I'm glad I completed all the story content before One Tamriel.
The new player experience just got more and more confusing after that.

Also, I love the game but I only play for PVE group content at the moment, I recently got TTT, I'm still progressing on Unchained, and on the trifectas for the Stonethorn DLC. I haven't even finished Southern Elsweyr quests. And I haven't touched Western Skyrim and Markarth, maybe one day I'll actually take the time to clear all of that.

It's really the endgame, my friends and my responsibilities as a guild leader that keep me playing.

Had to check email for when account was created, man, that is a long time. We bought ps4 at the time and my guy i guess, had also gaming intentions on it. But i saw a used eso game for 5 euro in the store and thought i'd finally check if the game was as crap as everyone said it was. We went home, made my first char and that was that. 100% hooked. He has not played very much on our ps4 lol.

I started playing ESO in 2015, but sadly ran into some irreparable problems with my account, and that paired with my less than optimal PC at the time forced me to take a hiatus from the game until 2018, when I started playing again.

I've since been forced into a quasi-break from the game because Crusader Kings III was released and I fell in love with that game. ESO also started to lose my attention for various reasons. I just felt like it was asphyxiating me by not allowing the kind of player choice or gameplay variety I wanted.

So now I'm mostly inactive but occasionally logging on to mess around in Cyrodiil for an hour or so. I've also let my ESO+ expire.

Played the Beta, but did not buy. Stayed with GW2, then stopped MMOs till I did EQ again because of their 20th anniversy event.

I started playing ESO in July 2020 when New World was delayed. I did not want to get into a MMO that has been around awhile, but there were not many other choices that I found appealing. There are enough annoyng things about this game (and the business model) that I don't expect it to be a long term game for me, but it currently occupies the time.

In November 2012, we all got excited when the first announcement was made for The Elder Scrolls Online. Since then, the game has changed in many ways. Some people didn't like the changes, some did. Personally, I have been around since 2014 in one of the final beta invite waves. I am just curious to see for how long you have been around.

And while you are at it, what is your most memorable moment in the game and why?

Keep in mind that it's mostly well experienced people that go to the forum, generally speaking.
I can't remember exactly which beta testing I participated in, but I didn't start using the forum until October 2018.

I remember the early beta days when teso was only available on weekends. My friend and I put off everything and from Saturday morning played until Sunday night. Those were the good old days of the Teso marathon. I remember that I went through all the quests in Auridon and earned only 12 lvl) And my friend on the beta test became the emperor xD When the game came out, it cost $ 60 + $ 15 required monthly subscription. But it was worth it!

In November 2012, we all got excited when the first announcement was made for The Elder Scrolls Online.

I wasn't. I HATED the idea of an Elder Scrolls MMO, I thought that there would be no way that anyone could ever do this idea justice. When everyone was getting excited about it, I was incredibly confused as to why people didn't share my sentiment, Elder Scrolls just doesn't work in an MMO format! Come 2014, turned out I was right, and I played the waiting game. Its an Elder Scrolls game, I was going to end up playing it eventually, even back when I was hating on the game I knew I was going to give it a go at some point. I started playing when the game was marketed as Tamriel Unlimited, around the time when thievery and the justice system was added to the game. I consider myself lucky that I waited that long to get the game, because while it didn't feel like the standard Elder Scrolls experience, it was still set in the world of Tamriel, and I could still (sort of) play the game the way I would have normally played a TES game. I even left a few zone quests for later, hoping that eventually the game would be updated so that I would go back there without being overlevelled for the content. This was before One Tamriel was even announced. My routine when playing this game is on and off, usually playing for around 3 months or so and then not touching the game for roughly half a year. Its good. I like it.
So the Dark Elves have weird alien architecture, where people live in mushroom towers and the shell of a giant crab, but the High Elves, the pinnacle of technology, the most magically advanced race in Tamriel, are still stuck in slightly pretty, fairly tall stone buildings? Not even a hint of a glass city? Are stainless glass windows really enough to claim that a city is made of glass?

I was SO excited when I first heard about ESO back in 2012. Followed Shoddycast constantly for new tid-bits of news.
Then I got my beta key!! Most memorable moment?
The first weekend I did beta and Bleakrock was bugged. You couldn't leave! Lol!! So me and everyone there just ran around Bleakrock all Weekend! Was still fun. But I do miss the "Flash-Mobs" at the fountains!

I started in early 2016. I had never played an MMORPG before nor heard much about the Elder Scrolls series and my partner suggested it after we got a PS4. I fell in love with the game from the start, though I had A LOT to learn, lol. It has it's issues and I have done my share of airing my frustrations, but I'm completely hooked anyway.

I've had so many memorable moments, but I think my top one is still the time several years ago when I knocked a much higher cp enemy clear off the top of Alessia bridgehouse with a well timed hit from my inferno staff. I think we were both shocked as they just lay there for a minute or two while I looked down on their dead body, lol.

I joined recently, in November 2020, pushed by friends. ESO is for me a backup game, that I use to chill solo, relaxing. I do only what I like and don't care to level up. That makes me ignore a big part of the content LOL.

Globally, I'm happy to play it but there are too many things I dislike (no critics in any way, only a matter of preferences): I don't think it will ever become - for me personally - more than a side game.

Technically day 1 console release but only for a few hours - picked it back up shortly after summerset.

Moved to PC just over a year ago for better performance but haven't played for about 3 months tho because performance kept getting worse.

Best memories probably from my 1st vMOL prog, setting up guild houses with replicas of each boss room & parsing for hours in there :#

I was amongst the first beta tests there were. I took free from work to be able to play those.

When ESO came out my bf and I played the story content together in a party. It was really perfect for us - being able to play together yet experience the stories of TES. It was nice to share the experiences with each other - with occasional heated discussions when other one made different choice in the end of the quest than the other :)

I had couple of breaks from the game because of irl, but housing really got me addicted and got me to join more social guilds than just trading guilds. That kept me playing even after my bf quit playing.
