Really not a fan of this! You've made it harder to get the drops by adding steps requiring manual claiming. It means more of them are less likely to be collected and I can see motive behind that.

Having to watch the stream for at least 15 cumulative minutes is a good thing. Its better for the streamers. But you have to wait for the chat notification to pop up which you have to select. You have a limited time to claim the drop as well. So if you don't claim it fast enough, you don't get it. Also, if you're watching this on a console, you have to swap to a pc or a mobile device to be able to claim it.

What was wrong with how it was being done before, in an automated process?

How long will drops be available to collect from inventory? I asking because all of the official streams are held at night for some people so they having to leave the page open to get a drop passively.

Was hoping they added a way for players to get those drops, while not watching things live. Like watching the stream within 24h of the original broadcast will still allow you to get the twitch drops, or something like that.

These are all good points, but... it sounds like this is due to platform changes on the TWITCH side, and not anything that ZoS had any say over. Don't shoot the messenger. At least they are providing some communication about the new process.

Is this live now or is there a specific date it will start?

Will all drops have a limited time to collect or will it just be some of them?

Just theoretically if this one should fall asleep during a stream will she then lose the drop if she is not able to collect it until the next day?

I think it is technically live now but seeing how drops aren't currently enabled it'll probably start the next time they are, possibly at the reveal event.

And yes, it looks like your drop will be lost.

My question exactly. Usually can watch at least part of the official stream, but would hate loosing drops due running off to grab a coffe, to the restroom, or having someone ring doorbell at the wrong time. I gues we'll see at tomorrow's test run ...

Thanks for letting us know. For me, though, this has finally migrated from barely worth it to barely not worth it. If you see the folks at Twitch, maybe you tell 'em: "So long, and thanks for all the fish!"

    So...

"Drops for The Elder Scrolls Online can include Ouroboros Crown Crates, which contain a random selection of in-game consumables such as Crown Poisons, Mimic Stones, Riding Lessons, or Experience Scrolls. They also have an extremely rare chance to contain an exclusive Senche of Scarlet Regret mount or Senche Cub of Scarlet Regret pet."

I am not sure if I understand it correctly. I can get a Ouroboros Crown Crate OR very rarely I get a mount or pet. Does this mean that Ouroboros Crown Crates do not include the mount or pet anymore ? And mount or pet can now "drop" as a separate code / reward ?

It written in a very confusing way tbh....

    Edit:
Also, since there is a requirement to claim drops manually, but instead... drops are "Guaranteed" (previously it was rng %). Is that correct ?
"You are guaranteed a Drop once you meet the 15 minute requirement"

    And one more question:
"Important: In some cases you may have a limited time to claim your Drops, so be sure to grab them as soon as you see the notification"

How much is "limited"? Is it a day or less ? ? ? That is kinda a "vital" information...

How long is "a limited amount of time"? Like minutes? Hours? Days? Because for me a lot of the official streams are very late or in the middle of the night, so I fall asleep during. Would I be able to claim them next morning or am I just out of luck? Because if so I may just as well skip streams from now on.

Since chat in twitch is often glitched due to to chat volume, I see this as being quite questionable.

Probably because its too easy to just leave your stream running all night while your sleep or walk away do some other work not watching the stream but collecting the free loot.

I mean you can still do that with this system but will need to keep your phone handy to see when drops come in.

Having to watch a stream for 15 minutes on Twitch seems like a steep price to pay for any freebie

Especially if they have those irritating jingles they play every time somebody does something pointless

I love watching xynodes streams except I can’t... I want to find out who ever put those sound clips together for him and bury them in the deepest hole I can find accompanied by a pack of hungry and disgruntled raccoons

Eyes turn towards the volume control…

You got it all wrong. Enduring watching a stream is not a payment for a drop, instead a drop is a bonus for watching a stream you wanted to watch anyway.

Open the stream, set a timer, check the chat when it runs out?

    From Twitch FAQ:
How do I claim and receive a time-based Drop?
You must be watching a participation channel in order to receive progress towards the Drop. When you watch for the required amount of time, a claim message will appear at the bottom of chat area (top of chat on mobile) for a short period of time, where you will be able to claim the Drop. If you miss the claim message, you will still be able to claim the time-based Drop for the duration of the campaign from the Drops Inventory page.

So it's even better than old system. You don't have to watch stream and watch for 15-minutes spot. You can just start stream and claim reward couple hours later. In old system I had streams played for many hours, because I never knew if I have this drop or not. Today for test, I started random stream, wrote this post and already claimed drop from inventory. It was easy and very convienant, now I can close stream :)

Also if you click on your account icon (in right, upper corner), you can see progress of your drop.

I'm really happy with changes :)

EDIT: I started ESO and crate is already in game - that was fast!

Works like a charm so far. I started the stream, didn't have to click any message really and I got this progress bar in my user menu. After 15 minutes drop got added to my inventory, I clamed it and immedieately got it in game. Far smoother process than before when after several hours of watching I had no guarantee that I'll get anything and it was too late to do anything when could find out whether I did get a drop. We'll see how it works in the long run but I'm happy with the changes at the moment.

Got a crate too, new system is very convenient and I like that the drop is guaranteed.

I too tested it and it work, more or less. There was no link in chat or any kind of message that I had a drop, the chat was semi dead so it wasn't like I could have missed it if it was there. But when I checked my twitch inventory after having run a stream for 17 minutes there was a crate for claiming that was applied to my account instantly.

Verdict at this point, I think I prefer this way over the old one. Main obstacle I could see is remembering to claim the drop if you're just running the stream and only partially watching, but for me it is far outweighed by the fact that a drop is now guaranteed after 15 minutes and not a chance thing.

I worked, and I do like the guaranty drop after 15 minutes.
