I understand that snipe in PvP was a major problem when it desynched but how do you figure taking 21% of the damage makes it more potent in a rotation? "we wanted to make these abilities less bursty in nature while helping their fluid usage in rapid succession, making them less potent at combining into deadly alpha strike attacks and more potent while used in a rotation." What you have done is try to fix a PvP desynch by killing bow/bow in PvE because looking at these numbers you just took the only ranged Stam option and made it fall even farther behind the others. This is going to be a 7k dps loss or more for the stam dps option that was already 7-10k behind the others.

    Because it's the way of zos, a lot of worthless and meaningless changes just for the sake of changes. The problem with snipe was never its damage, it's when it de-syncs and hit you with several snipes at once and the only way to fix that is to fix the servers.

    I don't think going from 2105 tooltip to 1663 tool tip (21% reduction) is going to make for a better damage rotation, the math just doesn't add up

    It's like with the Sorc frags or Wrecking Blow. You can now weave them properly with LA into normal rotation without slowing down because of 1 whole GCD of cast time. Put your pitchforks down till you see the actual parses.

    You can weave sorc skill and warden birds into that same 1 sec GCD. Sorc skill does the most consitent damage and is a minimum 10k damage loss to snipe in it's current form. The new snipe is 1k more damage than the sorc spamable so with a bit of simple math about a 7k loss difference. So why should I put the pitchfork down again?

    And there is the fact that bows do the same damage as a 1 handed weapon and your example of wrecking blow "Slam an enemy with an upward swing, dealing 1848 Physical Damage. Grants you Empower for 3 seconds, increasing the damage of your Light and Heavy Attacks by 40%" still does 200 more damage on tooltip with a weapon that does 200 more damage at base.

    Because weaving LAs into1 second cast time results in clipping the GCD over the course of a rotation. At .8 seconds you can LA and hard cast and stay within the same cadence of someone weaving an instant cast ability and LAs. The damage difference is in how many LAs you can produce over an extended period of time.

    Warden birds are not applicable in this case as they are an instant cast ability.

    It's gonna take a lot of LA to make up a 7k or more damage loss. As I said above I will be testing asap but I think without some major change they have killed bow/bow because about 40% of a bow parse was Lethal Arrow and a 21% hit is massive.

    Cast time spammables that only hit once should be instant instead. Also, who was using solar flare that caused it to be nerfed again? It is not like anyone was using it better and I don't they would start now espically with 21% damage reduction and status effect that is useless in PvE and not woth the risk of stun in PvP. Cryatal blast nerf as well was unneccessary.

    They are attempting to transition both skills into being more easily usable PvE spammables.

    ZOS believes that Solar Flare is a ranged spammable in the same category as the new Crystal Frags. That is different from how most players perceive the skill (e.g. used in PvP or not at all) but ultimately we're not the ones making the game.

    Ok first round of parses First was a parse from a few weeks ago same gear as new parse (Yes different toons but both fully leveled stamsorcs) 0grxpinryxp6.png

    Second is from just a bit ago. The change to snipe does make it a bit easier to weave but whereas most of the skills got a 40% nerf based on my CP Lethal takes a 50% hit and as I said before bow was already quite a bit behind the other weapons and now even more so. sruwf0nevpc7.png


    They need to make the damage hit a lot less or just revert it all together or they have completely killed bow/bow in PvE.
    Yes I did take as much direct single target damage as I could without gimping the build completely
