to place into our houses so we can go exactly where we want to when leaving a home after doing what we came to do at the house. the reason people want exit wayshrines is so its easier to leave the house when they are doing doing what they came to it for, not to port outside the stupid door..... wtf is this current change? yet again you misunderstand or simply dont care about the community.

Writ boards & writ dropoff boxes:

    Higher item limits:

    Stable and Pack Merchant NPCs:

Guild banker and merchant NPCs for guild halls:

Convert all the decorative housing item games into usable mini games to play against friends & guests:

And FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THAT IS HOLEY make new Super/multi Attuneable crafting stations with drop down menus so we can replace our 600+ crafting tables with 4 and pick what set we want to craft from a list. Make it so you have to feed existing attuneable stations to the new ones to unlock the sets.

A guild hall button in the G page of guilds so members/people can port directly to the guild house the GM sets with a @name and House out of a list.

Lastly Fishing, Farming, mining, wood cutting, and clothing plots would be cool to add. It would be even cooler if it was unlocked via collective guild effort so you could really feel like you were contributing to the guild hall as a whole.

as for the rest of this stuff coming out this year, we didn't ask for it/don't need it/ & don't care.
You are doing alot of stuff with the game, but NONE of it interests me or my guild tbh.
In fact they were disappointed after watching the stream saying it looked like the most boring year yet and that they will wait to buy it when its on sale at the end of the year IF they are still playing.. when that's the sentiment of a guild that's BAD, cuz were just a few people of the overall community which means if that many are saying that here, our feelings aren't isolated and even more people have to feel that way across the game. I cant keep my guild together and interested in the game if you are trying this hard to push players away. We wont even talk about the bad pvp changes you have made over the last 3 years.

Give us a whole year of solid high quality Housing updates with the stuff on this list, THIS is what we want/need. Not stupid things like NPC path finding. i still cant believe you wasted time on this when their were other more powerful and easier to implement, things that have been critically needed & begged for by the community sense housing day 1..

Quality of life changes that desperately need to happen in order make ESO Better for everyone!
Forget new content for awhile & forget adding new DLC, this is a list of what is actually needed in the game.
1: Change the ESO+ Housing item limit from 2x to 3x. (preferably 4x)
2: Add a working Exit wayshrine item for housing.
(Needs to be added as a special achievement item for finding all wayshrines in the game, & should use the same slots & operate the exit shrines in cyro, where you cant port to them but you can use them to leave the house and go anywhere u want)
3: Add a GUILD Banker & Store NPC for housing.
(willing to pay 5k crowns if it does both Or 2.5k crowns each if they split them and have 2 Npcs(1 for each banker/store))
4: Add Writ boards and Writ Drop-off's for housing.
(willing to pay 2.5k crowns for each board+1k crowns per Drop off box=11k total crowns
5: Cut the crown price of Mundus stones IN HALF, and refund the difference in crowns to the few people who have already bought them.
(If Zo$ was my dog, ied roll up a news paper and smack you in the nose repeatedly for this. 4k per stone x13 stones? what were you thinking?!!
6: Multi Attuneable crafting stations. (this one change will solve so many issues with item limits. Make it so you have to 'feed' existing attuned tables to the new station to unlock its drop down effects. This kills 2 birds with 1 stone.)
7: Change the amount of transmutation gems needed to change a trait from 50 to 10, Increase the drop rates of all Geode sources by 10x.
8: Release more crafting recipes in the game for housing, Dark elf bed of coals/Outdoor and indoor fires/Orcish Column Brazier/Imperial Forge/Beehives/Grape vinyards/smaller greenhouse than the one currently ingame (half the size), We know they are already in the game. These were on the original housing PTS then like 60% of the good stuff disappeared when housing hit the live server.
9: ESO+ life time membership option.
10: Permanent craft bag unlock for crowns.
11: REMOVE BIND ON PICKUP FOR EVERYTHING EXCEPT QUEST ITEMS! PLZ ABOLISH THIS TRASH RESTRICTION!!! Change all current non quest BOP items to BOE. PvPers don't like being forced to run pve for gear, and pve-ers don't like being forced to run pvp for their gear either. The solution is so simple let people run the content they like and trade their drops on the open market..
12: Add New Fishing rods that you can unlock with bonuses for catching rate fish. spending 6 hours trying to get ONE blue fish using all of the buffs currently available is cancer, especially when you have to do this for 12 fish per zone times 40+ zones. In-fact just overhaul fishing totally and make it like Farcry 5 where you KNOW exactly which holes and locations the each of the rares will spawn. Make the T2 bait ACTUALLY & NOTICEABLY WORK, and combine it with better rods & better fishing related food buff so we can just reel in the rare fish like crazy. Even with all that its still gonna take a week or more of grinding to get all the fish, but thats better than a LITERAL FREAKING YEAR of fishing just for a housing boat item that doesn't even do anything...
13: Playable Games inside houses (basically just make all the decorative game furnishings actually intractable so we can play against other players. This would give a nice bump to housing utility and community building, RPers would also probably appreciate this).
14: A 'Port to Guild House' Option on the main guild page.
15: Add Functional Things to housing/guild halls that your guild can contribute to unlock as a group effort. An example of stuff would be like a 5% damage buff during overland content for all guild members, or buffs for dungeons/trails. Another example would be unlock tokens for people with super hard to get achievements like someone with the grand master fisher, they could donate a token to the guild that unlocks usable fishing plots inside the guild that the GM/House owner could place down. This would then let people travel to the guild hall and collect a Daily account Limit from housing harvesting nodes. Nothing crazy that would break the economy, just like 30 or so resources from each daily harvest able nodes for each of the skills. It would be even better if they were special enhanced versions of the normal ore/wood etc. that gave a refining bonus for tempers like double the chance to get tempers. (double the chance to get tempers on such a small amount of resources wouldn't actually make a big impact on economy, but the COOL factor would be off the charts so i see no reason why this couldn't be done).
16: Solo Dungeons, Much like solo trials this would be a 1 person equivalent of a 4 person dungeon. It would be even cooler if you could have your new companion NPC come with you on these, but we will have to see how good that companion system is first.

Update: Edited the main post with pictures for most furnishings.

There were a couple of surprises in there, and it seems that this is the patch for MASSIVE items, lol. Like, the sheer size of some of those items is insane. I'm in LOVE with the Ayleid Chandelier though, and will definitely get the vampiric blood boiler thingy. Also, the Aetherial Well resource-restoring utility furnishing is much smaller than I anticipated.

Totally!!! I was unsure about the Ayleid ruin since it seemed very open-air, sparse, breezy, and well... ruined. But it's actually an insanely large Ayleid complex with overland ruins spanning several floors, as well as a large internal section with a giant hall and many pools. The house also comes with those gorgeous Chandeliers... (It will be even more mindblowing in a video that I'm sure people will upload - I keep getting lost so I won't even try, lol). Here are some pictures!

I shared some screenshots of the Ayleid house in my previous comment, so here are some screenshots of the new Chimer/Daedric complex. Wouldn't want this den of Daedra-worship to feel left out.

Two of the overlooks are accessible via Daedric Portal. Also, nice ash-rain outside.

I had hoped the Markarth furnishings would be added but it is still a very pleasant surprise! There is a lot to like there!

The new Master Writ plans are also awesome!

It would be a shame if the Ayleid grate and the tree are in the crates because that would mean I wouldn’t be able to get any, though.

I was all set to buy the Markarth house, but of course the Ayleid one is one I have always wanted.

I may have to get both! It would be especially nice if the Ayleid house came later in the year after my ESO Plus subscription renews so I get more crowns before then.

It's hugely ginormous-er. But yes, it's the same model sized up, just like ESO Statuettes are regular statue models sized down. The new Sheo statue is for real huge though; I think it looks awkward there in the new house as it eats up too much interior space in a room with lowered ceilings. I would put it outside, personally, although of course everybody has their own idea on how to decorate. (Here's a comparison in size next to the Psijic Villa - that's the Crown Crate Statue on the right, mind you, not the ESO+ Statuette even if it looks tiny )

Ikr! Ayleid fans, rejoice! \o/ I was super lucky to have won some Crowns during yesterdays' announcement stream giveaway, so I might get both :flushed: I feel spoiled, but I don't look gift Crowns/horses in the mouth, and housing is what I do enjoy in ESO... guess we'll see though. Hope they won't cost too much (most furniture in the new houses are garbage in my opinion - the Ayleid is decorated with majority Imperial stuff not Ayleid, and the Chimer has a majority of Hlaalu/Redoran/Dres items rather than Daedric - so I don't think the furnished versions are worth much).

And yeah, I really wish they'd stop putting Furniture into the Crown Crates, but sadly normal furniture don't get preview images like that, only stuff that goes into the Crown Store or Crown Crates. :disappointed: So if they follow their pattern, 3 of the upcoming furniture will be in the new Ayleid Crown Crate season.

Thanks for the pics I'll pass on both I like Sheo but he seems really out of place in a vvardenfell ruin I was hoping to have it be blank to dedicate it to a god of our choice or an azura one. The markarth one is likely out next month and I now am definitely getting it with more furnishings. The house will look fantastic now with all the furnishings it has. I wouldn't say no to a few more dwemer Knick knack's and science objects and plates/utensils would be the cherry on top but there is enough to work with.

    Edit
I really hope Argonian's get another house this year maybe even two. A large and huge one as the base game ones are so terrible they don't count leaving us with just Xanmeer. I like my Xanmeer but sometimes I want options to go tribal it up. Or hist tree it up.

Reminder, for those who played WOW when WoD was the expansion and what happened with garrisons (or another perspective for those who didn't). The actual DLC wasn't great and Blizzard added a whole bunch of solo content inside the garrisons that were unique to each character. There was harvesting and missions for your minions. So you'd log on and do everything for 1 character, log out and repeat as many times as you could stand and log off for the evening. Interaction with other players in guild, or generally, was minimal.

All the calls for more things to do inside houses are heading in that direction. For the game to feel like it is an active space in which to participate, it requires other players to be out there in as large a number as the servers can cop with. Yes, it's annoying to miss out on a node because you didn't quite get there in time, or someone's pet is in the way of a crafting station.

If everyone's locked in their own housing instance it makes things like world bosses and events (Harrowstorms etc) harder to complete and so less people are going to want to try and attempt them on a regular basis. If you can explain how that situation is to be avoided then please let us know.

Why do I need to port to the outside of my home when all I need to do is port there, turn around, and (exit)? Much rather the cost to fast travel out of the home be removed. :/

I don’t think anyone’s asking anything that would replace doing things in the world. Any sort of harvesting should be only a small supplement and should be account and not character based. Also, I’d love to see changes made to increase reasons to visit others’ houses (those who want visitors, of course, nothing forced on anyone). One of my friend’s houses is a hub where I often run into people as she has a transmute station and many other things very conveniently arranged. :)

But no, I wouldn’t want what you describe where there’s some sort of grind in player instances. GW2 did introduce a lot of nodes in housing but it was per account so no one was spending great time doing that and it actually encouraged interaction I think as many who had a loaded instance would invite others to join them.

Agreed! No need for a CS-only expensive wayshrine furnishing. Just remove the gold cost. I understand the concern that players would just use a free inn room to port anywhere in the game, but I think if it's just limited to being able to port to any wayshrine that's in the same zone for free would be acceptable.

I do, however, appreciate being about to port outside my home, for times when I'm just using my house as a port. But, please, for those of us who actually use our homes for our characters and actually log off in their homes, having a free port out would be great. Or, if I'm porting there to put stuff in storage or what not.
